She took a clue from Donald Trump, and built a wall, to curtail unwarranted border trespassing. Considering that very recently there was an outstretched hand, trying to violate personal spaces, I want to believe that this is a welcome development. |

Righteousness89:And who revealed this to you? |
Christiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, heads and shoulders above all. |

Tyriq:No, he didnt. Infact he only let Deco and Ronaldinho go. Players like Samuel Eto'o Xavi , Iniesta, Puyol, Valdes etc were still very much active. Infact, eto was so active that season that he was la liga highest goal scorer. Gradually, Pep started to build his team around Messi, but he didnt just start tossing old guards aside |
Tyriq:I do not feel the urge to type for so long, but when Guardiola came In 08/09 he only sold Ronaaldinho and Deco, but he also had the vastly experienced duo of Xavi and Iniesta, and then there was the emergence of the irrepressible Lionel Messi. Suffice to say that there was already so much on ground. He only just moved on the older generation. Same cannot be said for Koeman today. If Pique goes, who cordinates the defence? Messi and Suarez contributed more than half of Barcelona's goals this past season, and you just want to sell them ? Where will your goals then come from ? Who will anchor the midfield as well as Sergio? Well, you could say they have money and could make a splash in the transfer market, but these new players would need time to settle. In that time we are waiting for them to settle, things could horribly go wrong. Case study, Man united post Ferguson era. |
mastermaestro:If all these players leave at once, Barca will suffer for 600 years |
Ronald Koeman should be wise to know that to help guide a club, as big as Fc Barcelona, in her transitioning process, would require adequate planning and time. Emphasis on time. Yes, it has become expedient for the club to move on from seeming old hands to younger players, but Players like messi, Suarez, Sergio and Pique cannot just be tossed aside, with all the collective experience they possess. Keep these old guards still, whilst you interject fresh blood, and watch how smooth the transistioning process would go. Exactly how Pep managed City, during his first season in charge. |

I would rather have him at attacking team where winning is not "by pressure". He's a skilful player, a dribbler. You enjoy dribblers in a team that loves to dominate possession, not one which their aim is to win anyhow[/quote]Thank you, sir. My point exactly |
Crownstar01:Of course i saw the match against Liverpool. Of course Simeone knows his onion. But thats not even the bone of contention. I still maintain my arguement sha, Simeone isnt the best coach for Samuel. Lemar was a young player doing excellently in the french league, and then he came to Simeone's ATM. We know the story. The story of Joao Felix too is a reference. I see ppl mentioning Torres, Costa et al. These players didnt make thier name under Simeone. |
Crownstar01:Specifically, which Nigerian players are we talking about here? Anyways, thats an aside. My point is that the player, Chukwueze, would struggle to fit into Simeone's defensive structure. |
Hezzyluv:Largely, players first need to fit into the manager's style of play, for them to be considered a success. Chukwueze, on the wings, is a wild flyer. He isn't very disciplined, defensively. Simeone is a great coach, but Chukwueze's style would be largely restricted, considering how defensive minded the man is. Although, that does not mean he would totally flop if he does swap villareal for Simeone's team. I am just saying he would most likely not reach expected height, playing for a manager that's largely revered for his defensive set up. Case in study, Arjen Robben played for Chelsea under Mourinho, and was considered a good player. But when he left England to spain, and then to Germany, and specifically under Pep Guardiola, he became a world beater. I see similirities in Chukwueze and Robben. And i see similirities in Mourinho and Simeone. That's all i am saying |
Hezzyluv:He would prosper under a lot of managers, but definitely not Simeone o. |
airminem:Even with my 'k', some ppl still Festus reach here. |
