BlueRayDick: I don’t think me and u are discussing the same thing . I am talking about Wike’s electoral value in the 2023 presidential elections and u are talking about whatever black ops Wike is running in the creeks of ND. We are not discussing the same subject bro .
My question is let’s assume Wike tells people in Cross River PDP not to vote for Atiku-Okowa, what political value is Wike offering them immediately and in the future ? I mean a man who is not vying for any political post of importance in an election is going around telling u not to vote for someone contesting for the highest seat . Wont it be foolhardy on ur part to accept such advice from him ? Politics na give and take .
And in case u may say he will give them money in the immediate , what stops them from collecting the money and betraying him? I saw a video of Wike recently calling out Rivers elders for pushing him to contest for the PDP primary that they came to him in the midnight and gave him assurances the people want him; only for them to still betray him.
Wike is on a tight leash and he knows that himself . There's one key part of the puzzle you're missing. As long as Atiku does not win, they will be fine. Even if he wins, politicians can always mend fences. We can at least agree that Wike can throw money around. What value will supporting Atiku bring to them? A man who is now very unpopular in the South. The best option for most of them is to openly support PO. Remember that these are mostly states without PDP governors Once Wike starts it in January, many of them will fall in line |

BlueRayDick: You left this question below unanswered:
By the way , I hope u know ur miscalculations during PDP primaries makes it difficult for anybody to trust ur projections and permutations when it comes to these kind of matters sha ? The answer to your question is in another question. How will they win those elections in the first place without Wike's financial muscle? Wike had to bail out Ikpeazu by giving Abaribie 100m to step down for him. I also know for a fact that Wike is financing Sandy Onor in Cross Rivers. Where do you expect him to get the money to go against the State Governor. Elections cost a lot of money. That is why you'll notice Wike can't control the governors of Akwa Ibom, Delta and Bayelsa. They are as rich as he is. Wike was also wrong with his calculations when he contested the presidential primaries but he wasn't with the Governorship that brought him in. No one is right all of the time |

BlueRayDick: Which 10 states does Wike control their PDP factions ? List the 10 states out . It’s like u are not getting how politics is being played .
Wike is a spent politician . He’s in his last days , whatever grip he has on any state goes with him May 29 2023 when he leaves office . Politics is all about interest , Wike’s internet presently is to thwart Atiku’s presidency at all cost.
The PDP is other 35 states of the country aside Rivers have their people justling for elective positions . Shey would they align with Wike to thwart Atiku’s chances when they know Wike has no electoral value post-2023 elections ? Why should they join him to thwart Atiku’s chances at the polls when they could benefit from Atiku’s presidency if he miraculously wins ?
Cant u see someone like Seyi Makinde that has an election to win is not coming all out and blasting Atiku like Wike is doing on a regular basis ? This life na brain-brain my guy I have already. Its in my response to Izzou. Here is it again As an example, the Kano faction of PDP loyal to Kwankwaso is with him. Same as Benue state.
When you come to the South, Ondo, Lagos, Oyo, Cross Rivers, Enugu, Abia, Rivers all have a faction loyal or completely loyal to him Makinde that told Atiku openly to his face and has granted several interviews denoucning support for Atiku is not coming out abi? How many politicians do you know who are as brash as Wike? Why do you now expect them to show the same attitude and disposition towards Atiku as Wike. They have openly said they won't support him. Whatever you think outside of that is your own imagination not supported by facts. |

izzou: Nigerians are capable of voting two different candidates when it is the Presidential and Governorship
That was the facts presented yesterday. And these two elections are not on the same day. The governorship is a week after Nigeria has known her new president.
Most Senators have to ride on the popularity of the Presidential candidate. Many people here don't even know the names of the senators of the different parties contesting for their zones.
Can you tell us the Senator representing PDP, APC, and LP for you zone? I doubt. But you definitely can for the governorship.
The fact of yesterday can't include senators. They mostly ride on the popularity of the Presidential candidate Lol, they don't need to know. They only need to know they are thumb printing one party as president and another as Senator or HOR. Nigerians are definitely capable of doing that. When I have time, I will pull out several instances when Nigerians have gone with separate choices for Presidential and HOR elections. Numerous instances abound. |

reccy: Well, I think you're right. I'm not sure he has plan for any elected position again. Man sha wan flex with his looted money after his tenure. With Atiku recent actions, one can easily deduct that he has foregone the G5 states and leverage on his stronghold to get maximum votes
funnily enough, the North are taken note and the resultants effects will have those who will want to aspire for higher positions in near future hit. E don do now. Atleast, the message has been passed to appropriate quarter , why can't they come to table and resolve this shit and get their ass together for their looming defeat. We shall wan defeat a united house.
But wait ooo. Who is this AYU? Who is he? Does he have that political clout for Atiku to insist on him over 5 states? Ah don't understand. Even his state Governor is among the G5 yet Atiku is adamant. Is their anything I'm missing here? You sure there is nothing they are not telling us about the Old Benue man?
Well, I pray their crisis lasts for 1000 years. From what I have been able to gather, Atiku himself is disposed to AYU leaving. The problem are those who are political leaders and allies of Atiku in the North who are tired of Wike's control of the PDP. They are the ones threatening to withdraw their support for Atiku if Ayu leaves. Some Governors also also threatening to withdraw their support if AYU leaves. So if AYU leaves, Atiku gets the backing of 5 governors, losses the support of two governors and part of his support in the North He's between the devil and the deep blue sea. I just think he should have gone with Wike as VP. The moment he chose Okowa, the die was cast. |

