Communism is not a sustainable political/economic policy. It is an oppressive ideology that only benefits members of the communist party (who are exclusively the ruling elites) and their family.
Sounds much like Capitalism if you ask me.

Come to think of it, Democracy isn't working for us. A regional government is not forthcoming. I'll suggest Nigeria should become a communist nation. It has worked for China, Cuba, Russia, Malaysia, Venezuela, Indonesia and North Korea.

Nigeria should make these countries its allies in order to know how the system works. Russia and China will be in a better position to show us how the system works. PMB should make Russia, Venezuela, North Korea, Cuba and China its allies.

I am short of words.

These can never be ascribed as 21st century University buildings.

The designs are awkwardly bad and the construction looks very appalling. The buildings look ornamented with mediocrity.

I am so so so sad. Do we need to be recolonized again before we can get it right?

OAU, UNN, UNILAG, ABU, UNILORIN etc were built decades ago but remain landmarks of Architectural reference.

Just like NDU, Amasoma, the structures in the purported NMU looks below par. I strongly hope Billions of Naira have not been supposedly spent on these shanty looking buildings.

NB:
To the topic, Amaechi lied, though the quality of the buildings is poor, the development has gone beyond feasibility studies.
You know, I was just thinking the same thing. Very ugly buildings. Poor architecture. An eyesore, to put it mildly.

Why must THe presiding judge be a northerner ?? Is there no judge from the south west that can preside over this same issue ? Just saying for the judgement to be rendered unbiased , the presiding judge has to be from an ethnic group other than the president's own. If he is found guilty he should be jailed, but if not he should be released. This postponement of court hearing is getting to 6months now, very soon it will be 1yr then 3yrs.
The other day metuh was granted bail for 400million naira.Saint Amechi is walking freeely , someone who embezzled rivers state money. We all know biafra cant be actualized now, the president should leave rats like nnamdi and face other issues like development of the economy and better governance
You're still living in the past and Nigeria will leave you behind. You better get with the times. Nigeria is changing and so long as the Constitution is followed and Justice is served the tribe of the Judge or Defendant do not mean squat.

Well, the Nigerian System is peculiar, so you need to stop pretending to yourself like it's anything but.

That said, yes, here in the United States we have something called "Sealed Indictments". Meaning, the charges are secret and only the Government/Prosecutor/Judge/ and/or Grand Jury know about its existence. The Indictment can become unsealed anywhere and you'll be arrested on the spot. It could be at your wedding, your hospital bed, Child's christening or.... even as you walk down the court steps after being granted bail on another charge in another case.

The system is sanitizing itself.

The rule of law. Habaes Corpus.
If you're not sure what they mean, pls do yourself a favor and read up on them.

They are not legal technicalities.
They are the fundamentals of any criminal justice system.
They cannot and should never be jettisoned or compromised for any form of expediency,..unless, of course, this is the beginning of mob rule in Nigeria.
The little African that doesn't know what it means to have 50 straight years of uninterrupted power supply or access to an impartial court is actually trying to teach me about Writs.

You don't see me trying to teach you how to make a fo*ol of yourself in public (by pretending to be versed in a topic I know nothing about but which was a source of living to another for 30+ years), you do that excellently on your own, so why do you think you've got the right to try to "teach" me the law? The 2 persons directly (that commented) above me should go back and read PDP's argument and shout up quick. Interestingly this topic was on discourse in my office yesterday.

1. Is EFCC a competent law court of jurisdiction to decided a criminal case in her office?
2. What was the charges raised against him?
3. If (he) the accused is actually guilty of collecting bribe from arms deal, criminal diversion of fund or money laundry, what did the law say is his punishment? COLLECT PART OF THE MONEY BACK and DISCHARGE HIM HOME?
4. Remember FG said they will not enter plea bargain in any case of corruption, how come EFFC has turn to court and start dishing out plea bargain?
5.Where/what is his jail terms according to law?
6. PDP asked how much did he actually collect? From who? For what? (because he is APC member) so for what did he get the money from arms? Services or presidential campaign?
7. When is he going to pay the balance?

