Thank you.
it was the Nairobi address i found on this page while looking for answers and they replied me. I do not have UCI number. where do i see that please? i have read through the entire document.

i will copy the lagos office as suggested.
i have even renewed my passport. can this affect things in any way? i will equally let them know that i have a new passport too.

Ashirioluwa:

You have two options.
First option: send them an email and webform to apologize, and then wait to see if they will overturn their decision.

The IRCC office in Nairobi is in charge of temporary resident permits for Nigerian applicants; therefore, send your inquiry to them and then copy their Lagos office.

https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=Nairobi

You can as well send them email through any of these addresses:
nairobi@international.gc.ca
nrobi.consular@international.gc.ca
nrobi@international.gc.ca

https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=Lagos

Email address:
lagosimmigration@international.gc.ca
abuja@international.gc.ca

Don't forget to include your UCI number, passport number, application number, phone number, email address, and full name in your letter.

Second option: Do the first option and also submit a fresh application. In the new application, make sure you mention your previous application.

Family / Re: Pregnant Women Craving For Weird Things by iyaaliya: 9:57pm On Mar 17, 2020
Maybe you haven't experienced these things. So all women fake these cravings. When you understand how hormones go haywire in a pregnant woman's body, you will understand. I hated the smell of my husband's perfume so much that I never wanted to see his shirts around. The smell was so horrible yet I use this same perfume.
I vomitted every day for the first 3months at exactly 9am..9am on the dot...can you imagine that. I eat and eat yet vomit everything the following morning and we won't be able to sleep cos I had eaten too much yet very hungry. At work, our office canteen knows she must have a blocked bottled water. I was eating block and ple would ask me how it doesn't shock my teeth. Driving all the way to white house yaba to go buy moinmoin that I would vomit at 9am or thereabouts. Hummmm. Not our fault. I missed those days badly now.
Those set of people you mentioned; it happens to them also and they send ple around them if they are nice enough like husbands. No be joke abeg.

Belafonte:
All these wonderful cravings never happen to teenage mums, or kept second wives or baby mamas. Men make una dey Mumu una sef una hear?

All these cravings are intentional.

Then you should assess yourself based on this. What are your ties? Married or Single? Your job travel history etc. Your ties are those factors that will bring you back to your home country against all odds. I suggest you read some pages back to understand all these from other people’s transcripts. But you see, invitation letter doesn’t do Jack in your application. So forget that and see how you can convince the VO. The truth is going for a friend’s graduation/convocation doesn’t even mean anything to them again infact, no purpose of travel is genuine anymore.

immax:
Hi thanks for the advise I just applied for HND part-time program I do work with a company as an accountant I've been working for 2yr with the company my friend is inviting me as student i do earn up to 200k and I will be sponsoring my self ... Honestly, save your money. If you honestly ask yourself and answer these questions, you will know I am not being mean. The person graduating isn't even your family, will the graduation not hold either you there or not, you are still a student, do you think the VO will see you as not taking advantage of the Visa? You are a flight risk, why will your dad be spending over 300k for you to go attend a friend's graduation if he doesn't see that as a send off gift to you. Pls, note I may be wrong but generally, these and many more are what the VO will use to assess you.

Thank you. Royal maroc has short layover. I don buy am. Will look out for Egyptair next time.

seyewest:

Egyptair normally provide accommodation for stopover of more than 10Hrs and above, they provide tours and sightseeing for more than 6hrs and less than 10hrs stopover.
As for Royal Maroc, you will be provided accommodation if your stopover is more than 8hrs and if you're not black or Black African, my client was not provided accommodation while white heading to US and other destinations were provided for, he slept in the airport.

I think your case is different. You are young and active and can actually japa at no risk to you or your family so you may need to prove extra. This mum here is retired. She has probably worked for over 45years. Me I don't see any buying and selling of office wears that will give her more respect than being retired unless the trade is very hugee. Even then, it is best for her to say she is retired and then add this trade in her explanation.

fkj950ax:

When I filled my application. I had Consulting as occupation on my form.
At interview. I told the VO I am a Consultant and have a side hustle as an Event Producer when asked what's do you do.
This side hustle accounted for the 50-pages-plus of Bank Statement I had with me. (They didn't ask for it)

You need to disabuse your mind that everyone pads like you are disposed to. Some of us actually say things as they are and go to bed at night without fear or worries.

