Seun:Where was it before? From 2011. I think I posted in this thread way back when. Christmastime. ![]() |
macof:It's a bunch of bullsh!tt! I can't even read any of his posts here all the way through. Never even saw his moniker before. You don't need a mod to deal with his fuckups. Just treat him like the bum he is. |
DeCleff:Its not just about the food; you guys escalated things by your reaction and counterreactions. You could have handed things better before it got out of hand. |
DeCleff:I'm on their side. Sorry. |
periwyte2:Thank you, sir. I always have interest in Ogoni culture since reading that they are one of the oldest settlement in Nigeria and many tribes may have come from them. I was in the library with a few people within view of my laptop screen, and directly in front of the children section - no kids were there.I was so excited wanting to see picture of traditional Ogoni wedding attire. Anyway, nothing wrong with it; it's tradition (maybe not Ogoni). Just let people know there will be naked pics in there. Walahi! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogoni_people According to oral tradition, the Ogoni people migrated from ancient Ghana down to the Atlantic coast eventually making their way over to the eastern Niger Delta. Linguistic calculations done by Kay Williams place the Ogoni in the Niger Delta since before 15 BC, making them one of the oldest settlers in the eastern Niger Delta region. Radiocarbon dating taken from sites around Ogoniland and the neighboring communities oral traditions also support this claim |
". . . arrested for thumb-printing ballot papers at a private residence during the gubernatorial election rerun. . . " What's the evidence? I don't see anywhere in the article that a "thumb-printing machine" was found. Salam, TBaba! |
adino:Really? Why?Bolarge1:Shi!!t like that happens everywhere; not just in Nigeria. She wouldn't have been appointed again by any governor or president after all the controversy, but if her constituencies vote her in an election, then there is nothing you can do. As long as she is constitutionally eligible for the office and the electoral commission rules does not bar her candidacy. Remember, in the USA, the voters of Washington DC reelected Marion Barry as mayor even after he was shown on camera doing drugs. njays24:Is she really Igbo? She could be of any tribe, but married to an Igbo man. Lots of Naijas have European first or second names. But if she is Igbo, that's good for Lagos's rep. Next I want to see Afam4eva as Governor of Lagos State. Afam, it will happen. Just keep saying No to tribalism. I support you wella. You know it. Start preparing yourself, bros. In 2023, we will travel all over Lagos. . . covering every nook and cranny . . . visiting all the towns big and small. . . even that ornery Mayoroflagos will be there routing for you. . . . a massive unprecedented raucous campaign! I know you speak fluent Yoruba, We will campaign everywhere and make history. Hip Hip! Hurray!!! The Honorable Afam Moderator. You can banish Seun from the internet and take over Nairaland. Takim107:Wonderful! Augustbreak:Nice. Whether you be lady or gent. Chinom:Nothing wrong with diversity and more equitable representation. But, trust me, the politicians wanting those spots will not be hostile and talk like Tribalists on Nairaland. They know what they need to get elected. I do think it is a plus to see the Igbos and other groups that have a sizable population in Lagos get prominent and meaningful posts, elected or appointed. The Lagos House of Assembly, I believe, conducts business in Yoruba - so you know the ones who will get in there will be Lagosians through and through. It will be truly uniting to see a non-Yoruba born or raised in Lagos mingling with all the other Assemblymen and women speaking Yoruba like a native. It will make news and inspire a lot of young people who may think simply because their grandpapas compound is in another state, they can never reach their full potential in Lagos (government). No child should have to feel they are limited and cannot do what their friends are doing, simply for something they have no control over. naijainfogalery: eskober:I didn't see it either. Unless he's talking about this one below, but it came after his post. Probably just in his mind :LKO: |
bisten14:www.nairaland.com/attachments/2350164_image_jpeg9f360c5ab7736510df54c882e9dbf188 A hero for the ages! I think he's from Kwara, but I'm gonna claim him for Lagos. He looks so much like a classmate of mine named Oshodi. Will Buhari ever have the likes of Idiagbon working by his side again? Naija will be great |
