This is what you always resort to when lies can no longer advance your cause. Stop being half-smart; our readers are not stupid—Afikpo is a small town in Ebonyi State. And by the way, Oyo is also a town in Oyo State. You can't confuse anyone here, okay?

Now, this is what you should dispute:

The Southeast comprises five states—Anambra, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, and Imo—which cover an area of just 29,388 square kilometers.

Oyo State (one of six states in the Southwest) is 28,454 square kilometers.

With the above information, prove that your beloved Southeast is not just "a half plot of land," which are your exact words.

The essence of the above is to encourage you to question what your predecessors were doing while others expanded their territories. I'm just trying to explain why your indigenous land is limited to just the present "five plots of land." Someone in government even referred to it as "a dot." Isn't it actually a dot? This is what I asked you to dispute—not to resort to lies and gibberish.
...just like someone also called your land an 'imaginary line'. Even as
your people have been observed to have an uncanny ability to lie to themselves and to others with utmost confidence and belief, our people have been observed to resist falsehood in all its ramification.
Like I said,
Afikpo : 35, 015 km²

Oyo: 22, 231 km²

It is known.

It's no one's fault you don't know, neither is it anyone's fault your land is that infinitesimal.

Emotional rants—empty noise without substance, as usual. Typical! We don't know your real 'history'; let's assume you even have one. Why don't you share that 'history' now that you have all the time in the world, on a platform provided even by a Yoruba man?

Hey, boy, while you're at it, we won't buy Chinua Achebe's fictional 'history' of one non-existent Okonkwo. And please be reminded that the 'history' of being 'African Jews' has since been debunked. Do we need to remind you that we’ve heard how 'Amelika' (America) and 'Eeroopa' (Europe) were founded by your progenitors? Laughable!

Now, the latest claim you and your fellow comedians want to force down our throats is that East Africans, especially the Luo, are Igbos! Lol, I don't know what could be more delusional. Boy, trust me, you know nothing even about your so-called 'history'. For instance, are you aware that Mr. Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, is ancestrally not an Igbo man; he is an Ibibio man—an Aro! Do you think you share the same history with him, even though you want the whole world to see him as an Igbo man today? There are many people like Mr Alex Otti in today's Southeast. As a matter of fact, the real igbos are a minority in the Southeast— fact.

Do I have to educate you about what the Aros did to your people? Trust me, you are not in any position to label anyone outside of your own tribe as a slave. It shows a complex inferiority complex to desire that everybody be Igbos, while no one wants to associate with you!
Lmao my Aro and Ibibio brothers should come read evening newspaper, breaking edition. Politics › Re: Insecurity In Akure North:what Should Residents Expect From Their Representative by itzadorable333: 3:11am On Oct 24
Laliga001:
Imagine leaving home early in the morning to check on your farm, not knowing whether you will return home safely.

Imagine a family going to bed, not because everyone is ready to sleep but because nobody knows what the night might bring

Imagine being afraid to travel along a road you have used for years, or watching your community's businesses close earlier than usual because people no longer feel safe staying out.

For many residents of Akure North, this is no longer an abstract conversation about insecurity in Nigeria. It is a concern that has affected farming, movement, livelihoods and the sense of safety people should enjoy in their own communities and the question is becoming increasingly difficult to avoid: What exactly should residents expect from the people seeking their votes?

When the people have had enough

On March 10, 2026, residents of Ilu-Abo and neighbouring communities in Akure North took to the Akure–Owo Expressway to protest the rising cases of kidnapping in their area.

According to TheCable, protesters barricaded the road and demanded urgent government intervention. Some said they could no longer go to their farms or sleep peacefully because of the security situation.

Just days earlier, on March 4, youths in Ayede Ogbese had also blocked the same highway following the killing of a farmer, Ben Daniels, by suspected gunmen.

Their message was clear: residents wanted protection, answers and action.

These were not people arguing over party colours. They were people demanding the basic right to live, work and move around without fear and when citizens have to take such drastic steps to get attention, we must ask whether the institutions responsible for protecting them are responding quickly enough.

