TrebleChamp: Omo traffic for Ikorodu road today no be hear, 6 fvcking hour inside traffic. Had to pack my car inside Maryland School Complex laslas and find my way home.
Mophor: Hello everyone, I am using a 2006 Toyota corolla, I observed that whenever I apply little brake, there is a sound that emanate from the wheel at d front of the driver side. The sound is so annoying that I feel reluctant to apply brakes when needed. I've changed the brake pad and brake disc but no changes. Pls car gurus, I need ur suggestions.
Are you sure it's coming from the front. Those brake linings at the rear can cause myriad of noises when they wear out.
comatekeke: Risk of default is very possible with this compared to Treasury bills, especially for investors that invest huge sum of money, hence their choice.
For me, the difference is not worth the risk. 5m at 12% in TB will give me 250k less than the 17% fair money will give. I can't risk 5m because of an extra 250k.
Jibwillz: When we factor issues of massive potholes, speed breakers, checkpoints etc on our roads, these are the obstacles that justifies ur choice and it’s very understandable.
The only thing that contradicts your point is ”Environment”. Other than that, intercity cars doesn't come close to highway cars in terms of performance output, durability and it’s lifespan. Manufacturers/Users test has proven this overtime. And nah Buhari I blame sha😂

Don't let that guy suck you into his baseless argument. Speed breakers and checkpoints are more inside town than on the highway. St Micheal Crescent off Tombia in PHC has more than 10 speed breakers and that street is not up to 500m
Potholes are avoidable. The last time I drove from PH to Ibadan then Ibadan to Abeokuta and Abeokuta to PH, I did not enter a single pothole all through.
Pearl1910: Thank you. I know someone who used to run Lagos to Asaba with a Corolla 2006. He services his car every month alongside shocks, linkage and brake pad replacement. He used to buy tyre almost every week. Now, that car cannot embark on that trip cos the engine is weak. That engine lasted him less than 3years.
Lagos to Asaba return trip is 900kms. That he buys tires every week gives the impression that he travels frequently. You also said he he only services the car once a month and here you are wondering why the engine is weak.
So let's say this your someone only does a return trip two times a week. In a month he would have done 900kms×2×4. He drives 7200 kms before changing the oil that I'm sure is mobil super and the engine still lasted three years? Try it with city driving and see if the engine will not die in less than a year.
raumdeuter: Where I grew up Moslems and Christian are no different
Some of my friends when they don't bear Islamic first names we generally assumed they were Christians cos we all behaved the same way
Until it's time for WAEC and you have to use 3 names then you will see an Islamic name sneak in between the normal Yoruba names we all grew up together drank beer together, go revival grounds together mostly to toast babes, sneak out of school together Actually post Ramadan beer parlors will tell you their sales will double or triple because of the millions of liberal minded moslems who took a 30days detox break
You can imagine my shock when I started seeing WAEC list and Ahmed coming in between the names of friends Bola Tinubu, or Raji coming up between Tunde Fashola, Gafar between the name of Femi Adebayo etc
There were always liberal minded moslems and Christians who were the majority and all joined to laugh at the conservative Deeper life and Tebliq
I agree with all of these which was how I initially interpreted "liberal".
However, it's indeed difficult to see muslims who support abortion, LGBTQ e.t.c.
Pearl1910: Lolz...I am asking silly questions but u just clearly broke down the reasons why highway driving is more straineous on the car without you even seeing or recognising it. Aren't my silly questions better than ur IQ?
The answer to your questions is very simple; It is because highway driving is more tasking and demanding on the totality of the car. Everything needs to be working optimally if the car has to perform efficiently on the highway through out the journey.
If u can manage a 'bad' car within town for weeks/months but the moment u take it for Interstate journey it breaks down, what does that tell u? It means the car cannot deliver on the demands of interstate journey required of the car.
If a car is only good for within state movement but can't go on a far journey, what does that Infere? It simply means interstate journey is not the mate of Intrastate driving.
If u say it's town driving that spoilt the car, did u also use that car for outside state movements for the same period and it didn't need repairs?
U see, sometimes people fail to use their common sense to think or to infere based on practical experience. Could it be because they are too lazy to think or they don't even have sense in the first place.
Rather than disagree on the issue in other to learn or to put forth ur own argument, u choose to insult. That in itself is a characteristic of an illiterate who has no capacity to comprehended simple processes.
I don't know if it's to split your head into two and put what I'm saying in it at this point. That bad vehicle did not breakdown because you took it on the highway, it still would have broken down in town given the same conditions that made it happen on the highway. A bad car is a bad car.
