Here, generators are used in every building

I am sure there are kids abroad who have never had anything to do with a generator.

Abi make we roll back 🔙 cars, aeroplane 🛫✈️ and go back 🔙 to using leg 🦵, bicycle 🚲 because bicycle 🚲 repairers have been out of jobs too grin

Postal agencies have also been outta jobs grin

You see people that'd loose jobs when we embrace technology, but you don't see people that will be employed in the field also? grin

There is this uncivilized tropical areal in South America, is it Barbados or something, you can go there and stay, they keep it real with nature, they don't wear clothes, they hang in trees 🌲 like monkeys et cetra..

grin
Oga, i no dey assume with you.

The stats are there for you to see.

Over 100 million are in perpetual, abject poverty
Over 50% are unemployed; No work

So when you phase out what takes care of part of the 50%, How many percent will the new technology take in?

any technology is competing against already established technology with significant investment

it is why gsm took off much faster in nigeria than in the us

it is why debit cards are far less popular in the us than credit cards

electric cars have actually been around since the late 1800s.

in the same way, the petrol subsidy led to situations unique to nigeria

go and look for 10kva petrol generator outside nigeria. you wont find.
Outside Nigeria, they do not have power issues, so why should generators be very popular?

I'm saying it is very possible that CNG has its limitations, that is why auto manufacturers are not even jumping deep into it.

The Petrol cars that are dead here are over 20 years old. Let us see how long one can flog a CNG car, without changing engines first, before we can conclude

I prefer being real, than scroll through my phone and have vivid imaginations.

The countries you are wishing we be, how many of them are in poverty? What are the figures of unemployment level there?

Over 100 million of your people are in poverty. More than 50% are unemployed, but you want to adapt. Adapt to wetin, abeg?

why?
We need the jobs na

For every driverless, buttonless, engineless car adopted, you have displaced a driver, mechanic, auto technician which will have a ripple effect of an auto parts seller and so on.

this may not be a proper analogy

my generator was 4 years old. when i put it on lpg, it was burning oil, and a cylinder would not last 10 hours. now with a new engine, it is not burning oil and a cylinder is going for like 18 hours plus.

i suspect the real issue is that so many cars have already been fked by mechanics with multiple tolerances adjusted. the conventional wisdom was change your car every 4 years, not because of age per se, but because the more mecanic touch am, the more fked the engine is. that may be the root issue, tweaking an already fked car engine
Another reason could be the CNG itself.

Maybe it has adverse effects on engines on the long run.

Maybe that is why car manufacturers still stick to Petrol, despite its rising cost.

Maybe, maybe, maybe

Just so we're clear, you're comparison with David Ibiyeomie is different in the sense that David Ibiyeomie isn't an authority per say in the body of Christ and I believe what he said was to his congregation but this Zakir Naik is a notorious Islamic Apologetics speaker highly revered across Islam today. He moves from country to country preaching what he's preaching.

About the Rape issue, didn't Mohammed and his loyalists conquer infidel nations, killed the men and took their wives to themselves as sex slaves? Is it rape to sleep with such woman against their will?
So how come nobody has raped us (our ladies) since we were born?

I served in the very core north where a boy and a girl cannot enter okada together. How come no Muslim was raping our Southern sisters, even with their gowns and uncovered hairs?

I don't need to be a Muslim to know that it is a lie. If it was, you would have been seeing it play out before now.

Islam is too strict to allow that. A religion where you cover hair, and have 1000 rulings on interacting with the opposite sex cannot easily encourage rape.

The Nigerian Muslim community extol him highly. Recently the Sultan of Sokoto invited him to Nigeria and he came and was the Sultan as the Head of state.
It doesn’t still change the fact that he is lying.

I have never heard of Islam encouraging any form of rape since i was born. How come it is in 2024 that Allah dropped this EP?

Islam wey get law for almost everything; How you go UnCloth wife, laugh with am, kiss am, blah blah blah. Na this kind religion go encourage rape?

That is how David Ibiyeome said Adam ate Tithe. I am sure that is not in your bible.

If a Muslim says it is a Christian doctrine, would you say he is correct?

The reason why Itsrm is speaking this way is because he is getting to gamble at a very very responsible age.

He is matured, and able to know when to stop.

I started my miserable journey to gambling in my final year. It was one bet hous at Abakpa, Enugu.

The first game i played was with 100 naira, and i won 13k.. Na so Bet9ja take blend me. From then, it was back to back loses till i stopped.

So, i can understand Itsrm if he insists he can stop. He's way more responsible and matured as a beginner.

What you don't see with crypto which is the same as betting is, in both cases, the odds are heavily stacked against you.

With betting, you're betting against the bookie and with crypto, you're betting against heavy market movers.

You're betting against people who decide in one corner the direction they want the market to go and are trying to take your small 1 or 2k dollars to add to theirs.

I am not saying betting will turn anyone into a millionaire or billionaire. I don't even believe influencers like Mr banks and the likes make their money from betting

I'm only saying it can be done without getting addicted if you have control over your emotions and treat it as leisure. I know I have over mine.
We are not talking about a hobby here. We are talking psychology; Something that messes with your mindset and thinking

You think people who smoke can take it casually without getting addicted?

In Crypto, if you get burnt, you rest. I haven't seen anyone begging for 2k to buy shit coins

People beg for 100 naira to strike games. People get burnt in betting, and they go into debt to just bet.

You really haven't gone through this path...If you have, you'll understand the wide difference between both.

Itsrm:
Everything you think happens with bet also happen with crypto. Infact, before now, I was totally anti betting. Then I started crypto and realised there's very little difference between them.

Infact, the only major difference is that in crypto, nothing ever dies. You don't lose until you sell. If I make a trade and the market goes against me, I simply close the app until my sell limit gets triggered when bull market returns. With betting, once the game ends, you've either won or lost. The emotions, the high, addiction and every other thing is also there in crypto.

Now you're making me want to open a bet account to prove to you it can actually be done. I will deposit 30k and bet 1k every weekend or every two weekends. I will share my PNL at the end of the season.

Only thing is, if I do, you'll say it's because I wanted to prove a point. grin
Oga, no be the same thing oh.

You can as well say stock trading is the same as betting; which you know is not true.

Crypto firms made their money from trading crypto. No Bet company made its money from placing 2 odds.

I would advise you don't start. Make clap no turn to dance
