I don't understand what you mean by same occupation but different positions.

In as much as the job functions are in consonant with your chosen occupation, you have nothing to fear or sorry about.
VETASSESS now provides a complete assessment, which includes points test advice. You don't need to pay separately. I did mine though with the last regime. And just after mine the rules changed and price went up. And be aware that they deduct 1 yr from your experience now.

@izykvision0,

Hello my brother, My School currently placed me in Melbourne, they also have campus in Ballarat, so am thinking since Melbourne is not a Regional City to gain State Sponsorship, I am thinking of changing my Campus to Ballarat where the School also has her Campus. Now my Question is if there are Job opportunities in Ballarat for Students and will one be qualified for State Sponsorship if studied there?
I won't advice u to plan for Victoria state sponsorship, if u still av d option of 189 or other states. Victoria is choosy and should only be used if they are the only route to obtaining PR. Since the situation is still under ur control, plan properly.

Hello House, does anyone know if Ballarat is a Regional Area in Victoria? And what are the Job Prospects there for Students?

Pls response. Bellong abeg answer this also.
Sorry didn't see your message and a bit confused how the messaging works on nairaland. You can as well post it here, will respond.

Ballarat is fine only if your Uni or work is around that axis. If not, it i will take you like 2hrs 30mins or more to get to the CBD; its quite FAR.

Reporting live from Melbourne. Arrived yesterday with my family. Smooth journey but long.

Boarder force didn't even check our bags. Just d declaration form. Went with a few gadgets and food spices. The nicest was all my baggages were received in Melbourne, without collecting personally between flights, as I used 2 different airlines.

Above all, Melbourne is beautiful. I presume same for Australia as a whole.

Another nice one was that we got picked from arrivals by our Airbnb host for half taxi fare.

That's true. I just checked now, and there was no furnished apartment in those areas. I wonder why. Lots of furnished apartments where we are.
You see why I wanted to carry a few gadgets with my KG.

What about satchet tomato paste and palm oil?

Even if you bring them, you will need an adaptor at each point, cos their sockets are different here.

Which suburb are you looking at?
Yea prepared for d sockets way before now. Will narrow it down to essentials : steam iron, Electric kettle and Sandwich toaster. Irrespective will still need to buy the adaptors cos of phones and laptop.

Is blended crayfish on its own OK?

Looking at Melton, Melton West, Melton South or Kurunjang.
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by izykvision0:

The oil and pasta are fine, but they might have an issue with the noodles and maggi crayfish, cos of the animal products content......but you can try though...cos the indomie noodles they have here is not so yummy jor.

Regarding gadgets...I would advise you drop them. You might end up getting a furnished apartment (which is advisable), and wont need all those gadgets, cos the house would come with them. If you really have excess space, I would advise you bring foodstuff instead of gadgets.

Another thing you can do is grind the maggi crayfish into powder, and just declare as seasoning. I brought Knorr ordinary and it was allowed. you can also empty the indomie seasoning into a bowl, and just declare as seasoning. Then remove all the noodles from the pack.

I hope you have bought a jumper or a pull over. Victoria is very cold at the moment...single digits cold. It was 8 degrees here in Qld this morning...and that's in sunny Qld o.
Thanks for d info. Just noticed that most brits migrated with gadgets, so thought in dat line as almost all accommodation I've seen in my selected area come empty, with the exception of a gas cooker and dishwasher.

What about blended crayfish on its own?

As for jumper et al, placed an order for a jacket for my kid, winter shoes for my kid, a comfy travel shoe for my spouse and Australian style adaptors on eBay as far back as March. As of date only received the shoes. The rest na voice mail. No thanks to Naija postal service. And to think that the shops resent the items and still not here is shameful.

Reading comments on this blog (http://blog.sydneybybyron.com/2009/12/why-do-immigrants-leave-australia.html?showComment=1388679570988&m=1#c5998832649134648232) scares the shit out of me.

Please guys in Australia should share their experiences.
Immigration is not for everybody that is what people must come to terms with in Nigeria and in the world. Someone in Australia or in Nigeria can't advice you on that. Some pple get professional jobs within a month, 2months, 6months and some never get. Some pple can live abroad for 5years and still feel like they left Nigeria last week, while some will be frustrated and depressed barely 3months on landing.
You need to ask yourself what you want in life and do you achieve them in the most favourable way to You and only You?
NO ONE ON ANY FORUM IN THE WORLD WILL DECIDE YOUR PATH. They all post personal experiences nd personal indeed they are.
Indians for instance set the pace for their own depression, when they leave India and intend living in an Indian community in Oz, house share by Indians, live beside Indian stores and temples, infact an Indian extension. This is perceived as an act of sociological security by them, when in actual fact they have just caged themselves in its evasive illusion. some Nigerians tread this path.
YOU MUST ACCEPT AND EMBRACE THE CULTURE OF WHERE YOU ARE GOING TO INORDER TO LIVE A NORMAL LIFE, IF NOT ONE IS BETTER OF IN HIS/HER HOME COUNTRY.

Getting ready eh! The countdown has begun...Get ready for a longggggggg flight! Well you have just 1 kid sha, so you and your wife can exchange.

Word of advice...bring AV cord along. You would hate to buy 150 cord for $20 (might be even higher in a capital city).

How far accommodation? Have friends here?
I can imagine, so so long.

Registered with airbnb. Gonna send messages today.

The Av cord thingy, thought it comes with the TV or sound system when bought, that is the red, yellow and white cords? Or which AV cord are u referring too?

TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by izykvision0: 5:56pm On Jul 07, 2015
For those who can't wait for IOM or just as a second option, try this route:

Lagos - SouthAfrica Via Ethiopian Airline with minimal stopover in Addis Ababa.

SA- Melbourne with minimal stopover at Singapore. There are other destinations in Oz.

Quite cool.

Just got mine all booked. Cheaper than the Asian route.

Yes, the child gets 30kg. Stroller is the mobile carriage for babies... Don't know if it is also called buggy. The hand luggage part is funny. how will the child carry it? grin cheesy I guess, the child is entitled to it too..
Lol. Thanks. Have u moved now?
TravelRe: General Australian student Visa Enquiries Part 2 by izykvision0: 8:02am On Jul 07, 2015

You get baggage allowance for everyone you paid for irrespective of age. And it is full baggage as determined by the airline. If you have an infant, you have extra for stroller.
Thanks Belong.

Let's say d airline gives 30kg. So the child gets 30kg, hand luggage + stroller? By stroller u mean buggy?

Have you tried booking with multiple destinations?
Lol. Not tried that, but I think that will make the journey so so long.

I thought with naija passport Malay transit visa is required
People tend to get confused with this transit visa of a thing. One needs a transit visa if ure leavn d airport and its valid for 3days most of the time. I Traveled via Italy from UK before, I wasn't askd for it because I wasn't leavn d airport. I stand to be corrected though.