Vehicles operate optimally at high speeds and not in stop and go traffic. Battery is well charged, engine operates at normal temperature, transmission goes to the highest gear and stays there for long, no constant changing of gears like in the city, brake pads, steering, shafts, shocks experience less usage on the highway and less wear and tear.
Everything I've stated here is a statement of fact. I'm surprised anyone with a working brain can even argue this.
Donjazet2: Nope, not our kind of "liberal" that basically entails entertaining people of different faith unlike other Muslims who share more extreme views and attitudes towards people of different faith.
No I'm saying, Muslims who are liberal in their worldviews, pro-abortion, supports gay rights and most importantly believes in women rights and equality of genders. These are the hallmarks of liberalism.
A departure from the former traditional way of life.
Donjazet2: Insults aside, gloriousgbola is certainly the most complex character I've seen here.
A Muslim liberal (extremely rare to see) who supports an undemocratic candidate in his own country while being misogynistic. Can't wrap my head around his ethos.
This caught my attention. Muslim liberals are not rare to see kan kan. There are many of them in the South West.
So you never even got married as a manly man of standards?
Your wife must have been 'masculine' and liberal-minded enough to marry you in your likely small days niyen o. And did not mind 'suffering' or 'building' or hypergamy.
She must have been so different from the women online whom all theories about feminine behaviours did not apply to.
You guys willprobablyhave examples of great women around you, but you will feel comfortable "otherizing" other women and making predictions about them.
Yeah, we do have great women around us. I don't know anything about the concluding part of your statement.
Pearl1910: First answer the questions in my post. If u don't have the answers, try searching Google and YouTube videos to educate yourself.
Perhaps, if you used youtube and google more frequently, you will not be asking silly questions.
You asked why cars used for interstate transport are now used for intrastate transport. Why didn't you ask why no one uses cars that have been used for intrastate transport while moving the length and breadth of Lagos for interstate transport.
You also asked why cars used in the city suddenly develop faults when taken to the highway. Does it not prove the point that city driving kills cars? Did the fault suddenly come after the vehicle entered the highway?
If a car is in a good condition, taking it to the highway will not make it breakdown. If it does, the vehicle was never in a good condition and it's only a matter of time before it happens even if the vehicle didn't leave the city. It happened faster on the highway obviously because more miles were covered.
Pearl1910: As a science student (except u are not) u should know that any machine or system that works at high rate is dispensing more energy and doing more work. In d case of a car, driving 120-140km/hr for hours, is definitely different from within town driving. Ur engine and every part of the car is strained from covering more miles within a short time frame.
Have u asked why cars that where formerly used for interstate movement are relegated to Intrastate after some years of service? Have u asked why a car that u will be using for months without issue will suddenly break down on d highway when u carry it to travel?
How can u say d only difference between highway travelling and within town movement is tyre wear and tear??... U dey amaze me o!!!
What strains your engine is stop and go traffic not highway driving. Cars wear out faster in the city than on the highway. You can watch this video from 1:00 to 2:00
BlueRayDick: A woman that genuinely loves u will tell u those kind of things . A good man will focus on his hustle and make sure the woman doesn’t regret settling for whom she truly loves above peer pressure and worldly advise like that.
Leave am. Like Nihilist said the other day, let's wait till she's on the wrong side of 30 to see if she still holds the same opinion.
I didn't even have a car when I got married. I remember my wife's friend telling her she really tried marrying me without a car and that it can never be her
BlueRayDick: I just chose not to talk about the airport issue ni.
Ibime and izzou are right . I listened to a radio programme about 5 years ago and they brought one civil aviation expert . The man said most of the states that currently had airports at that time are not economically viable . Most of those states people don’t fly there .
Ekiti state having an airport makes no sense when it has close proximity with Ondo state that also has an airport . Ogun state having an airport makes no sense when it has close proximity to Lagos that has 2 and half airports. How many people dey fly go those states ?
The governors just award bogus contract to siphon money out of the system to build an airport that will be leaking and lacking maintenance in the nearest future due to paucity of funds
Another point to note is that, due to low volume of passengers, it will be difficult to get direct flights from most airports within the country to Ebonyi. This will send the cost of flight to Ebonyi over the roof. Flight from say PH to Ebonyi will go to Lagos or Abuja before Ebonyi. A lot of people will not be able to afford it thereby rendering the airport even more useless.
liveLongNprospa: Lmao if Dino loses it is not because wike did anything major. Dino in himself isn't that influential from what we've seen. Also if wike knew that Dino was a small boy, wike for keep quiet and not throw any insult at all.
Did Wike say Dino will lose because of him? What influence can Wike exert on Kogi state politics especially at a time when he'll be out of office.
What insult did Wike throw? That PDP will lose the election if they give Dino the ticket?
