Settling is a gradual process... Slow but steady .... Keeping all senses (not just eyes) on job agencies websites. Done most of my registrations tho... Just applications

Jetstar ... Is a relatively cheap airline, and as you will guess ... It's pretty much standard, nothing extraordinary. No inflight entertainment, and you'd have to buy your food too lol....the staff are generally nice people and they have good customer relations skills.

You coming to SA? When do you intend to.
Yea slow and steady wins d race. Nope, heading for Melbourne. Planned to move this month, but IOM Australia said early August is fully booked, let alone July. Still waiting on Abikoye, but not expecting anything new.

Thinking Ethiopian airline to Malaysia, which cost N272k for a family of 3. There are really no flights to Singapore via Ethiopian airline. Unfortunately Jetstar will move before we arrive in Malaysia and takes 14hrs going thru Perth. Airasia will cost N154k with no add ons and move 4hrs after we arrive and its duration is 7hrs 30mins direct flight to Melbourne. But remember d Airasia saga... LOL.

What do u think?

Congrats bro, more success. But that took almost one year o
Thanks. I tire o. Victoria took time as usual and DIBP application was wrong timing so to speak.

Best time to apply for a 190 visa is between August and November... then u deal with the certainty of 6weeks waiting period, if all is well with ur app. and u av frontloaded. Outside of that window , its a game of chance.

It is a known fact...but after two years of study ur post study visa is almost a guarantee. UK may kick u out!
UK will SURELY kick him out with pleasure after his 1yr Msc programme.

UK is a total waste of resources, except the person intends coming back to naija to romance the applicants job market or of course has the naija watch word: connection.

Please anyone: I just collected my police clearance (PCC) and noticed it has 3 months validity. How does this affect initial entry date to Australia after visa grant?
It's valid for 1yr for Oz migration.

pple....Jenny said this and lemme say it again:

It is Oz and not Aussie
U can call it Australia or Down under

Then an Aussie is a citizen and u can use it as an adjective. .E g An aussie ascent or australian ascent
Nice one.

My BEng was equivalent as my EA letter says: my BEng meets d current academic req for Professional Engineer (Skill level 1). Then the last paragraph said dat my foriegn MSc is broadly comparable to an Aus Msc for purposes of awarding points for qualification under GSM.

I have 6 months pre BEng exp
3months pre Msc exp and
4 yrs 5months post Msc exp
In simple terms, if ur Msc was assessed as being suitable, then u can only claim work exp. AFTER ur Msc. If only ur Bsc is suitable then u can claim post bsc and post Msc.

So other PR aspirants take note!

I dey bro.

The register is the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register. Your kid automatically gets on it once they get a shot in Aus.

New immigrants are only entitled to Family Tax Benefit A & B, CCB and CCR. All you do is lodge the claim online, take a couple of docs to the centre link office so they can upgrade your online self-service access. You can either choose to upload the required docs needed for your claim, or have them upload it for you at centrelink. Then you wait 21days to start receiving the benefits. They backdate payments to when you first lodged the claim though.. And you can choose to receive it fortnightly, quarterly or annually.

You then take yours and the kids customer reference number to the daycare. They will do the calculations and tell you how much you are then to pay. If you choseto have the cCCB paid to the daycare, then all you do is pay whatever is remaining after CCB and CCR are applied. By if you choose to have it paid to your account, then you pay the full daycare fees and your accounted credited.

New migrants also qualify for rent assistance, if your rent is more than a certain amount per fortnight.
Nice one. Thanks. I guess if i go to d centrelink website i will get all info on the process and docs required, right?

Didnt know of that for rent. What is d threshold? And is dat irrespective of city or suburb living?

Lol...abi ooo. Nothing as secure as govt job he he.

You have 1yr from the day u take your meds or the date on your PCC...whichever us earlier.
Aw far na, aws ur wknd going? Since getting on 190 have u made moves on getting ur kids on govt. approved day care for child benefit yet? Pls kindly tell me the process, still gonna read it up though. So many links and benefits explained. I know of a medical register the child has to be on first, to tender to d skl or sumtin.

@ izykvision0:Mehn just played around checking fares, I couldn't believe my eyes. For a family of 3 around June/July its 970k thereabout on Emirates and 780k thereabout on Etihad/Qatar. In winter? Serious matter o. August is even higher.

What miracle can IOM perform here, knowing that they use Emirates?

IOM will definitely perform miracle. Try to make use of it. The fare for my family of four that I checked earlier, on Etihad was about 1.2million.
I eventually made use of IOM with a total pay of 670k ( despite converting naira to dollar at a rate of 221). Made the payment through my domiciliary dollar account to the IOM Australia account.
So try to make use of the organization. Got my ticket in less than 3 days after payment.
All the best
Really. Did they get Emirates or Etihad for u? And for what month was that? Learnt on this forum they have a naira account.
