Ibime: Building infrastructure as a President won't get you any kudos in Nigeria.
Nigerians just want you to fight inflation, stuff that hits their pocket directly. And that power is often out of a Presidents hand.
If it's by infrastructure, IBB remains the GOAT for building this, yet Nigerians couldn't wait to chase him out. You borrow to build train lines through bandit country, who are you deceiving. We all know insecurity will put those investments out of action shortly. What of this trans Saharan pipeline they are supposedly planning to Algeria? Anyone think that's a good idea? I was just thinking about this yesterday. Nigerians no too send all these infrastructures. For the most part, they just need the prices of goods to come down. That is why some people in this town will never agree with you that Wike did anything. All these flyovers and roads and hospitals no concern them. They just want to go to the market and be able to cook soup with 1000 naira. |

Pearl1910: No, what I mean is that Felicity too may not have known the full extent of the damage in d car if it actually looked good physically. So we can't completely blame him for marketing and selling a bad car. It's possible he also was deceived, plus the fact that Fasasi's mechanic came along, then we can't completely crucify Felicity for the discoveries afterwards. As for the fight, let's leave that completely cos d mechanic is not here, we don't know what caused d fight and since both parties have said mechanic eventually collected 50k then it's proof the money ontop was shared by other parties involved in the deal.
Come to think of it, did Fasasi's mechanic who is his relative not collect anything for that service? I am sure he did, so why will strangers also not collect their share?
As for ur NB; I always advise anyone buying a naija used car to keep extra 200k for seen and unforeseen repairs afterwards. So even though u think u have bought a good car, u must still do one or two to ur taste. Exaxtly. And the truth is, even if you take 10 of gazz.uzz to inspect a car, there are issues you will never notice till you start using the car. For a car the owner was willing to sell at 650k and seeing how every other person who has bought the car has had issues with it, I would not be surprised that both mechanics did not know the full extent of repairs needed. If trained mechanics could not detect it, difficult to pass the blame to Felicity. |

pope191: You guys are really sounding half smart with this commission of a thing. Pardon my use of words on this. I'll let some things fly only if I want too. If I am selling a car to you and I know the problem of the car. For God sake it is my number you will have, it is my picture that will be on the affidavits and if anything happen it is my name on the plate number police will trace. I can not allow one agent to put me thro undue stress. Hardly any naija used car the buyer won't call the seller to ask stupid questions. So if I allow someone to use me as an instrument to sell a car worth 1m for 1.5m with the mindset of its not my business. When kasala burst, hope I won't be force to vomit what I didn't eat.
NB : agent is meant to close the gap between buyer and seller and not to take money on behalf of buyer outside his own share. Abi nah agent una they pay house rent give if una won go rent house or buy land?
I grow as crook, before you go fit run me street, your format go strong. If you as agent go over greedy on my stuff, you won't even understand how me and the buyer end the matter for your back. If you like know after sales, you sha cant ask me not to sell my thing to who I desire. Na people like you dem dey even run street right under your nose and you won't know To the issue at hand, Let's say you're an agent. I want to buy a car and contact you, the owner of the car told you the price is 650k last but because you know people will always like to bargain, you tell me it's 800k. I come to you and price the car to 750k and you tell me to bring money. I pay you 750k and pick up the car. What will you do with the remaining 100k? Will you give it to the car owner that you sold it at 750k or you'll give it to the buyer? PS: I'm not saying this is what happened here. I'm just asking you a hypothetical question. |

TippuTip: But it's wrong na. Any agent who does that is in breach of contract already, no be until we sign paper. Once an agent does that the principal can also decide to shaft him when it's time to pay commission, it's simply two playing the same game
A lot of the dirty games we play with each other and accept as standard are actually criminal acts that should be punished in a society, if it aspires to growth From a moral perspective, yes it's wrong. From a business perspective, it's not. Business is business |

You can tell an agent to sell a house for 5m and you'll give him 10%
You can tell an agent to sell a house for 5m for you, and anything he adds on top is his own.
I am not sure people give both offers at once. It has to be one Not these ones. Even when we have agreed on the 10% commission, they still go around inflating the price. I see their various adverts on jiji with different prices |

FASASI1: After the whole incident, he still had the mind to be calling me for 20k balance, this dude lack the fear of God. he was saying he needs the money to pay for his kids school fee 😂 all your 10m deal where the gain ?? All of the clout and lies.
Since he couldn't get me to pay the 20k, he went to tell the mechanic to be charging me double saying I have money.
This guy doesn't deserve to live with people, very unscrupulous. I understand where you're coming from but if you indeed agreed to pay him 50k commission, then you're owing him 20k. The amount the actual owner wants to sell the car is none of your business. You could have looked for the car yourself. Agents try to do this all the time. It's not morally right but I'm no moral police. Business is business I have a land I've been trying to sell and one of the reasons I'm finding it difficult is because agents are inflating the price despite the fact that we have an agreed commission. I have no choice or I can try to sell it myself. If you tell an agent to sell a house for 5m for instance, the agent will put it at 5.5m and if he's lucky to pull it off, the extra 500k is his notwithstanding the commission you already agreed to pay him. This is likely not what you want to hear but it is what it is. |