Don't let us make this about your ego or lack of mine. Someone needs to get the Mum Stateside for grandparents' duty. That's more important
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by iyaaliya: 10:38pm On Mar 01, 2020
Let me chip in something...
She is retired and I don't think selling office wears can bring to her the respect with which the VO will look at her than being retired! Fill the retired there, you filled retired last time so did she stop retiring? During interview she can tell VO what she does after retirement. Unless well, the business is huge.
My daddy retired for some time now but has got a consulting job and chairs so many associations that keep him super busy but he never mentioned that extra duties. His applications after retirement have been retired and on few occasions he tells VO these extra duties but he gladly announces to the world, 'i am retired'. Pls leave it as is, if questions come up about this business, do you think VO will be swayed by such business? is the business huge enough? I think what you should focus on are: her sponsor? If your sister, how did she get to US etc

Bkoks:
Hello everyone,

I am applying for my mum's visa. My major concern is she is retired from teaching in 2016 and has been selling office wears for women since then, she was denied last year (I filled in retired), now that I am reapplying should I fill in business and write more about her office wears sales instead of focusing on her retirement and pension from FG.

I will appreciate your advise and response.

Romance / Re: Do I Break Up With Him? by iyaaliya: 6:56am On Jan 10, 2020
Fareee123, have you considered the following: is he married/or lives with fiancee? The fact that he is in Final year doesn't mean he is single. Have you considered where he gets such money from to pay 20k per month and house rent and still lock up after? This is strange. I am not saying young guys in school from a rich home or with his business can not spend like this or a Yahoo boy too but these set of people have the time in this world. If they can't have the time to call; they fly you down to spend time together. Therefore, babes, in this Nigeria of today, this is a married man behaviour. Check well so you make a decision.
If attention is more important to you, pls let him go if he is not ready to change. You are still young and shouldn't start your life like this, money will not give you the attention/these cravings you deserve or want as time goes on and if he is not married and you end up married, it becomes worse. Marriage sometimes brings out the worst in some men.
Another thing is he may be tired of the relationship but doesn't want to ghost you like since money is not the problem. So he continues to spend but withdraws the attention until you receive sense on your own. #myhunbleopinion.

This is the reason why we have a lot of refusal transcripts on this forum. Just try your luck. Haven’t you noticed that the people who got visas recently come with sound transcripts? Those who prepared and already know what and what they want out of the interview?
We will say let me try my luck and we come back shouting US doesn’t want us in their country again. Like that poster who is a lecturer, has a kid and yet his mum is sponsoring him for an academic conference. Even the VO shook. Anyone who is going to be applying using luck; better not to apply!
emily111:

.

Do not discourage anyone who knows that maybe is luck and good things may come from there.

Please go ahead and let her do research on what kind of visa you need or for her to be less stressed let her involve immigration lawyer so they can help out properly from there.

With the way things are, her chances of getting the visa is quite slim. I suggest you file for her and come to naija to see her pending her immigrant visa approval.
chinwe12:
Hello all, I just filed form DS160 for my 5 years old daughter to come to US for the summer holiday her interview is on July and she will be back to naija by sept for school resumption, I am a lpr and want to file a ds260 for her and I know that will take some time so I want her to come for the summer holiday and return by sept, then after she returns to naija, at least I must have seen and spent some time with her then I will file form ds260 for her because I was told that once I file ds260 for her she won't be allowed to come visit, so once she returns to naija by Sept by God's grace I plan to file for her ds260 in Oct at least I will be satisfied that I have seen her before waiting 2 or more years for her immigrant visa to be processes please do you think shes gonna be considered as she would be going with her legal guardian and is she gonna be asked any question since she's five and is the legal guardian gonna be asked questions too. Since I'm sponsoring her from the US what document will be required of me? Thanks.

I understand your point. I don't want to doubt that 4K payment for birthing and the fact that she got visa renewed afterwards since I wasn’t there so I am not even going to comment on that. My problem with the post is that it is making that as a standard for birthing and visa renewal while tryna rubbish some good works here. We all know 4K is not the standard, if you got it that low, we thank God for journey mercies, drop your testimony and go home in peace!
TWoods:

