I disagree with you sir, rather the price of older cars will shoot up, i don't see them dieing soon. The price difference between 2004 and 2013 vehicles is way more than $2000. For example a 2004 Camry cost around $1500 and 2013 cost way above $3500. Same applies to other vehicles. Rx330 sells around $3000 and Rx350 2013 model is over $90000. Highlander 2004 sells around $2500 and 2013 is over $9000.

the duty alone for cars below 2013 is 900k+ which means u will pay same duty for 2000 and 2013 model. The best bet now is to buy latest car and enjoy same duty rate with buying a 2003 Camry or Corolla and a 2013 Toyota Camry

Lower mileage doesn't guarantee better reliability. That mileage is a bit high, though, and you'd probably be better off with something having less miles on it than. Unless, of course, you have evidence that this car has been well-maintained.

I also bought something similar just this Friday at abayomi iwo road in ibadan and it’s Turkish door made by Anotec . I got it for 160k. Same people making noise about never buying high mileage vehicles will walk into a car stand and tell a dealer that his low mileage accident free 08 ES350 is too expensive at N5.5m because his neighbour has a similar car on sale for N4.5m.

Same people will eventually buy an accidented or privately sold problematic (usually transmission or engine) vehicle and be visiting one mechanic or the other after a few months or get stuck at ore on the cars first trip out of Lagos.

Maintenance is key!!!

My car is 201xxx and was bought with 173xxx.
It's still going strong.

Don't expect low mileage on an old car.
In this case the OPs car is below average mileage expected.

These cars can easily do 300k+ if maintained properly.

The average Nigerian barely covers 5000 miles in a year.

At that rate it will take the OP about ten years to get to 300k miles.

He would have got his money's worth from the car.

Car has been bought already OP, so enjoy your ride.

Don't allow negative people dampen your joy.

Unfortunately some information I give might be of no use to you either because you don't have a car/ car problem yet or you just love vawulence.
The information worked for at least one individual who got a refund and will help others know how the industry should work with better informed owners.

Imagine if you bring your car to a shop because it loses power and struggles to move.
They scan it and see multiple misfire code you only had 2 out of 4 cylinders working.
Replaced bad plugs car drove better when it was tested . Now you take it home it completes a test cycle, misfire comes back, now it is caused by worn cam lobes and loss of compression in a cylinder.
Owner will say the car is worse but the car just show there is bigger peoblem

Thank you. The guy just throw abuse from nowhere all because i expressed my informed opinion on something i know well. In the last 8 years, ive changed cars 6 times. The higher the mileage the harder it is to sell. 242k miles i wont even click on the link.

May be someone has to remind you people but Jonathan started holding back federal allocation from Rivers state in Amaechi's second term after they fell out. It was that allocation that Buhari returned to Wike during Wike's first term.