BlueRayDick: Which kind talk be this ?
It was on this thread I first saw people call Peter Obi a third class graduate . It spread far and wide that most believed it until I later saw his certificate uploaded on Twitter showing it was 2.2 he graduated with . Let’s apply ur logic to this case now, so u would have the man allow people call him third class graduate for as long as possible when in actual fact he graduated with 2.2 ? (Most people trolling him with the third class jibe are even 2.2 graduates o) Did he do wrong by having his certificate put out and the false narrative put to rest ?
Not everybody like their names being ridiculed with all sorts. If u call me a thief and I know I’m not; I will always put the fact out that I’m not . Why will I allow u to continue calling me a thief ? Why ? What’s the fun in it ?
How many news has Obi debunked sef ? This one U are making it seem like that man goes on TV every forthright to defend himself .
U may not like the man , his guts and whatever he represents to u; but how do u accuse a man for defending himself ? How ? There are two divides here and I want to believe we both agree there's nothing wrong with both 1. Those who feel the need to always defend themselves 2. Those who will allow the story run even if false. My point is, I don't find it odd that someone who believes in point number two will question why those who do point number 1 do it. And if you look at it, had PO maintained his silence on the leaked audio it would have been better than the embarrassing response he gave when the same interviewer asked him about it. |

Everything u’ve written here does not still make the man look less fooolish for what he said in that video .
How can u be mad that someone is given a platform to clarify some of the things said about him that he believes are untrue ?
If u have evidence to suggest his clarifications are not adding up, u can lay it bare in the open. Why being mad at a news station for allowing him react to issues raised about his person ? I watched the full interview. It's not as bad as you guys are making it seem. What I gleaned from it was like saying PO can ignore certain things especially when they are not true. You may not agree with him and believe PO has to debunk everything but there's nothing entirely odd about ignoring a news you know is false. |

See as u dey talk am . U are not talking the economics/finance of this thing .MTN built those infrastructures over 22 years to get to where they are today . 22 years of 4cking in which they operate as a private company that was profit oriented with no incentive to do any charity giveaway aside from budgeted CSR.
Lagos state government has been building how many kilometers of road and railway on Lagos-Badagry expressway for over 10 years now. One of the reasons it’s not been completed is the paucity of funds.
Where Lagos state government wan see funds to deploy that level of infrastructure that will be needed to transmit electricity to most parts of the states let’s say within 5 years ? I'm looking at private investors Dangote refinery cost $19bn. Na people invest their money. |

Anything is possible sha.
If to say i get money, na to buy land near all these organised estates
Build a Solar plant and supply thy energy I want to believe that any serious investor will have to build it's own transmission lines. They can use existing lines like MTN initially did with NITEL but eventually they had to build theirs. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Itsrm(m): 7:15pm On May 02, 2023 |
izzou: This one would require a lot og resources oh
You will have to think of your own Generation, and transmission
Then you’ll have to aggressively market it to consumers on why they should dump IKEDC and choose you.
Then you have to put checks and balances in place to prevent energy theft and damage to equipments
Omoh...This is far far different from Telecoms liberalisation I do agree with you that its a lot of work but you are underestimating what the telecoms giants had to do when they came on board. Until recently, MTN had 10 switches across the country. Apapa, Ikoyi, Ojota, Benin, Ph, Ibadan, Owerri, Kaduna, Kano, Abuja. All of these switches are interconnected by fibre. To lay one kilometer of fibre can cost you up to a million naira depending on what you have to do. Also, every other state without a switch had to connect to the switch through radio or fibre. PH switch for instace was serving Rivers State, Cross Rivers and Akwa Ibom. Just try to picture the kind of massive infrastructure I'm referring to here. It was a lot of work and cost a lot of money but it was achieved. If the telecoms operators can do it, I believe it can be replicated in the power sector. And the good thing is, once one investor builds it, other generating companies will leverage on the infrastructure. If Mainone for example have a service they want to deliver between PH and Lagos, they don't have to start laying their own fibre. All they have to do is pay MTN or any other major player to create a leased line for them and it's done. Subsequent investors only have to bother about generation. They will leverage on existing transmission lines built by the first set of investors. It is POsibble |