Sources:

- TheCable:
https://www.thecable.ng/ondo-residents-block-expressway-with-body-of-kidnap-victim-to-protest-insecurity/
- The Guardian:
https://guardian.ng/news/nigeria/metro/youths-block-akure-owo-highway-over-killing-of-farmer-in-ondo-community/

But what can a House of Representatives member actually do?

Some people may ask: Is security not the responsibility of the President, police, military and state government?

Yes, security involves several institutions and an MHR cannot personally deploy police officers or command military operations but that does not mean the office should be silent.

A serious representative can use the powers of the National Assembly to:

- Push for better security funding: Advocate for resources, equipment and surveillance capacity for relevant security agencies.
- Demand accountability: Use legislative oversight to ask questions about security responses, resource allocation and the implementation of approved measures.
- Raise local concerns at the national level: Bring the experiences of communities such as Ilu-Abo, Ayede Ogbese, Eleyewo and Agamo into the appropriate legislative discussions.
- Press for stronger rural protection: Advocate for better coverage of vulnerable communities, farming areas and routes where residents face recurring threats.
- Work across institutions: Engage relevant federal agencies, state authorities, security leadership and community representatives to pursue coordinated action.

The role is not to promise that kidnappings will end overnight. It is to use the office, influence and available constitutional powers to press for a stronger, more accountable security response.

Residents deserve to know which candidate understands this distinction.

So, why Bala?

Among the candidates seeking to represent Akure North and South, the question should not simply be who has the loudest campaign or the biggest crowd.

It should be: Who has demonstrated a willingness to engage communities, understand their everyday challenges and build a record of practical intervention?

Hon. Balarabe Abiodun Akinwumi, popularly known as Bala Wùmí, is the ADC candidate for the federal constituency.

His supporters point to his previous public-service experience, professional background and community interventions through the Balarabe Abiodun Akinwumi Foundation (BAAF).

Public reports have documented initiatives associated with his community work in education, skills development, water access and livelihood support. His campaign has also undertaken ward-level engagements in Akure North, including visits to Wards 5, 3, 8 and 12 in August 2026.

These activities matter because effective representation should begin with understanding people and maintaining contact with them beyond election season but let us be clear: community development work is not the same as a proven record of reducing kidnapping. Bala should be judged on the security commitments he makes, the credibility of his plans and what he can demonstrate through his actions.

The opportunity before him is to build on his grassroots engagement and present a clear, practical approach to the security crisis affecting Akure North.

Not another generic promise to make everyone safe. A plan that identifies vulnerable communities, pursues the right institutional support, demands accountability and gives residents a way to track progress.

That is the kind of representation people should be asking for.

The question of acceptance

There is a reason grassroots engagement matters in a constituency like Akure North.

A candidate cannot represent communities effectively by knowing only the major roads, attending political meetings and appearing during election season. The smaller communities, farming settlements, market traders, young people and families living with insecurity must also be heard.

Reports of Bala's ward visits in Akure North described a warm reception from party leaders, members and supporters. That provides evidence of engagement within the party's grassroots structures, although it should not be mistaken for proof that every resident or even a majority of residents has endorsed him.

Broader acceptance must be earned. It is earned when people believe a candidate understands their concerns, takes them seriously and is willing to remain accountable after the votes have been counted and in communities facing insecurity, that standard should be particularly high.

Residents should ask Bala and every other candidate the same questions:

- What specific security interventions will you advocate for?
- How will you work with the relevant authorities?
- How will you keep residents informed about your efforts?
- What will you do when promises are made but nothing changes? and how will you measure progress beyond campaign rallies and statements?
- These are not unfair questions. They are the minimum questions citizens should ask anyone seeking the privilege of representing them.

Akure North deserves more than sympathy

When farmers are afraid to visit their farms, families are anxious in their homes and residents feel compelled to protest on a major highway, the problem has gone beyond political talking points.

The people need representatives who understand the seriousness of the situation and are prepared to use their offices to pursue real action.

