Funny enough, this is the same card i used to pay for Vetassess assessment and points test with no issues. So i actually moved the funds from my Gtb to Firstbank for this purpose.

I have registered a secure code now and those at Firstcontact said my card is good to go. However still got a decline message mins ago, dont know what next now.

Card is firstcash naira mastercard with N1m limit.

Anyone paid DIBP fees with a First Bank Mastercard here?

Tried yesterday but declined. Went into a branch,they said i needed a secure code. Anyways in d process of registering for it, i got my card locked. Called Firstcontact, the girl sounded shallow on her job. She also mentioned credit limit; but on d website the credit limit is N1m.

Pls help.

In that case, put the date you are filling the form, they understand it is current job.


Don't use special characters in filling the form. Use short sentence to describe your job functions.

well the Nigerian post to the western countries take about 3 weeks so I'd reckon the wait could be in that region too.... However, I wouldn't hold my breath knowing how disorganized our postal service can be sometimes .... Hope it comes soon.

An alternative thing may be to get ACRO to send it to a friend of yours in the UK. I think it's 20 pounds to send additional copies if wothing a certain window... Not sure of the details now, pls check. Then you can get your friend to scan and send to you.

Yea thanks. I've arranged for it to be sent to a friend. Its £6 for an additional copy within 3months of request. And £9 for next day delivery.

Also have issues in sending job duties. It keeps saying some rubbish like English, punctuation etc done everything possible, still not going.

Since you are adding her to the application, you must fill it. It is needed in case external security check would be conducted and since she would also be granted the PR, her history is important.

The information you fill is not restricted to claiming points only.

Just concluded my medicals as i want to frontload. But i was given a slip that had a pretoria email or case officer to forward my polio cert to. As i dont have a case officer yet, is d pretoria email the right one for skilled 190. Thinking its more of a student stuff.

Thanks. Option2 is completely out of the question. On no situation am I claiming any points from work experience. All I wanna know is if using B.Sc only will get me comparability as I know my work years and experiences should get me suitability. So if waiting to add M.Sc will be adding extra to surplus (I'm afraid because the degree is from Nigeria)... I'm good to go.

Was ur degree in a Federal Uni? If yes, you are good to go now on just your B.Sc, but if its from a state University according to VETASSES dnt know bout ACS, you may have to wait to finish your M.Sc. It will then be your B.Sc plus M.Sc

Great. Diploma in Computer Science for two yrs, B.Sc in Computer Science for 4yrs and M.Sc in Info Tech for one yr. Project completion is pending (Nigerian factor). I have been begging...done all I can..no way. I could have got d testimonial and proceed. I have paid for its transcript.

When I tested the waters in 2008, I naively used my diploma only and its equivalent was their certificate IV.

Diploma started 2004 and ended 2006. B.Sc started 2009 and finished 2013. M.Sc started January 2014...done all d coursework exams.

I started job in 2002...I'm claiming suitability from 2007 to 2013 duties. I worked with one company throughout.

Stopped job Dec 2013.

ACS has minor and major ICT contents yardstick. When you have major, esp from ur transcripts..u get to have say two yrs of relevant work experience ...with minor u need to show more work years of relevant exp..none related ICT qualifications... most relevant work experience and years.
Mainly, ACS may not award migration points or/& DIBP allot points to work experience got if it is from post-qualifications. There is another clause...that says job history of four years within d last ten years. I wrote to ACS...they said DIBP will interprete and award as they don't do so.

My concern is largely on compatibility (academic qualifications) as I'm almost sure of suitability (work experiences and years).

Your best shot is using Bsc only with

Option 1:
4 yrs work exp., completed within 2005 and 2009 before ur degree started. Dont bother with d Msc. No work exp. points claimed here.

Forget d diploma. DIBP only reckons with an Australian diploma, except ACS says otherwise; of which that is very slim. They are all one way traffic. Moreover ACS already gave u a -ve for d diploma.

Option 2:
But if u wanna claim work exp. points for dibp, u will wait till 2017, if ure currently working in a related job role and started in 2014. This is still without Msc. So that is 4 yrs work exp. + degree + 3yrs skilled work exp.

Do u think I should lodge for skill assessment without waiting to wrap up my Ms? I know our assessing bodies are different... but I wld like ur general view. I want to commit in March.

U've got Bsc in what?

What was the duration of ur diploma?

Ur 7 yrs work exp. is it ict related/ highly relevant to ur nominated occupation in terms of job functions and was dis after ur diploma?

Using ur Msc will negate previous work exp., which means u av zero work experience, if u av a non ict bsc degree. Dont know how diploma is aseessed, but its duration will come into play.

Does ACS not require minimum work exp. after qualification?

I av a nigerian Bsc (2.1) and an Msc (UK). But Vic nomination doesnt boil down to degrees nor grades, but niche skills in demand in one's career path/nominated occupation.

That visa type is from state nominations which means you live and work in ur nominated rural area for four years before breaking away if u wish. .

Which one is 489?

It is 489 not 485.

A temporary visa that spans 4yrs. U are only tied to the state regions for 2yrs after which u can apply for PR with proof of living in the region for minimum of 2 yrs and 1 yr work experience in any field.
