Ellexy: Was it not Tinubu that said he avoids social media because it gives him HBP. Somebody they hoarded like palliative so he won't face tough questions about his background and drug activities. Any debate against Obi or Atiku would have messed him up so bad, so they had to hoard him like they did Buhari. Makes you wonder how anyone who has witnessed that level of conversation, debate and arguments between aspirants now turn around to wish Tinubu on his own country. |

A40: What will protest achieve? Not like anyone will resign. They're legally backed to run for 3 more years. That window has passed
Obi and anyone of Igbo stock will be very stupid to join or lead any protest. Nigerians must pay the full stupidity tax of voting a Feudalism merchant like Tinubu. Let the Northerners protest by themselves if they are so badly affected
Next elections people will hopefully be militant about ensuring the Tinubu is bundled out and after sufficient suffering you will chase with cutlass anyone who markets a candidate to you solely based on tribe and religion and not their actual plans Eziokwu bu ndu! As much as Akpabio sounded insensitive with his comment, he is right. All they have to do is go and sleep and eat. After August 15, they resume from where they stopped. The last best time to end bad governance was 2023, and Insha allah, O ti lo. The next best time is 2027, and i know my people well well. Nigeria is gone! |

nihilistjnr: Obi was a tribal candidate imho but I'm not prepared to rehash old argument.
Opposition politics is dirty af. It's not that long ago we saw somebody literally try to kill Donald Trump at a rally.
The biggest problem with Nigeria is the system. Soldier come, Soldier go, but every leader dey thief. It's not like Nigeria has exclusive rights to host all expatriate demons. But when you have such a broken system, what else can you expect?
This is an opportunity for a candidate who truly detests the system to start playing his/her hand. The example I gave of announcing a shadow cabinet is a play for organic votes because theoretically you can't use those posts to reward your hypemen post election.
The reason I mentioned Obi is because Obidients spent so much of last year claiming he fit the required profile. How is it that on the cusp of a nationwide protest, his opportunity to sell his message to the millions of frustrated Nigerians, his own spokesman is literally quiting the party and announcing his lack of confidence in PO, whilst simultaneously being denounced as a mole by the party ? To make matters worse, Obi doesn't even agree with his party either
Brah it's a shambles.
That's why I always say Nigeria is a finished country. There's literally no hope. Your suggestion would be perfect if there was actually just one voice from the people. How come we have been seeing Obi and Atiku tackle Tinubu since last year, but the moment this protest was conceived, both of them went mute. We have seen protesters protesting against the protesters; The same masses that are tired. Our situation is complex, and i agree with you that there is no hope. Luckily for all the presidential candidates, they are rich enough to flex till they die. The losers are all of us that queued under rain to vote. Make everybody just hustle and take care of their future. Baabu Hope. |

nihilistjnr: This is the time where Peter Obi would be organising rallies and building his support base of he was really serious
This is going to be another pointless round of protests, that may lead some unfortunate acts of looting and violence.
The protest is pointless because even if Nigeria wasnt setup to fail from it's inception - which it was, Nigeria is also fully the victim of state capture.
A protest for better governance- yes, but a protest to whom? When has a thief ever agreed to stop stealing your shït because you asked nicely? Or not nicely sef.
The best chance (and it's a very minute one) that Nigerians have of achieving some form of change to the status quote, is the possibleemergence of an anti-establishment figure capitalising on the frustration of Nigerians to build his/her forces for a credible run at next election.
I personally don't believe Obi is such a person, but if he's half the guy obedient claim he is, then I'd expect to see him at the very least making plays to hijack these elections to make very specific pitches to the people. Why not issue a very detailed manifesto? Maybe even go as far as announcing a shadow cabinet with ministers to shadow all current ministries now, using publicly available figures and policy documents to announce to the people how they would do things better instead of Obi's usual quoting of gas-based statistics.
The atmosphere is ripe for true opposition politics to be played if there are players willing to play the game.
Instead, we're likely going to see more cruise, more vibes, and the births of a few more twatter shitfluencers.
Mehn abandon all hope, all ye who enter this useless country. With the way there's tribal and religious colouration in every post, Obi, or any body wey put body for this protest go collect. You would expect the crowd protesting on Thursday to vote out APC in 2027, but no. When that time reach, na another music these same people go sing. Its better the protest just comes and goes, and hopefully, the people channel that anger into their thumbs during the next election |

They swiftly packaged some grammar under the guise of Repentant Boko Haram and released them back to the society without any plan to monitor their movement and what have you. What do we have later? The same rags going back to their dens to continue from where they stopped.
Then we have the bigger thief that have little to no regards for our courts now trying to enforce the same court order? From the onset, I said it that if the immediate needs of the common man are not addressed, a case like this will continue to prop up.

raumdeuter: So if police stops you for overspeeding, your excuse will be that he didnt stop others overspeeding in front of you Buhari actually made Kanu a hero. For someone who was spreading hate and instigating violence, you would expect his case to be swift and fast. But what did he do? He kept him in prison and adjournment became the mantra. Now, the villain is the hero. Tinubu has entered, and has continued from where Buhari stopped. I don't blame reccy for asking for his release. Very soon, history will be changed to make Kanu a man that fought for democracy. |