Bala Wùmí's candidacy presents an opportunity for residents to examine a candidate with grassroots engagement, community interventions and a proposed agenda that includes security and good governance.

The final judgement, however, should rest on the strength of his plans, the credibility of his record and his willingness to be held accountable because the people of Akure North should never have to choose between farming and feeling safe, between travelling and worrying whether they will arrive or between keeping quiet and protesting just to be heard.

The real question is not who can promise security most convincingly. It is who is prepared to turn representation into sustained pressure for action.

What do residents of Akure North want to see from the next MHR on security?

What specific commitments should Bala make before asking the people for their mandate?

Let's discuss.

Are Igbos Tribalistic?” A Yoruba Man Drops a Political Bombshell!.

Are Igbos really tribalistic, or is there more to Nigeria's political voting history than many people realise? A Yoruba man has sparked an important debate about ethnicity, elections, and political loyalty in Nigeria.

In this Chinick TV political analysis, we examine the argument about how voters in the South-East have supported different presidential candidates across several election cycles. Why do some Nigerians describe support for Peter Obi in the 2023 election as tribalism? Should the same standard apply to every region and every political candidate?

This discussion goes beyond ethnic labels. We look at voting patterns, political consistency, national unity, and the importance of judging political support by evidence rather than stereotypes.

Watch the video to the end and tell us what you think: Is supporting a candidate from your ethnic group automatically tribalism?

If you believe Nigeria needs issue-based politics, accountable leadership, and a New Nigeria, join the conversation respectfully.

Jokes Etc › Re: Meet New Born Baby Going Viral For Having A Mustache After Birth. by itzadorable333: 2:03am On Oct 24
Infotubia9ja:
A Newborn Baby Goes Viral for Unbelievably Distinguished Mustache

There’s a new sheriff in town, and he looks like he’s been running a saloon since the 1800s.

A photo of a newborn is currently making the rounds online, and it’s not because of a cute yawn or a tiny pair of socks. Wrapped snugly in a hospital towel and sporting a head of damp, dark hair, this little one is stealing hearts with one incredibly prominent feature: a full, dark, handlebar-style mustache.

If you look closely at the image, the baby isn't just rocking a mustache; there's a distinct little soul patch/goatee happening on the chin, too. Combined with the slightly furrowed brow and the wide-eyed, thousand-yard stare, the infant looks less like he just entered the world and more like a disgruntled retiree who just realized the price of milk has gone up.

The internet has already had a field day with the image. Comments are flooded with jokes about the baby being an "old soul," asking if he was born with a briefcase, or wondering if he just finished a long shift at a 1920s newsroom. He gives off distinct "Benjamin Button" energy and looks ready to offer financial advice or complain about the local tax rate.

While the image is undeniably hilarious and looks like a medical marvel, it is highly likely a digital creation—either AI-generated or meticulously edited for a laugh. While newborns can be born with fine, dark hair (lanugo), a thick, groomed handlebar mustache is biologically impossible for an infant.

one thing is for certain: this kid has a face that demands respect. If he keeps that facial hair, he's definitely not going to get carded when he tries to buy a pacifier.

Business › Re: Nigeria Now $2.4trn Purchasing-power Economy As Oyedele Courts Private Capital by itzadorable333: 1:06am On Oct 24
MCentral:
Nigeria’s economy is worth about $2.4 trillion when measured by purchasing power parity (PPP), making it the world’s 19th-largest, Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele told a Chatham House event in London on Oct. 21.

He used the figure to sell the country’s consumer market to foreign investors as the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) October 2026 projections put the country’s GDP measured by PPP at $2.44 trillion international dollars, placing it between Egypt in 18th place and Taiwan in 20th.

Nigeria’s output is also more than twice South Africa’s $1.08 trillion international dollars.

In nominal dollar terms the picture is very different. The same IMF data put Nigeria’s economy at $386.67 billion, 48th in the world, with income per head of $1,594.

