Hello everyone ..pls pardon me for any violation of the rules, am new here. Pls I would like to know if I qualify for any of the entry processes? I have MSC in biomedical science from the Uk. I have never worked except for youth service. I am in the third year of my PhD and am 30 years old. Please help me choose the correct pathway. I am married and my husband is 33. A civil engineer by profession. I have not written the english test yet and I am concerned about the work experience aspect.

If your NYSC experience falls under any of the occupations in the NOC A, B or O code, and you are able to obtain a valid reference letter in the required format; then you should be eligible. However, you would still require your IELTS and ECA.

I also have to state that there are couple of other eligibility criteria to be mindful of (scoring a minimum of 67 in 100 in the FSWP point grid, which I believe wouldn't be an issue with a good IELTS score)

Quebec has changed rules, English speaking people can apply so long as you meet the minimum points which is 47 without spouse or 57 or so with spouse.

The only thing I have a reservation for is integration and jobs for English speaking people. Knowing fully the province is french oriented.

I'll post some links later.

Cheers.

P's, Nogen, i replied your email.

Absolutely true. Most of the job postings in Quebec requires fluency in French. The silver lining is that immigrants are not bounded to stay in the province indefinitely. If you stay for some months without job, you are free to "waka" to another province; as under Canada’s Charter, every resident has freedom of movement.

Per the boldest, Borrowed fund simply means it isn't your money. As you mentioned yourself - liability. That is not tenable as POF no matter how long you "fix" it because you need to return it to the owner.

Note that having liability isn't any issue so far your net still meets the required amount of POF.
I had a liability of over 500k with GTB when I submitted my application in 2014 but I made sure that my POF proof exceeds required amount by 1million Naira so as to accommodate my liability.

Again this is my personal opinion based on my personal experience

Good luck

And you should know I wasn't referring to that kind of liability nah. Why would I imply that you should keep your account liability (negative balance) in your account for 6 months?

Liability=Money wey no be your own=Arrangee money

Oga!!! Why are you talking as if you do not know millions of people across the globe use borrowed funds as POF? Or do you think everyone out there has your kind of privilege?

IRCC only require applicant to show 6 months average statement, and do not need to know transactions before the 6 months count begins. For instance, if an applicant borrowed funds to shore up his accounts in January, that applicant can conveniently generates his/her account statement in July (feb-Jul financial statement) for use as POF; with no question asked from IRCC VO (because the POF document meets the requirement specified for express entry). See the link below--

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp

Purpose

To confirm whether the applicant meets the low-income cut-off (LICO), assessed by the amount of money they hold compared to the number of people in their family
Document requirements

The applicant should provide an official letter(s) from one or more financial institutions that lists all current bank and investment accounts as well as outstanding debts, such as credit card debts and loans.
o The letter(s) must be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution and must include the applicant’s name, the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and email address), the account numbers, the date each account was opened and the current balance of each account as well as the average balance for the past six months.
Other documents may also be requested, as necessary.

In view of this, when the source of your fund can't be explained in a documented statement (Gift deeds, property sales, etc), irrespective of whether its yours or not; it's very important that the applicants keeps the fund in his/her account for 6 months.

Lastly, knowing that you applied for the old FSWP program; I need to point out clearly that documents requirements and application processing for the two programs (express entry and the old fswp) differs.

Any money is eligible so far it is your money irrespective of how long it has been "your money". You should be able to prove that it is wholly yours and readily accessible.

The reason for 6 month statement is for the immigration officers to understand your cash flow and deduce if your POF is truly yours or not. If your average cash flow which is (for example) 200k suddenly shows a spike to 5million....that is highly suspicious hence you need to justify and prove the sudden spike beyond reasonable doubt.

Account statements/documented initial source of fund can be a supportive document to justify source of the fixed deposit at the early "days" of the deposit.

Please note that this is my personal opinion

Quite true if the applicant has documented proof of the source of funds (e.g sales of properties, large benefit payment, etc). Quite similar to those who use gift deeds from their parents as documented source of funds.

However, in the case where the money is borrowed or any other liability, it's important that the funds/term deposit remain in the account for 6 months.

Just to be clear, for POF held in fixed/term deposits, how long must one have held it to be eligible?

IRCC's POF specification requires a 6-months average balance statement. To be on the safe side, I would say, your fixed or term deposit should be in your account for that duration and should be en-cashed shortly before printing out your financial statement.

I assumed you were referring to IRCC POF specification and not a PNP specification.

Please, have read everything on Australia and New Zealand. ..still feels cumbersome. Don't know where to start, am under 30 with 2 dependents,2 or more years of experience. ..any hope for me? Will be glad if you can guide me through.

Australia is way easier, more streamlined and faster than the Canadian immigration process. Only that it's lot more expensive and your occupation would have to be on their Skilled Occupation List to be eligible.

Check the SOL and the consolidated Skilled list against your occupation for a start. The rest is pretty much the same process as Canada. Write IELTS and get good score (all 7 or all 8.0). Get your degree and work experience assessed by the assessing body. Create a profile on skillselect. If your points are not high enough for invitation, seek state nomination visa sub-class 190.

