History always repeats itself.

In 2009 when the price of crude oil collapsed to $35 from $148 in 2008, the naira came under intense pressure. Soludo refused to allow the naira to depreciate from around 120 where it was.. He started introducing forex restrictions.

The naira however depreciated from 120 to 190 at the black market, a difference of up to 70naira. Before the difference was not more than 2naira.

When Sanusi came in that year, he immediately devalued the naira at the official rate to 150. Immediately, the black market rose from 190 to around 155.

If Buhari should devalue the naira between 230 and 240, the black market will converge with the official rate.
If not for a collapse in the system--- a rot which was allowed to fester because of previous irresponsible Governments--- shouldn't you be asking yourself why you have a black market for currency?

Will Nigerians die without milk ?
You have millions of cattle yet you cannot produce milks.
You have gas yet cannot provide electricity
You have rivers but cannot provide water
You have crude oil yet import petrol
You have thousands of cobblers yet import most of your shoes.
You have tens of thousands of tailors yet you import Tokunbo bras and pants.
If the businesses who need raw material that can be sourced locally cannot do so , they deserve to die .
Nigerians are just mentally lazy. Look at them arguing with you as if they know what they're talking about.

What happened to the Reserves? Oh, thats true, there's none. GEJ and his cronies thought Mansions and private jets were more important.

Brace for tougher times ahead, Okonjo-Iweala tells Nigerians -NOV 2014

http://www.premiumtimesng.com/business/171145-brace-tougher-times-ahead-okonjo-iweala-tells-nigerians.html

THE AIM OF DIGGING UP THIS ARTICLE:

Pleae note: Madam Okonjor made this assertions in November 2014.

1. This is to remind the Wailing Wailers who keep attacking the current minister of Finance that the ex Finance Minister whom they so much believe in and whom they believe would have been a messiah sounded the alarm of a very tough economy ahead even when oil was still as high as 76usd per barrel. Do I need to remind anyone the price of oil per barrel now?

2. The ex Minister of Finance only saw a need to block revenue leakages when Oil prices started dropping low. Was any action taken after her suggestion? No!!! Rather, despite the dwindling oil prices, CBN became am ATM to allies of the president, where raw Dollars/Naira where withdrawn/tansferred under the guise of phantom projects, bogus subsidy claims, arms procurements. Etc. Now we are suffering of dollar crunch.

Who came on board to block the leakages? The new Sheriff off course, President Buhari.

3. If at $76/per barrel, Madam Okonjor was already ringing bells, why do the Wailing Wailers expect a booming economy from a government which is less than a year in office, and currently selling oil at $28 per barrel? Rather than wailing, they should rather support the government in steps taken to move Nigeria forward.

4. Madam Okonjor needs to explain to Nigerians why Nigeria was not saving for the dry season when oil was sold well above $100 per barrel. What happened to all the revenues generated when oil was booming? We only had booming economy on papers, ordinary Nigerians never felt a booming economy under her watch.

To the Wailing Wailers:

President Buhari have succeeded in blocking a lot of revenue leakages, and is driving seriously for non oil revenue generations as it is evident in the changes made in the Nigeria Customs, FIRS, and the appointment of learned scholar Dr. kayode Fayemi as the minister of Solid minerals.Etc

We have also seen efforts to recover stolen money even though some term it political witch hunting. The almost dead EFCC whose duty was reduced to chasing Internet fraudsters popularly known as Yahoo boys have suddenly rosen up to their responsibilities. Fraudsters like Olisah Metuh, Dansuki and the likes are already feeling the heat.

Efforts to recover stollen money is also a form of blocking revenue leakages.

The fact remains that APC led government can not correct the 16 years rot of PDP in less than a year and it is illogical to blame the current economic woes on the newly elected president. Only the blind will not see President Buhari is really working to make Nigeria great again.

SO FAR SO GOOD, PRESIDENT BUHARI IS PERFORMING ECONOMIC MIRACLES, HE HAS NOT EVEN BORROWED TO PAY ANY SALARIES

God bless the Federal Rubublic of Nigeria

NB: I am a die hard APC supporter with No Apologies!!!!
If you go to my old posts, I put up similar articles as far back as 2013 warning Nigeria about "Future" low oil prices and the need to curb wastage; I was met with insults. Most of those posts were deleted when (suspected) PDP miscreants hacked this site and started removing posts unfavorable to the ineffectual buffoon's reelection. One or two still remain, I think.

Nigerians just lack critical thinking and foresight. Hopefully, all this will be corrected in the next generation if the Government funds education as its supposed to because most of this generation is lost already, and the powers that be should just accept that sad fact.

PoliticsRe: Soldier Batters Driver In Lagos For Sneering At Him (photo) by ISpiksDaTroof: 10:41am On Feb 19, 2016
These kinds of things are the results of corruption.

The money meant for the training of the Military and the driver on how to conduct themselves in civilized manners have been siphoned yet some people defend the corrupt class not understanding the impact on their lives.