“The next phase of growth will be financed by private capital, domestic and foreign, and not by the state borrowing more,” Oyedele said.

Demand that is often underestimated

PPP adjusts output for the fact that a naira buys far more locally than its market exchange rate suggests.

Nominal per-capita income of $1,594 suggests a very poor market. However, when measured by purchasing power, the figure is about $10,051, so the average Nigerian can buy far more than the dollar number implies.

Companies selling everyday products priced in naira, such as noodles, data bundles, cement and beer, are selling into a much larger market than the dollar headline suggests.

Put simply, food, transport, rent, labour and services cost much less in Nigeria than in the US.

For investors, the PPP figure measures how much Nigerians actually produce and consume. On that basis Nigeria’s 242 million people form Africa’s largest consumer market for food, telecoms, banking, cement and household goods.

Low local costs also favour manufacturers and service firms that produce in Nigeria for export.

The government says investors are already responding. Capital importation rose to $10.37 billion in the first quarter of 2026 from $1.13 billion three years earlier, and foreign direct investment reached $4.01 billion in 2025, the Federal Ministry of Information said.

Limits to PPP Measurements

PPP measurements for an economy however has its limits, though.

Foreign investors earn in naira but measure returns in dollars, euros or pounds, so the nominal economy and the exchange rate decide what they can take home.

The gap between Nigeria’s PPP and nominal rankings is largely the result of the naira’s devaluations since 2023.

Income per head on a PPP basis is also less than half of Egypt’s, which makes Nigeria a large but low-income market where shoppers are highly sensitive to price and companies must sell small, cheap units, with margins thin when costs rise.

For investors, the PPP number is best read as a measure of how many potential customers and how much demand Nigeria has.

The nominal number is a measure of what that demand is currently worth in hard currency. The case for investing rests on narrowing the gap between the two, through a stable naira, lower inflation and rising incomes, which would help translate Nigeria’s purchasing-power scale into dollar returns.

If y'all like use girdle to measure 'nigeria's' economy, when you finish go and borrow (in addition to the $trillions 'nigeria' already owes) another $trillions from IMF and co. (well JP Morgan is here now you don't need to go far any longer) so you can use as purchasing power to acquire another girdle for another measurement.

Perhaps next time, instead of attempting to sound profound, you could focus on clarity. After all, gibberish might make for an interesting conversation starter, but it hardly contributes to meaningful dialogue.

A slave? Hmmmm... Boy, easy with the words you're throwing around carelessly! Trust me, if I were to engage you on that topic alone, provided we were permitted to remove all the gloves from our hands, I guarantee you would deactivate your account here. I mean it. You see, someone of your background shouldn't use that word—slave—as a slur against anyone outside your tribe. Believe me, there are plenty of receipts. You're not in the position to refer to anyone as a slave.

Let me educate you a little. Are you aware that even before the European slave merchants physically landed on the geographical entity now called Nigeria, a certain tribe across River Niger was enslaved by virtually all its neighbors—the Itshekiris, the Binis, the Ijaws, the Ibibios (Aros), the Igalas, etc.? Wouldn't you consider it ironic if today someone from that tribe were quick to label everyone as 'slave'?

Now, add this to your education: the Yorubas fought wars more than any other ethnic group in Africa, and they never lost any! Our forefathers waged brutal wars; they paid the price of peace for us, their descendants. This is why a typical Yoruba person values peace, but those who take this quality of ours for granted always find out. We don't chest-beat; we always deliver when the occasion calls for it. The records are all there; you just need to read up.

Grow up, boy.
LMAO our people normally say "Man's wish is not THE LORD'S wish" . You really wish you were right about that "certain tribe", you really wish you knew their history (which of course you can't because you are a stranger), in fact you really wish you knew your own history and identity before someone 'stooped so low' to enlighten you.
You really wish, but you know what they say about wishes right? So either a certain man keeps wishing or he goes to his elders and learn their own 'history' and lost identity.
A certain man is not your elder nor your kin, neither will he teach you the history of his people, you don't need it. Learn yours first.
