Well, maybe Firstbank has an easier conversion route for contract staff but most of the banks and other players in the financial services don’t convert contract staff like that .

In fact , what I gathered over the years is that those companies recruiting contract staff on behalf of the banks sign a contract with the bank such that the bank cannot employ the contract staff directly else the recruiting agencies will sue the bank . Except the staff first resigns from the services of the recruiting firm.

Earlier this year a lady joined my team from
One of the banks where she worked as contract staff . We gave her a much improved offer and she resigned . Less than 2 weeks after resumption , he ex-boss called her for a chat . She later confided in me how her ex-boss had prevailed on management to employ her as a full staff since she already resigned from the recruiting agency .

So they employed her and improved on our offer . I advised her to take the offer and just see it as whatever supreme being she believed in has used us to help her get a better offer in her former workplace .

If I was that lady, heaven knows I would not have taken the offer. Infact I have a similar experience though slightly different from the one you just shared where the company I worked fresh out of NYSC was paying us peanuts. When you ask for a raise, they tell you stories of how people working there before you have been on the same salary.

Three years later, I got another job that offered me over 10 times what they were paying. It was then they offered to match what the new company was offering.

I gave them a resounding NO. That was the best NO I have ever had to say

If they had given her the offer and asked that she resigns her current role, that would have been different. For her to have left and then return, can never be me.

Those people just take advantage of fresh graduates’ desperation to land post-NYSC job.

The sad part is while u are working for them as contract staff seconded to a bank as teller or other companies ( still as contract staff ) , ur friend who finally gets a normal job several months after POP will be better off than u that has been working for close to a year sef .

The people I mentor , I don’t ever advise them to take any of those Workforce, ICSL, Whytcleon etc jobs . They usually stagnate the career growth of a young brilliant mind .

It depends on the bank. First bank for instance does a yearly conversion for people below 32 years. All you have to do is pass the aptitudes test. Infact, I encourage people to go the contract route into firsbank and work on getting converted to full staff.

Last year, several guys got converted because the existing core staff kept japaing

Even at 30k weekly, you can't make profit in a year as an investor.

You are right on point bro! I rented my Car out, remittance was timely but my Car suffered it, had to retrieve it from the guy (he is one of us here) when I discovered he isn't straight forward, my car was never washed once thoughtout the period it was with him, so many issues, I have moved on.

Here in PH, its increasingly difficult to get a bolt car in pristine condition. The 12 hour daily driving takes its toll on cars.

It's been resolved already. The issue wasn't just the leasing of the vehicle for two weeks just to get things clear. The business itself is very challenging for both the owner and driver,it takes a sense of understanding, empathy and professionalism to scale through at the end of it all. But I must say this will be my last HIRE PURCHASE deal.

If you think higher purchase is difficult, try rentals. It's worse. Driver's will try every trick in the book not to pay your money not to talk of some very heavy repairs that sometimes come up. E.g, I'm having to pay 55k to buy steering rack after repairing it twice with 12k(6k each) in two months.

The only reason I'm still in the business is because I'm yet to get an alternative I understand and with a better ROI. The day I get one, I'm done with transport business.