The diploma is issued once you pass three modules of examination. I passed all three in one sitting so it took me just one year to obtain it. For some it can take as much as 3 years. It's an international certification so I took it in Nigeria hut the diploma was sent to me from UK. I have tried using the WES equivalency tool but there is no option for diploma selection on it.

I doubt if that would land you a "2 or more degree" evaluation; however, the only way to be certain is to get evaluated. Hopefully, they would not tell you that " they do not evaluate such certificates"

In all this I'll not blame the Indonesia government. Our media is not doing enough job. If an American citizen is arrested in any country you'll the news will surface immediately and American Gov will start looking into the case and to ensure they are not vindicated of what they know not.
Meanwhile not until now of the prosecution before we Nigerians heard about it. It's now that this case is suddenly a news. So are you saying if the judgment was life imprisonment that's how we won't remember him for life?
We definitely have no excuse, Nigeria as a country don't protect its citizens.
Do you know how many Nigerians are in prison all over the world for a crime they know not?
It's only when they are about to die we can get to know. That's very bad of the media we have in this country.
So whatever have to be done was supposed to be done earlier than now.
I don't see any agency fighting against illegal imprisonment of Nigerians in foreign countries. So blame your country and not Indonesia for not taking action as at when due.

I respect American till today and I'll do all I can to become a citizen of America. God help me.
This country is a pure joke.

In this case, Indonesia wouldn't bulge to any country, irrespective of the status and plea. This same Indonesia rebuffed all plea to execute some Australians a couple of years ago. Australian government kicked and kicked to no avail.

There is dignity in silence.

This Keshi's son should learn how to close his mouth,so he does not turn our sympathy for his family into a political discuss.

Your father has not even been buried, and you want to pick a fight with the Government?are you serious?

Nigeria mourns your dad,but we owe him nothing. Your father did not serve Nigeria for free, there are those that died doing things for Nigeria for free, and their family have been gracious not to politicize anything.

There have been hundreds of Corpers, who have died serving this Country. There have been hundreds of Military people who died fighting Boko Haram.

There was Rashidi Yekini and Samuel Okwaraji, and countless others who never got the kind of money your father made from Nigeria, but even served more than him.

Yet you ungrateful lad is still complaining.

What exactly did you want from the Government?when your father left Nigeria,he went to Togo. So what does this mean?it means he was a mercenary who served different countries.

All life is special, and your dad's death is not more important than the death of any other Nigerian.

Go take a look at the videos of Boko Haram slitting the throats of our Soldiers, and yet your father died of a natural cause, far richer than the Soldiers getting their throats slit for the Country.

This over pampered boy should keep his mouth shut, and mourn his dad with dignity.

What's the one saying and who are those liking the thrash? Keep quiet while the government's ignoble disposition to patriots continue, whether soldiers or athletes? Leadership and democracy is all about the people you lead; and if the leaders you voted are irresponsible, the onus lies with the people to articulate their mind. Keshi's son has done that; and we need more and more people to do that, until the government change their ways.

Furthermore, I have noticed you are in the habit of supporting this government even if it's so glaring they are wrong. It's a very ugly thing to do.

If you get an ITA now, try and get your mum prepare a gift deed for you -- stating that the money was completely a gift with no obligation to refund it. Otherwise, it's wise to allow the money rest in your account for a minimum of 6 months.

If your POF is found to be inadequate (does not meet the specification in the requirement documentation), your application may be rejected without any fairness letter.

You can apply right away. If there is any doubt, they will ask for another POF at the appropriate time.
Although it may raise a suspicion, so be ready to answer any query from them.
Just get your bank statement and that should be good.

I have seen people denied visa because of POF, even without receiving any fairness letter. In fact, a dude was denied after 4 months of processing for a quite similar reason (POF with money sourced from his dad). And this dude was not lucky enough to get a fairness letter because the VO was convinced beyond doubt that his POF was inadequate.

I would not advice him to apply right away without a gift deed from his mum. Otherwise, he would have to leave the funds in his account for 6 months.

Good morning pals. I have a question that has been bugging my kind and need your kind assistance to clarify. On simulating my CRS score using the CRS calculator tool on CIC website, I discovered I would get only 430 points which is below the 450benchmark for EE without PNP. I have only a B.Sc and 5years work experience in manufacturing management. I have a diploma in Brewing certificate from the institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD) UK. If this diploma can be evaluated I can fill in 2 or more certificates in the CRS Calculator and my score will leap to 462. I am moving with my spouse and 1 kid and POF is already sorted out.

My question is can my IBD diploma be evaluated and which of the ECA bodies do you think will do this right.

Cc dupyshoo irondome bigfido

What's the duration of your diploma? Not sure how accurate WES online equivalence tool is? You may want to try that out. Ultimately, the only way to be certain is to get the degrees evaluated. If both degrees were obtained in the UK, you may go with WES

Thank you for shedding light on it. By goofy am guessing you mean bogus or not truthful in the visit visa application right?

Not truthful. You should also be clear on your visit intention, with very little room for doubt.