I very much doubt the VOs are angry about birthright citizenships. I think the issue is there is no way you can pay $4000 for a full birth and someone somewhere isn’t picking up the slack. The typical American pays 3x that amount for the exact same procedure. Unfortunately they don’t have the luxury of “discounts” that Nigerians magically find. If someone else was coming to take advantage of your hard earned taxes, you’d tighten the rules too. The VOs are simply asking folks to pay the going rate for a normal birth.
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by iyaaliya: 8:20am On Jun 07, 2019
I will agree with you but then we know some things remain the standard whichever way we want to see this visa issues. There are still standards we know from time immemorial that once you don’t meet up, it is a No for them. Now, think of the recent developments in their visa policies and you will agree that the standard will be higher. A wise applicant will think of the worst case scenario and prepare. Forget those ones who don’t have passports, focus on your end goal and prepare very well taking into consideration all the ‘gibberish’ that have also helped people here not making people to prepare using someone else’s lower standard (that well, fortunately worked for the person).
To me, this forum is to make you look deeper into your circumstances and evaluate yourself before one will go waste 65k and/or a ban on top...hiannn.
Yes, there was a time going to buy wedding dress and or shopping for wedding in the US means nothing to them but right now it appears to be a ‘silly reason’ to them. That’s is the applicant’s reality and the truth but not enough reason to give visa. Conference was the deal back then but we know what it looks like now. See, there will always be people who know nothing about stuff here but you see, from the message of a mad man sometimes, lies the truth not even saying the experienced ones here oh from whom we have gained a lot either we got the visa or not! So to me, it is somehow for someone to just come and be talking down on people’s efforts. I am sure no one loves that but well....
All in all, set your self above the standard not some go and apply, nothing dey happen levels.

Note please that this is not to support some rude/overzealous comments here but someone like me will take the message and ignore the messenger ishh.
Ebalu953:

In as much as i appreciate this forum, i wouldnt quite blame her for talking that way. The most annoying part is that people that dont even have an international passport talk more of leaving the shores of Nigeria, can just make irrelevant judgements based on what they read or talk anyhow. There are subtle ways of giving your opinions without hurting people. Things have changed at the us embassy. What works for A maynot work for B. There are no set rules in answering questions. Things are easier said than done on nairaland. When you get to the embassy you will understand that most times, you are not even given the opportunity to clearly express yourself, as you are interrupted or cut short during interviews. However, no doubt, birthing issues have been a major concern for the USA. If only they can set a standard on birthing prices and all then i don't think people would have problems renewing visas because honestly most people outside nairaland arent even aware they cant accept certain discounts.

I taya. I have been following that posts and I don’t know why she is quick to use a single experience to talk down on a coalition of experiences here. While opinions must always always differ, you shouldn’t use a single experience of 4K medical bill to say peeps are just guess working when we have seen several other posters with close to 10k being denied and you want people to advise using your 4K standard??
Saying people carry US for head, people fear US nobody talks, when did we start pokenosing into other countries ‘s affairs. If you Cannot comply substantially, you stay in your house! I am not saying you cannot even challenge them, go ahead and give us feedback; shebi our lawmakers summoned them the other time but please don’t undermine the hard work of the contributors here and don’t make people think getting the visa is not ‘hard work’’.
This same country opened up their doors to you to have an automatic citizenship for your children, yet; someone will still come and say nothing dey happen. If they shut that door today, some of us will say thank God oh, I don born mine Comot yet; you don’t want to accept them as your ‘meal ticket’. Hypocrisy!
Even though I feel bad with the way they treat us at their embassies n POEs but if we don’t stop taking advantage of their seemingly friendly system, we are likely to continue to get that treatment unfortunately! We all know how many multiples they give other countries. Can we then say they are ‘irrational or unnecessarily mean’ to us? We will be addressed the way we present ourselves!

seyewest:

I don't get why she's angry and mad at the forum. This forum has done far more good to a lot of people, you can't trash 5-6 yrs of knowledge because someone offended someone on this forum, we're all adult and normally I will keep quiet but thrashing our hard work is something I will not take, most time the advice on this forum is based on current trend and right now, birthing in U.S is dangerous and if you plan to do discounted birthing, you may end up not getting your visa renewed.
This forum is not the official U.S Embassy Nairaland forum this is clear before getting on the forum so why not go to the U.S Embassy forum instead of this forum. None of us worked with U.S Embassy but with the little we know, I believe we've changed a lot of life for better.

There are exceptions to every rule. Yours was different but how many people can we count to be this lucky and you know we can’t use exception as a standard. My point is , I was in that embassy in April and I saw how peeps who went for birthing were denied cos of the payment. I saw one family who was asked to go get their complete documents and they will make a decision when the VO queried the amount. They said they paid much more and her hubby was ransacking their transparent folder looking for a receipt or document. So this payment thing get as e dey do them for body. Are they just angry that US gives this opportunity of automatic citizenship and they want to take it away with the other hand by now looking for bills above 10k dols or what?
