oyaskii: As per multiple reports emanating today, Netflix have exited the Nigerian market sighting soaring inflation, losing subscriber base due to a tumble in the exchange rate and the general hellish business conditions here.
And who could blame them? They have made so much investment in Nollywood since entering the market some years ago, and they are yet to even receive a fraction of it back, with dwindling subscriber base. I can't blame my people either, bone crushing poverty is no joke. As much as we would like to portray this faux affluence online, the average Nigerian is really really poor, and entertainment escapism like Netflix, is not even on their agenda, they are just living life from day to day, amid an economic shîtstorm that seems to have no end...
I am curious to know, what all these mean for all the investments and ongoing plans they had for Nollywood, surely they will all go cold now. The government keep deceiving themselves that the economic is getting better with cooked up numbers, but nothing in reality suggest that....This hellhole is were dreams go to die, poverty HQ of the world for a reason and i am not even prophet but i have a feeling that things will get ridiculously worse for a long time, before we even begin to see some remote good changes 😔
DaddyJapan: In the rest of the interview, Dele Farotimi actually alleges that his own case for libel (against Afe Babalola) was set aside by a Judge who officiated at his (Farotimi's) wedding in 2003. The inference being that the said judge was in the pocket of Afe Babalola. No be small matter o.
gigabyte13: Shebi you be man So because she be lieutenant, make she turn herself to MC oluomo because of you. Act like Man You are to protect her and her children not the other way round..... Bro grow up Man Take responsibility. No be you go dey tell her when to fight for you , when it is time to, nobody go tell her.
Ringstonermasks: d idiots that beat nd bullied my boy nd was nearly beaten to death. I don't need police to handle this, i don't even need any soldier to handle it, since she can't handle it, we are done.
I will snap d boy's pictures @d hospital tomorrow
Oga, nothing concern army for this matter. Go and meet the police
pocohantas: I must commend your wife. You want her to go fight your battles and when she is caught, the narrative would be how women were not created to handle power.
The police is there for civil cases. Go call them.
The woman respects her uniform and rank. Obviously, he wants her to use her position to sort out every minor issue when in reality the army is not meant to interfere in civil matters that do not threaten national security.
People were confused at first because it was alledged that he defamed a lot of people, including Tony Elumelu. He had been invited to Zone 2 Headquarters in Lagos over a pettition that was written on behalf of Tony Elumelu.
However, the policemen that arrested him took him to Ekiti State and it is believed to be because of a petition by Afe Babalola. Chief Afe Babalola lives in Ekiti and he had written a petition against Dele Farotimi.
Is this legal? Shouldn't there be a warrant first before an arrest is made, considering the nature of the alleged crime?
These are very heavy allegations. The onus lies on him now to defend his accusations with concrete evidence because he is taking on a Goliath, but is he a David?
Lioness5280: Abeg stop blackmailing us with nonsense and lies . You spearheaded what fight ? . Then what was the role of Tanzania, Zambia, Angola,Cuba,Russia, Afro Americsns if you were spearheading the fight? and what was our own role ? You people make me laugh .
What world is moving past xenophobia? . The West, lead by Trump? . Nigga, stop dreaming . People are sick and tired of immigrants everywhere, you as migrants are the only ones who fail to see this
African nationals must respect the laws of the country to be accepted and that starts with immigration laws, can they do that ? Or their black skin makes them incapable of this simple gesture?
And leave Mandela out of this, he kept the borders shut before he left office because he knew you blackmailers would come in numbers with your excuses and whining[.
Trash. You call the truth "blackmail and rubbish" because you and your hateful comrades cannot handle the truth.
As for the questions you asked and your comment about Mandela, I will not engage you further in your willful ignorance (which seems to characterise this present generation of South Africans). Go and get yourself educated before coming online to display your embarrassing lack of common sense. Use the same internet you lots use to mouth off to research on the role of Nigeria and other countries in ending apartheid.
