i will refrain from abusing you now, and try to answer ur question as much as ur level of intellect can handle.
you mentioned other countries not having the same dilema as we have concerning this fraudulent acts,
and i suppose by other countries u mean developed ones.
well let me start by saying that if not for the recent recession and all, this countries have taken time to provide for their citizen either by way of welfare packages, or job availability.
those who have refused to work in those countries either do so based on their personal reason and not cos they have searched relentlessly for any kind of job and found none.
its only in naija you suffer to go to school and yet finding job becomes diff.
yes agreed that some graduates that have ben churned out of our universities are not fit to be called graduates, does that stop the federal government from doing its bit. am sure if our educational system was running smoothly, we would turn out graduates that are beffiting for the name they qualify for.
then again its the job of the federal government to make this schools admissible to the students.

you claim secondaryu school students have also picked up the act of 419ning, well sorry but ever considered that they noticed that their older ones who graduated like 5yrs ago have found nothing meaningful to do.

then same n.n.p.c offered him role as media spokesman and what happens, rest is history. he gets as corrupt as they all are.

i quite agree with you on the approach Sony took which is absolutely wrong for an organisation of such magnitude.
opening itself that much, i would have believed they have legal advice on the implication of such adds being released to the public.
afterall Nigeria has every right to sue them and even close their company here down.

but my pain is this, consider the amount of applications from Nigerians they get for job placement yearly,
and how many they have had to turn down, not cos of sub-requirements, but rather forthe mere fact that they are Nigerians.
it pains me that opportunities we could easily exploit to show our skills and talents are being denied us simply be cos we possess an identity that is fast being seen as an outcast in the world.

its plain jealousy that Ghana has achieved what has been impossible for Nigerians to achieve over the years.
and as much as it pains me to admit it, its the truth.
we have to stop tongue lashing and criticizing Ghana, but rather encourage them to sustain this giant steps they have taken,
while we work on how to make us better and more productive.
one thing that is for sure is that, with the resources we possess, both natural and human, we would in no time surpass even other already developed countries if we get half our act right.

people from diverse religion, cultures, backgrounds and even discipline. if there is something i have come to realise from this forum, is the fact that
our country is blessed with the brightest minds the world can ever boast of.
but what are this minds doing to be recognised? what have we done to affect the state of our nations?
Claiming to own a torch, and not making use of it, is like not even having one atall. infact, its a worse crime to have one and not use it than not to have had atall.
yes we have stated that the nation has been held to ransome by a few greedy and obtuse minded politicians, but have we raised our voice against theirs?
have we come out with our agenda and plan asking for a change?
what really have we done other than fight our selves here and cry fowl about news of embezzlement from this people.
sometimes we forget that they are there to serve us and not us to serve them.
sometimes i feel like we are even celebrating the mediocrity we call democracy, when actually we know the right thing to do.
Nigeria will not move forward unless we all come together and do something about it. i don't know how others perceive it,
but am sick and tired, and knowing that i have no other country to adopt,  then something must be done.

it starts from here. we can make our voice heard. its our call and our choice. we either clamour for a change or remain backward like we are and get disrespected by other smaller countries like Ghana, South-Africa and even Ivory-coast.

i know we have learned colleagues here who can advice us on how to go about this. even if it means having a political party formed by nairalanders and supported by us.
we are a community here, be it cyber or not, we have to start acting like one.

2011 is just around the corner, its not to late to start planning a change.
we can do it only if we set our minds to it.
am all for change, and would support it as long as its one where my voice will be heard.
