Ronaldinho is many steps above the class of Neymar
Seriously who did us the disfavor of calling Neymar?? I didn't even see that.

I don't even want to delve into Xavi/Ronaldinho argument, it's going to be so disrespectful to Dinho. Xavi was class but Dinho was out of this world.. You guys too dey forget things oo. Na RONALDINHO oooo.
The argument is now getting clownish from some people. I will summarily withdraw from such a stupid argument.

A Ronaldinho type of player will be hard to come across again. THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS THIS. Nuff said.

If Xavi can pick a through pass through 7 players(technique)

Can combine with two to three players(technique)

And has great vision (technique)

How can you say Ronaldinho was a better technical player than him?
Xavi is better with the vision. That's all. They're both excellent players to grace the game but on the ball? Oh my! Dinho is a God.

Na wa. Technique has to do with on the ball ability. How does coming once every 100 years show Xavi was more gifted on the ball than Ronaldinho?

Is Xavi more gifted on the ball than Ronaldinho?
Impossible.

A good team wouldn't afford them that chance to score that goal, as the Zims did. In fact, if the Zim right side was half as good as the left side, Mahmoud would have been subbed out before the goal. Knowledge Musona is a joke

Did u see what Khama was doing with their midfield and defense, only for his attackers to let him down?
Billiat tried his best. Quite the entertainer.

To me, I don't see anything special about Egypt even with Salah and their weather. Once Salah is marked out, the team looks so ordinary. The Zim LB did a good job on Salah yesterday, that Salah got the better of him only thrice throughout the duration of the match. All what the team does, is to get the ball to Salah, then stand idly waiting for Salah to perform magic

I dont consider Egypt favourites, they dont have what it takes.
So you noticed that too? The guy totally pocketed the Pharaoh. However. I didn't rush to praise the LB simply because he is largely unknown to me.

On Egypt they are very strong team in this AFCON. You're using recency bias (from the World Cup) to judge them though you're right on they depending on Salah. Yet the same Salah had no hand in their goal yesterday. Trezeguet and the other fellow combined to get the goal.

At the end of voting, it was decided by our threadmates that Ronaldinho is a more technical player than Xavi, havinf edged him out 13-9

Wow. I didn't even make a choice at the time, I got distracted. However, I wouldn't have picked any over the other. They're both EXCELLENTLY technical players.

This is first tournament I'll be critiquing Rohr's tactics. The Nigerian team has an array of attacking talents at its disposal now than it has had in a long time. If Rohr can't bring them to score GOALS then something is definitely wrong.

OK. If strength is about quality of players, at least 2 countries are stronger than Nigeria.
My brother I woke up with a clear head and modified my earlier summation. The strongest countries going into the AFCON are Egypt and Senegal with Nigeria and some other countries just a little behind.

Coming to your own summation, strength is not just about quality of players, it has been demonstrated severally that a team with just a sprinkle of quality can beat a much more quality side.. How these players move together as a team is more important.

Define strength
The strength of a team is it's capacity to achieve the two primary tactical objectives in a game i.e to score goals against the opponent and to prevent the opponent from scoring.

Strongest in terms of what??

Assuming they weren't the host, how would u have ranked them ?
Still the Strongest. I didn't rank them strongest because they're hosting. Hosting in this kind of single tie per game tournament is only a slight advantage.

Being stingy kills a player's game.

Egypt remains the strongest team going into this tournament, in my estimation.