Horlufemi:I am sure he will investigate them all. But someone - lots of someones - are very nervous about this particular group theft and there's a lot of machinations going on behind the scenes in many quarters . . . |
SeverusSnape:Not presidential material. Too bad. |
Edygrin:Did they kill Nigerians? I didn't hear that. I recall the last time we had serious diplomatic issues with them? I wonder what they're saying on their forums now. Boy oh boy! 2012 Visa controversy, Nigeria-SA. https://www.nairaland.com/890816/south-africans-reacts-govt.s-appology/2#10372409 ( They really weren't bad, back then. I read their comments and most of them were pretty low-key. Their anger was more at their government thsn us. But, trust my Naija peeps that invaded their forum! http://www.sowetanlive.co.za/news/2012/03/08/south-africa-apologises-to-nigeria?filter=all_comments ) |
Zandyslaux:He should not be announcing these sort of things before he's been sworn in. ![]() |
fidnas:This is somebody's wife? |
AWESOME! We need more!! Many more!!! ![]() Of course, some crooks will finagle their way in there too. Just like their male counterparts. Humans are humans regardless of gender. We still need more women though. Good ones! Same as (good) men. Women were born to lead; Men are born to rise up and save the day when needed - to be heroic. ![]() Viva la femme! https://www.nairaland.com/1270134/great-african-women-history https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkxDOlm7GEQ |
MzJackBaueress:Did they really put their eggs in one basket though? What is the percentage of Igbos that voted for Buhari vs those that voted PDP, APGA or the parties? Unless 85% of them voted for someone other than Buhari then you know I wouldn't say they put all the eggs in one basket. I doubt that the electoral commission keeps records of demographics based on race or tribe but we can get statistics about geographical regions, locations, LGAs, states. . . and see what percentage of the majority of those people voted Buhari. I don't have an idea but I doubt that over 75% of votes cast in the East were against Buhari. We do know there are APC supporters in the Eastern part of the country so I'm curious to know final demographic statistics. If you know please post it. Thank you, Ada Berem. Btw, what'd you do to your favorite APC mod turned Buhari-hater? I no dey see his name amongst moderators again o. ![]() |
cyberguy72:Uhmmm . . . NO! |
GenBuhari:How so, my brother? Who should be sworn in as VP? |
Someone tell my good pal GenBuhari to worry less; that the general is being protected by some and they're taking precautionary measures. ![]() Bawss1:I dey suspect you o. BTW I thought it was believed that Buhari had no house in Abuja, how come this report says he had been operating out of his private residence in Asokoro?Maybe he was renting it during the campaign. You need a large house to coordinate. He can't be in a hotel for all that time. Anyway, off to Maitama for some sight seeing. |
FriedPlantain: No mind them o jare. ![]() |
akinzeb:You don't say? But Nairalanders love to say Northerners don't go to school. ![]() |
okpismart:Don't they already? For years now. I have to say, the man sounds more credible. If, as the wife counterclaims, the husband is the one that beats her, why then is she opposed to the customary court dissolving the marriage? Also, she said she used to cook for him when he gave her money. That means she is now starving him? For what? If you don't want to cook for him, or he has no more money, and he beats you after 32 years of marriage, why then not let him go? She may very well have bested the man in a fight. He sounds weak, mentally and physically. Probably in poor health also - after so many beatings. . . He's already retired at 55? She's turned his children against him? That guy's broken, mehn. I hate divorce, but give the man his freedom. |
BlackGirlsCode:Not if they're half-siblings. A is the half-sibling of B. B is half sibling of C. C and A have no blood relationship. |
Nicepoker:Are you mad?! |
Ishilove:No way! Coogar no get girlfriend. I think it's that Chaircover woman from the Family section. Seems like the type. I'm surprised there isn't a young girl standing next to her with a bowl of water to wash her hand. I kid I jest. ![]() |
prettyrosiemua:Self-defense He thought the man was in the process of assault on his wife and he went for him but missed. ![]() Stand your ground ![]() Damn, it's a shame sha? Did they get a statement from the wife before she passed on? He needs good counsel. Don't tell them squat! ![]() PAGAN9JA:It's not unusual: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/tv-host-found-man-wife-shot-killed-murder-suicide-article-1.1284437 |