Also, realise that South Africans do not hold the monopoly of violence and hatred. A time will come when other countries will retaliate and give back the same energy that your people have been giving and getting away with.
shadrach77: Life sha! Someone who isn't even as popular as Michael Jackson
During MJ's lifetime she wasn't even qualified enough to clean his boots 👢
And MJ ruled in an era where there was no social media and the digital advancements of the 21st century, to the extent even people in remote villages knew who he was. He is the true LEGEND and the GOAT
Lioness5280: South Africans scattered in Nigeria or in poor countries?🙆♂️😂😂. If that is so,please deport them embarrassing fckers . Any country we chase away must also chase us away from their shores; fair enough? . Backward mentality is when you're always expecting to be accommodated by others without doing much to clean your own house, you become a liability and and nuisance especially if you carry your criminality everywhere like your people.
The world is trying to move past pettiness and xenophobbia, yet you young, hot blooded South Africans are trying to draw us back. You people are too young to remember when the whole of Africa rose up against apartheid in your country, with Nigeria spearheading the fight, which is why you lots revel in hatred and animosity of other African nationals living in your territories. The same countries that united to fight for SA.
The rubbish you people are doing is not what Mandela spent 27 years of his life in prison for and the old man must be rolling in his grave.
RandDigital: Stay hungry in your countries lady. Xenophobia problem solved.
So should other countries start asking South Africans in their territories to start leaving? You guys seem to have forgotten you have comrades in scattered all over the world too.
This kind of mentality you people are displaying is backward and despicable
GloriousGbola: The woman is likely gnashing her teeth and hoping for the best. Serving in the US military was a confam path to citizenship before the maga
Nigeria is royally fvcked, but I sometimes get irritated when I see Nigerians in diaspora rejecting their Nigerian identity
He has complimented me many times on how amazing I am, and how well I perform my duties as his lady. On Valentines Day this year, he even decorated our room and he had the word WIFE written with flowers
I stumbled on this story online, complete with pictures and I chuckled throughout my time reading.
When a man is getting all the marriage benefits and refuses to do the needful, well, I guess it is time to get creative. Cunny man die, cunny man bury am.
Enjoy
He doesn’t know we’re married….
So, we dated for about 2 years and I decided I was ready to get married and settle down. About 3 years ago, he told me that he was saving up for a ring and that he wanted to surprise me with the proposal of my dreams!!! ❤️
Lo & behold, a few months passed, and STILL no proposal. I asked him when he planned on doing it, and he told me he had simply “changed his mind.” Why would he buy the cow when he is already getting the milk for free 😭
I felt like he scammed me, and I was done letting men scam me. Fed uppp. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I found a man on the Internet who looked just like him, and while he was sleeping I went ahead and took his ID along with his birth certificate. I offered his look alike who happened to be pretty much homeless $1,000 to come to the courthouse with me, and we did the thangggg 🙌🏾🙌🏾😮💨🤸🤸😁
We’ve been married now for almost two years, and I’ve never been happier. I am moving and behaving like a wife in every sense. I’ve been cooking everyday, washing laundry, and taking great care of my husband. He has complimented me many times on how amazing I am, and how well I perform my duties as his lady. On Valentines Day this year, he even decorated our room and he had the word WIFE written with flowers, I thought, how ironic!!! Little does he know, I’m his wife 😍😮💨😇
My question is, how do I tell him we are official now? Should I just hope that he changes his mind and eventually proposes on his own once he sees how amazing I am? We are past the 1 year mark, so I no longer have to worry about an annulment, which is great! We went on vacation about a week after our ceremony, and for me, it was our honeymoon. We’ve never been happier, I just really need him to be onboard with all of this. He noticed I was wearing a ring on my ring finger, and I told him it was to keep other men away!! He jokingly mentioned how good it looks. I’m tired of keeping our marriage a secret, and I feel like he has a right to know!!! Any advice appreciated.
doggedfighter: Why's her situation in UK that pathetic to the extent sleeping on sofa without a permanent home and asking for placement for a 2 year old?
And she got pregnant with a British son in that condition too.
Was she prohibited from bringing her toddler along while visiting her sick brother ?
It's situations like this that makes one value family and community support one gets back home.
My questions exactly. In the search for a better life, may we not encounter this kind of harrowing tragedy