Assessing dual intent: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/dual.asp

Having two intents – one for temporary residence and one for permanent residence – is legitimate. This section addresses how to apply subsection A22(2) of the IRPA to the decision-making process, and to clarify that the issue of dual intent affects all categories of immigration applications.

A22(2) states “An intention by a foreign national to become a permanent resident does not preclude them from becoming a temporary resident if the officer is satisfied that they will leave Canada by the end of the period authorized for their stay.” Dual intent is present when a foreign national who has applied for permanent residence in Canada also applies to enter Canada for a temporary period as a visitor, worker or student. Dual intent on the part of the applicant is therefore not prima facie grounds for refusal of temporary resident status.
Assessing dual intent

A person’s desire to apply for permanent resident status in Canada may be legitimate. An officer should distinguish between an applicant whose intentions are bona fide and an applicant who has no intention of leaving Canada at the end of their authorized stay if the application for permanent residence is refused.
In assessing bona fide, the individual circumstances of the temporary resident applicant must be examined; refusals of non-bona fide temporary residents may only withstand legal challenge when the refusal is based on the information related to the specific case before an officer.

In assessing an application for temporary residence an officer may also consider factors such as:

the length of time that the client will be spending in Canada;
the means of support;
obligations and ties in the home country; and
compliance with requirements of the IRPA and Regulations applicable to temporary residents (visitors, students and workers).

If an officer has concerns/doubts about the applicant’s bona fide, the applicant must be made aware of these concerns and given an opportunity to respond to them. If an application for temporary residence is not approved, the CIC visa officer will provide the client with a letter explaining why an application has been refused.

Temporary residence status might be refused for several reasons, including:

history of having contravened the conditions of admission on a previous stay in Canada;
lack of or insufficient proof of adequate funds to support oneself while in Canada, and to affect one’s departure from Canada;
medical inadmissibility;
not satisfying the visa officer that the individual will leave Canada at the end of their period of authorized stay.

Well said. Your friend was fortunate; the letter was done for him "codedly". cheesy

I called my PFA this morning and asked if they could write such letter on my behalf. The agent paused to confirm and gave me feedback that they don't write such letters.

However, she told me that I can have access to 25% of pension contributions 4 months after leaving my job even if I have relocated abroad.

My take: Apparently, RSA may not be used as the primary POF but probably as a support since CIC would require funds that are unencumbered.

Anyone who intends to use it as additional POF MAY get: RSA statement of account; copy of the Pension Reform Act and asterisked clearly where it was stated that an individual has access to it 4 months after leaving current job and get it notarized supporting it with a brief explanation of how he can have access to the fund once PR is attained. Just my opinion!

irondome, zandora, dupyshoo, JesusDWay, iphie25, beyunce, Etfash what do you say? wink

You just re-iterated my initial opinion. Any PFA that issue a financial statement to imply that their clients can immediately access all their funds is questionable; no ethical PFA would do that. Typically, the rule guiding PFA only allows access to 25%, which the applicant isn't eligible for until after 4 months of joblessness.

However, if anyone knows someone "personally" who had a successful application with "new express entry system" using the PFA statement as POF, then the person may try his/her luck.

You and ur wife shouldn't have let it get that frequent. Its not a behaviour to encouraged and breeds over familiarity and disrespect. Another thing is when she started complaining about her marriage to u people, you should have known the kind of woman she was. That woman can set u up, she can cause issues between u and ur wife . She is not a wise person to associate with. However its not late to disassociate urself. Distance urself from their issues. Stop calling the woman. E no concern u. Let the man and his family sort it out. It would surprise u that when they are talking about their wahala or name would be mentioned. Over familiarity between neighbours dey always bring insult.

The best post on this topic!!!! If I were the OP, I would have given her red card from my house, the very day she ignored her husband arrival and opted to stay back in my house.

There are few, but fundamental things every lady should know, in order to have a successful marriage; 1. Contentment. 2. Respect. 3. Privacy (don't discuss your marriage with friends, that way, you don't compare marriages. 4. Partnership (make conscious effort to help build the kind of marriage you want with your partner).

That lady in the story lacked all these.

as much as I want to understand their plight, I do not think they have gotten to the point where they should be fighting for money

Their lack of qualification for the U20 will not hurt Pinnick or his job, it will hurt their careers. A few like Nwakali and Osimhen may have foreign clubs already, but what about the likes of Orji Okonkwo still looking to get a good deal? These international competitions raise players profiles

They have the opportunity to do something special, to win an U20 World Cup for the first time in Nigerian history and second in Africa, and they want to throw it away because they haven't been paid?

When you're trying to establish yourself, money should not be your concern. Getting your name out there should be the target.

Now, if these threats to boycott are on behalf of the coaches, I can wholly understand that and support them, but if it's the players, then no, I do not support that. If the senior boys are boycotting games, what makes these teenagers think they can do same?

These folks are being owed for work done since their under 17 matches for crying out loud!!!, same goes with the Nigerian coaches (who have families to take care of) being owed. This explains why I cringe when I read of the insults you guys hurl at these patriotic folks.

This is a new low for NFF