izzou: My brother, no Senator will jeopardise his future because Wike doesn't want Atiku to win.
The Presidential and Senatorial elections will be at the same time, same day. Which faction will have the time, campaigning for electorates to vote another party in Presidential, and vote PDP in senate?
The moment he lost out, he held only Rivers with his grips. Any other faction have moved on. Kano PDP needs to win senatorial seats too. So how will they demarket Atiku, and ask for people to vote PDP on that same day?
Infact, i feel Wike has realised he has only Rivers on his cards, hence the ISWAPic approach to destroy Atiku If you read a couple of pages back, it was clearly established on this thread that Nigerians are indeed capable of voting two separate parties even if the election is on the same day. It was between larri.de, afrodoc.2 and Trebl.eChamp. You can go back to read it. Wike is the major financer of Sandy Onor who is the PDP governorship aspirant in Cross Rivers State. Donald Duke the former governor and leader of PDP in the state is also his strong ally. If you want to believe his control is only in Rivers State, fine. The facts before us suggests otherwise. |

Atiku can easily spin this tribally, the same way Obi is leveraging on Muslim-Muslim ticket
This action should never be supported in any way, because if another Wike-like governor emerges from the North in the fututre, the south would never have those numbers needed to win.
There are 5 governors against Atiku. Why is only Wike taking it overboard? He was the most affected and the most humiliated. This guy held that party together when it was falling apart and EFCC was going after a lot of them. The least he deserved was the way he was treated with the nomination of Okowa as VP. Wike knows his influence is only in Rivers state .
Wike has a garrulous character that doesn’t portray him as a man with national outlook. He only thinks about his immediate environment and immediate consequence of his actions . A man with foresight will know that fighting Atiku to a standstill like he’s doing may achieve the immediate result of denying Atku votes in his state , but the after effects of it in the long run means u are binding ur own people to the philistines sooner or later The bolded is false and what I've always argued with Roland17 That guy controls the PDP to some extent in more than 10 states. If it was just Rivers State, PDP would have suspended him. Except you are referring to his influence once he leaves office. |

What does the future holds for Wike in PDP? He is the only one out of the G5 Governors not contesting for an office this February. Will he go into political Oblivion by the time he finishes his tenure?
Raumdeuter, Afrodoc1, Nihilistjnr, Donzjanet, OasisX and anyone that wants to contribute? He won't go into political Oblivion. The plan is to maintain control of Rivers state politics. Most if not all of the National Assembly, House of Reps, and Governorship candidates of the state are his loyalists. He not only prevented the likes of Omehia from becoming Governor, he also denied him the senate ticket. Nationally, I don't think there's any way back for him. It's why I'm surprised the likes of Ortom, Ugwuanyi and Ikpeazu are this loyal to him. Wike has acquired enough wealth and will still acquire more to last his 20th generation. He will be fine out of office. |

izzou: The serious traffic at that Electronics market has changed. Since Willie expanded that road, it has been different
Also, the Old bridge experiences heavy traffic during festive periods; much expected because people from other parts of Nigeria are coming home. What of periods that the traffic is less? Would anyone leave a free way to go and pay 500 bucks on the 2nd one? I doubt that.
Also, the sit-at-home on Mondays automatically translates to next-to-nothing revenue for that bridge. That is also a problem
People from the West, going to PH hardly pass Onitsha anymore. They prefer to find their way from Delta, to the East/West road. And unfortunately, this category are those who are expected to use the 2nd Niger bridge too
Lastly, trailer drivers would rather use the old one than pay 1,500 for the new one (afterall, the company has provided diesel for the whole journey).
I just think the old one is a bad market for the new one. I mean, the divertion to the new one is on the road to the old one. So if i see that the road is free, i can decide to stick with the old one, rather than the new one The bolded is a good point. Where did you see 1500? |

Whether we like it or not govt has to find a sustainable way of funding of maintenance of road infrastructure. My condolences to the private partner hoping to recoup his investments, IMO I thought of it as well but I think people paying or not will depend on the amount being tolled. If its 500 or less, people will pay. Apart from the hold up on the headbridge, there used to be serious hold up around that Electronics market. You don't want to be caught in it. I don't know if that has changed sha. There's also those who have contraband they are carrying and want to avoid the military guys at the old bridge. Transport companies can also transfer the cost to their passengers so its none of their business. |