For example, why are military officers on civilian streets? If adequate funds had been put in proper places, this is the job of the police. Simply turn on your blue lights, pull the erring driver to the side, check that his license is valid using the database in your squad car's computer, issue him a ticket if you think he's at fault and let him go settle it with the courts; you've done your job.

In fact, no human interaction is even needed if cameras that can capture your license plates are put in place. Once the radar detects that you violated a traffic law e.g beat a red light, or went over the speed limit, a ticket is mailed to your address on file and you either pay the fine, incur penalties or spend time and money going to court to plead your innocence.

It's so easy to get a society to run efficiently, but corruption has messed up Nigerians so bad that they don't even know their rights from their left anymore.

At the end of the whole *Bae, am I beautiful?*parade the sales attendant calculated the total sum to be #29,500.

When I checked my pocket, I found out that I had only 29k on me. I forgot we bought fuel on our way.
So, I told my girlfriend to borrow me 1k...and I promised to return later in the day, but she said "Babe, I swear to god, I don't have any money on me at the moment"
So, to safe the embarrassment, I went to the ATM to get more money. We paid and left.

To cut the story short. When we got home, she went to ease herself in the rest room, while I was in the living room.
Then her phone began to ring so, I opened her bag to get the phone, but I was shocked by what I saw.
I saw 1thousand naira notes inside her bag. Na so I vex comot all the money put am for my pocket. Later, she come dey ask if I took any money from her bag and I replied "I thought you don't have any money on you"

I returned the money though, but I've been angry since yesterday.

SOHO SHOULDN'T DENY NNAMDI KANU BAIL BASED ON 'PROBABILITY RULING'
Thursday, 18 February 2016
JUSTICE JOHN TSOHO SHOULDN'T DENY NNAMDI KANU BAIL, BASED ON 'PROBABILITY RULING'
By Ibeh Gift Amarachi
For Family Writers
No where in the World where a Judge will make a ruling based on probability, Constitution and Laws will forever supersede probability and its stand in any Court of jurisdiction. If a Judge makes rulings based on probability, it means, that very Judge is not competent enough and should be fired. Justice John Tsoho made a ruling on the 29 of January at the Federal High Court Abuja and in his statement "Nnamdi Kanu will not be granted bail, because he is 'LIKELY TO JUMP BAIL' due to his dual possession of passport".
TSOHOI have exposed the meaningless, baseless and unconstitutional violation of the human right of Citizen Nnamdi Kanu the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, due to his dual citizenship. But, it is very paramount to let the World know that, the total reasons for the denial of bail of Citizen Nnamdi Kanu by Justice John Tsoho the puppet Judge of tyrant Mohammadu Buhari, who is actually in charge of Citizen Nnamdi Kanu's case,is totally Fraudulent, Unconstitutional, Illegal, A violation of Citizen Nnamdi Kanu's right and a slap on not just Nigeria judiciary but every Court of jurisdiction.
I will like to drag your attention to this probability ruling "BECAUSE HE IS LIKELY TO JUMP BAIL". What an insult to the Court of jurisdiction, which indicates that Justice John Tsoho schooled in an environment, that is not conducive for learning, for him not to have understood what he was taught in Law School. It is only a Judge with good training that wouldn't let a Hundred Million Naira bribe becloud his thought of reasoning, by not making rulings based on the Law to expose his standard of education. One will ask, what moves are members of the Nigeria Judiciary taking, in other to stop the dragging of Nigeria judiciary into the mud by Justice John Tsoho through Citizen Nnamdi Kanu's case? Just speaking against this barbaric ruling in your bedroom, has no effect in the removal of the stain on the white cloth of Law. An unabated action must be taken, because a probability ruling is a slap to every court of jurisdiction.
You don't use a dicey and probability ruling, to keep ones right in hostage. The right of Citizen Nnamdi Kanu must stop been trampled on, based on a probability ruling. He must be granted bail and must not be denied his human right, due to a laughable probability ruling. Citizen Nnamdi Kanu have been tortured and assaulted both in Nigeria secret chamber and as well publicly in the court of Law,by DSS and even Kuje Prison warders for over 90days,against the Nigeria Constitution, which tyrant Mohammadu Buhari and Puppet Justice John Tsoho, considers trashy by replacing it with their personal constitutions, which includes "Probability Ruling". If John Tsoho wants to practicalise the new Self Probability Constitution, then it must not be on the human right of Citizen Nnamdi Kanu. He should use such personal law, against Zarah Buhari and Senator Bukola Saraki who are in possession of dual passport and release Citizen Nnamdi Kanu whose right has been trampled unlawfully and against humanity.
You're an idi.ot!

The same reason why someone i.e of Foreign/Nigerian descent that is accused of committing a serious crime here, has NEVER been outside the United States, but has (familial) "ties" to Nigeria will NEVER be granted bail is the same reason Nnamdi Kanu is still being kept in custody: It is called being a FLIGHT RISK!

Imbe*ciles like yourself, need to stop misinforming the public.
