Good showing from the Flying Eagles.  Better to go down fighting, than to capitulate.  You're never too young to learn that life lesson.

There'll be lots of other tourneys for them to show what they've learned from this one.

Bravo! smiley

That Monsieur Lacacerte Frogface or what's his face just elbowed the Naija goalkeeper in the stomach; I hope they kick him in the head - accidentally, of course.

Accursed commentator is writing us off: "3-1, that'll probably be enough to send French (Frogs) to Semi-Final," he said.  Creep!

RM score to even it up.

Pepe takes down a Barca player.

Players confronting referee, looking for at least a yellow for the Brazilian/Potugeezer.

El Clasico Supercopa de Espana

Season is starting off inauspiciously for Los Blancos.  Barca are imposing their will yet again.

RM scored first, but Messi and David Villa, with the help of Messi, made it Real Madrid 1 - 2 Barcelona by Half-time.  The Special One not looking so special  undecided

Watching USA-Mexico futbol "friendly."

It won't be that friendly.  The two football teams are rivals and the fans despise each other, with the Chicanos nursing a specially satisfying hatred for Landon Donovan.  Some legend about him engaging inappropriate behaviour in the presence of Mexicanos, or sum-such.  undecided

I Ching: The Book of Changes
A Guide by Brian B. Walker

(Hexagram: Lake and Water)

47 K'UN / OPPRESSION (EXHAUSTION)
An unavoidable time of adversity.
Quiet strength insures a later success.

It is a time of oppresson and exhaustion.  None of us escapes such moments; they are simply a part of living.  By meeting them in the correct spirit and cheerfully bending instead of breaking, you weather the adversity and meet with success at a later time.

Inferior elements, either in one's self, another, or the larger world, interfere now to restrain the superior person.  It is foolish to fight agaisnt the restraint; success is simply not possible now.  Rid yourself of the desire to progress and return to neutrality and acceptance.  The stubborn pursuit of results will bring misfortune.

With others, quietness and equanimity are the watchwords of the moment. Say little, and say it gently.  A similar reticense and gentleness should be applied to yourself.  Do not lapse into impatience or mistrust of the Deity.  Accept that the Creative often works in a way that we cannot see or understand.

A feeling of despair or depression is a sign that you are holding a false belief.  To perpetuate an untruth about yourself, another, or the Sage is to block your own happiness.  Root out and remove any idea or attitude which causes negative feelings.

By opening your mind, quieting your heart, and calmly holding to proper principles, you make it possible for the Creative to eliminate the oppression that currently exists.

Ojukwu is dead

. . . Events later worsened, leading Odumegwu-Ojukwu to declare that the Igbos would secede from Nigeria and form a sovereign state, called Biafra. A civil war ensued in 1967 and ended in 1970 with Odumegwu Ojukwu leaving the country on self exile. After 13 years, the federal government granted him an official pardon and he returned in 1982. He was chosen by APGA as its presidential candidate for the April 2007 elections, which was won by Olusegun Obasanjo.
Reads like the Daily Times was hacked!  How could they print something as the bolded?  They're really sunk in recent years!

Here is the idiot writer refuting his own article. lol

Shouldn't the Saudi keeper have gotten a red for that trip on the scorer?  The referee is a butthead!  Looked like he was instead looking to give the boy a yellow for celebrating.

Good run-up and follow-through!

2007/2008 were the worst years to be on this section but we pulled through it was not easy, we were doing well, i guess the lack of interest from muslims, most of whom generally avoided this section caused it.
See my earlier post.

Also we have some muslims on here who feel they know better or are better than others and  they try to make others feel less/bad about  themselves also caused the withdrawal . .sadly sad

Not in small part due to the extremely poor moderating of this section.  People are not going to continue to come here where Muslims want to talk with others of like minds but instead are assaulted by jobless retards that freely roam Nairaland unchecked!

I agree that it takes a sharp wit and keen intellect to deliver a message in as few words as possible.  One poster exhibits that talent again and again.

The poster in question is the Peckhamese-Nigerian prince MR CORK.

I can't say enough about our wonderful MR CORK, but I'll restrain myself, less he thinks I have an interest in a NLDer obsessed with nyansh and light-skin girls.  grin

I'm not fighting a gender war either, trust me on that.

I only object to blaming the woman or using her decision/answer as an excuse for the man or anyone's future behaviour.  Each person is responsible for himself.  That is all I meant, and have, to say on the matter.  smiley