#Nigeria is a joke
#PMB is a joker
#APC is a scam
#EFCC is an attack dog against opposition
Like most Nigerians from a certain part of your country, telling the truth is an anathema.

Did PMB give your greedy heroes the option of coming clean once and for all, returning looted funds and turning a new leaf in lieu of prosecution or not? So, what is the point of the rubbish you wrote up there?

P.S: Then again, after reading your vile vitriol for a second time I realize I shouldve just ignored you because you clearly lack an understanding of what's going on, even though you want to pretend like you do.

Now, intruding on the sacred precincts of the rule of law, the sacred precincts of habaes corpus, the holy of holies of democratic culture, is a disgrace, a sad throwback to the locust years, a re-enactment of negative history.

My dad is Nigerian , he already has 4 children with West Indian women, but makes fun of West Indians all the time. It's annoying and hurtful and I always feel like I don't fit on that side of the family.

My Caribbean family are welcoming however, they don't really like Africans that much and sometimes makes fun of them, and it makes me feel upset. It's like my Caribbean family think they are better because they are Lighter and Mixed. And my Nigerian family think they are better because they are full blooded 100% Naija - whereas I am not. undecided

When I was younger I was made to feel that being African or associated with Africa as something shameful - It's so sad. I just want to be accepted by both sides of my family!!!! cry

So what is your opinion on African / Caribbean relations?

PoliticsRe: Anger Grows In Judiciary Against Buhari, Chief Judge Bars Remand Orders To EFCC by ISpiksDaTroof:
OgunNewsFact:
Anger Grows In Judiciary Against Buhari, Chief Judge Bars Remand Orders To EFCC

The Whistler.

There is growing anger in the judiciary against President Muhammadu Buhari over his continued flouting of court orders and ‘treating the third arm of government as an appendage of the executive arm’ The Whistler has learnt.

A judiciary source told our correspondent that judges are getting embarrassed daily by the abuse of the rule of law by government agencies like the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Department of State Security (DSS) all allegedly acting on the orders of the president to continue to detain accused persons granted bail or not arraigning others within the 48hours legal window.

The Whistler further learnt that the dissatisfaction with the executive was what informed the Chief Judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Justice Ishaq Bello, to order magistrates in the FCT to desist forthwith from granting remand orders to the EFCC.
The EFCC had always relied on FCT Magistrates’ Courts for remand warrants to justify its continued detention of suspects being investigated for corruption and other economic crimes.

The commission said last week it had obtained a detention warrant from a Magistrates’ Court in the FCT to enable it keep the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, in its custody pending the conclusion of its investigation.

Justice Bello at a visit to the Keffi Medium prison in Keffi, Nasarawa State, on Tuesday, read the riot act to magistrates in the FCT who this medium gathered are corralled by the anti-graft agency to issue warrants they have no authority to order.

In December 2015, Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court excused himself from hearing the treason case against Radio Biafra Director, Nnamdi Kanu, after the accused objected to the trial due to the Federal Government’s repeated disobedience of court orders relating to the case.

“If any of the parties has no confidence in the court, he has the right to say so. Assuming it was the prosecution, if they had no confidence in the court of jurisdiction; would they not have done so?

“I hereby remit the case file to the honourable Chief Judge of this court to reassign it,” Justice Mohammed said.

So far, ex NSA, Sambo Dasuki has been granted bail twice but was still being held by the DSS on the orders of Buhari.
This story makes absolutely no sense and is all over the place. Why would the Chief Judge instruct the Magistrates not to issue warrants/remand orders? Also how are "judges getting embarrassed daily" if the only two cases giving corrupt people heart attacks are those of Messrs Dasuki and Metuh ( and maybe Mr. Kanu), Who else has been arrested "everyday" so we can lend some credibility to this story?

This article is crap and seems to me like it's attention seeking with hopes of making a payday from the allegedly corrupt individuals in custody.
