bossladyMo: Was that with VETASSESS?
I assessed with just my BSc, and it was assessed equal to an Aus Bachelor's. I guess the MSc helps if you feel your Bachelor's is gonna fall short. Yea. Nominated Statistician. Bsc Statistics, Msc Management & Finance. |

NNBB2012: Kindly assess with your Bsc, that will give more points in years of experience provided that you will meet the requirement of the skill you want to nominate. Check the requirement with the Assessing body. Generally, using Msc for assessment is a waste of time and that does not give you extra points on the point test. Msc and Bsc have same point-15points. Nope, that is wrong. I assessed with both Bsc and Msc, with my Bsc so highly related to my nominated occupation. However, to my surprise i got positive assessment based on my Msc. |

Hi BossladyMo accept my belated congrats on your new grants. I just called vetassess admin officer now and she confirm that it does not matter and that I can use it for any visa class provide it is permanent. The visa class was not written on the assessment letter. Its on the platform. What do you think. They are right. U can go ahead and use it since the visa subclass aint typed on the assessment itself, which u will be submitting to SA and DIBP. |

BKings: Beautiful news coming around. Congrats y'all, and may God favour you all like bossladymo. Its been four weeks (from tomorrow will be fifth) I applied to four different schools in Australia. Till now, no offer, no news from my agent. I want to know from the experienced ones, do you think I can still make it for July intake, assuming offer eventually comes in this week, considering the time from when I will pay my tuition, get COE, apply for visa etc, and expect a grant? I'm asking because I want to know if its time to finally zero my mind and start working for feb intake. Thanks guys.
P.S. I used agent because most schools now make the agent thing mandatory, and also I don't have much SOA to show, am self sponsored. |

I was really worried when my application changed back to application received 2 days back...guess it was a good sign. 3 gbosa to u oooo. Congrats. Thats nice. Ur mind go touch ground now. mrnilobrawn: For an occupation with below stated qualification
In Australia:
AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
Can ND + HND cut in? If yes, what migration point can that give.
Occupation code is 399211, TRA is d assessing body Google 1119.pdf and go to the education and work exp. points sections respectively. DIBP states what they expect u to av to gain points. A bit tweaked from what vetassess wants for example. |

missakomaye: Please guys I need advice. I have a friend in Aussie, I am supposed to stay with her for a while before I find my footing when I get there. She has sasked for a favor and here it is. She wants me to withdraw my application I had submitted since 2 weeks now and reapply again including her cousin as a my dependent. She promises she has a contact in student visa that assures my visa but I can't go through that visa stress again. I need her help too when I get there so is it too selfish not to want to withdraw my application? I know for a fact she has a contact but the hassles too much abeg.
Has anyone you known withdrawn and reapplied without hassle. If there was a way to skip some steps is wat I am asking For starters, her cousin is not ur sister/brother and not financially dependent on u. So that is a100% rejection. So there is no calculus to re-engineer that basic fact. Its amazing u cld even give such a thought for a minute. People should realize that even family members mess dreams up, let alone friends. She should file for her cousin and that still is vague based on my ist paragraph. Live ur life for urself and not for friends and even family, if u aint married yet. Adebayor the footballer is a perfect example. Pls this goes to every other person on the thread. YOU DONT NEED TO KNOW OR HAVE ANYBODY ABROAD..BE IT TOGO, UK, JAPAN ETC. BEFORE U CAN SETTLE DOWN AND INTEGRATE there. That is the usefulness of the androids, tablets etc everyone carries around these days - not for selfies, but google. |

Thanks Since ur tax is deducted from salary, it wil reflect in ur payslip. So all u need is: 1) Employment letter 2) Reference letter from line manager 3) Payslips ( start, some inbetween and last month b4 application). That is all. Provided your company can be traced online and you guys use work emails and not yahoo. |

ferdimako: Not everybody knew they would one day want to get out..again it is not easy to be admitted in Nigerian universities. So many pple just want to enrol...u are right about following trends and peers.
You can hardly convince somebody here to study veterinary medicine.. it is medicine and surgery...when that didn't work, they end up with biology. I'm not saying biology is bad but vet med would have made more sense outside Nigeria.
My brother just finished statistics and he's already playing with some software..if he can top it with one Masters program... he gonna move up.
My friend...my B.Sc didn't sail, I will add Masters degree soon and top money for ACS. Thanks Yea true talk. Good one bro. Studied statistics as well, which even till date is seen as a low level course by loads of Nigerians. But its economic value out of Naija is mind blowing especially if one is into analytics and can use softwares like SQL, SAS, R, Advanced EXCEL, SPLUNK, HADOOP, PIG and write codes in them. Though its a lot of commitment learning programming languages. |

mPop: ferdimako , that marketing specialist is under the csol but @izsy says no state is sponsoring it. so it means i cant apply for pr with a degree in marketing? I will start by saying this (general): Its unfortunate based on the state of d nation and shallow degree of youth exposure in Nigeria that loads of youth end up doing degrees that are a mis-match to their work experience. U try advising a Nigerian youth on a course to study, but he/she is bent on what his/her passion was since wayback SS2. While some it just hapnd dey got in, and some for peer group ego or parental ego; forgeting about the economic part of d course. Now the headache here is u want to dissert ur bsc degree, which is a fundamental pre-requisite for Aussy PR assessment or a 5yr post bsc work exp. related to d nominated field. Since ure deficient in this regard, pls do a course that will make u relevant in Aussy and at d same time secure PR. You need to do this reaearch on ur own. The sol and csol list + state list will guide u. Never do a course with the hope that a state will sponsor it in future and never do a course that is over flogged and stands d risk of being removed. If u can stay on the health pathway. Its more of a certainty. Study route is ur best bet. So put in ur bucks and research in student visa. |

bossladyMo: We got a bill of $380 for 62 days (cooking, hot water system, laundry, ACs and every other electric powered thig in the house) For the first 2 weeks, we were using the AC 247...but by the time I calculated the potential cost on Ergon website, we sharply reduced the usage. We cool the room at intervals during the day, and use the fan at night. But that's the rate for Ergon Qld...I guess it varies by state.
Electricity Bills are sent out wvery 3mths. Landlord pays for water. Ok cool, thanks for d breakdown. Yea different rates for states, but it gves an idea on the average. So this goes to say u haven't experienced cold spells that requires the use of jackets or cardigans yet? Although winter is still next month and i think Qld is quite hot compared to Victoria. |

Check csol and all state lists, then arrive at a favourable Msc course. Forget about ur sales experience so that it doesnt guide ur course pathway, rather embrace opportunities. If u loved ur Bsc course, u can find ways of integrating into toxicology for instance. There are hotcake areas u can fashion ur Bsc and Msc degree to for Oz. |
