But how much is remitted to the government coffers?

Let’s even forget people that pay way below what they should be paying…

I’ve seen some people that had to pay five years worth of tax to show proof for japa purposes…. Now imagine how many that didn’t japa not paying.

Do you believe all revenue collected from drivers goes to the state account?
You are making my point for me.

That data captures those who are documented.

But there are many people who pay tax to the government that are not documented.

A haulage bus pays 4000 every day in Alaba International to Local government boys. This is not captured in your data

Abi no be tax be that?

Ogun state is actually the most stupid state in Nigeria I've ever seen. Anytime I hear about that state na vex I dey.
Imagine the industries and factories in that state and it's proximity to Lagos. That state factories sef fit be times two of Lagos. I wonder what they do with their IGR for years.

Once you leave Lagos enter that state and e roads you go dey vex. Roads worse than bad state. You'll now be wondering whether some of the roads had ever been paved in its lifetime before.

E be like suffering and mediocrity no dey tire those indigenes. angry
The IGR they post online does not even reflect in the condition of that state.

That state suppose dey compete with development for Lagos.

There are more industries there than even Lagos (I might be wrong though)

Dayo, if you say we are poor, which I may agree with, then why are we running an expansive government that is expensive and riddled with high recurring costs?

To Izzou's example, if you say we are poor, why is a State Governor purchasing a car worth N300M? How many of such irresponsible purchases is Kogi incurring, especially when you consider the State barely generates anything? If 1 car that he may not return to the State after his tenure costs N300M, then what is the cost of all the cars he alone is using? We are poor but we are operating an expensive government across the 3 levels like we are the United States? Using insecurity as an excuse doesn't make it any reasonable.

Kogi State is poor and doesn't generate enough to keep it alive but somehow, Bello's wife is wanted by EFCC for the misappropriation of N3Billion belonging to the people of Kogi...What gives? Are we really poor or are our leaders corrupts and use expansive government as an avenue to steal from the people?
Lol.

We are poor truly. Until the budget is that of Texas, we may not be able to achieve much.

Even that 3 billion can only impact a community. It won't do much in a local government, talk more of a state.

It is even in Lagos that we have decent government hospitals. I am assuming 300 million can increase the supply of drugs to government owned hospitals by few months

It can't even build bore hole sef.

Before he can do any project for the people of Kogi he has to be alive, I don't know any human being who will not prioritize his own personal safety given the state of security in the country

Its not like these car companies make cars specially for Nigeria. By the time you buy a top grade SUV, Ship it to Nigeria and bulletproof it for obvious reasons you will be touching almost $400K

Do you think a governor will drive a non bulletbroof car in Nigeria? If you think so ask Ifeanyi Ubah why he is alive to see this day
So he was driving Toyota corolla for the past 5 years, and he suddenly remembered bullet proof in 2023?

It's not a white and black thing. FG is richer, stronger and more powerful than all 36 states put together. Evidence of this - Naira redesign.

I want APC out at FG level primarily because of low GDP growth recorded from 2015-2022 and Tinubu's mental deterioration.

I don't concern myself with State level politicking because as long as Nigeria states don't become richer, nothing significant will change. But you are free to wait for a Messiah Governor after Soludo to turn Anambra to Japan. Your choice.

So, which Governor is not "Mr All-talk-less-action"??

There is no Governor that can be rated above 2/10 in Nigeria and this is because states in Nigeria are not rich enough to take up major roles in driving significant economic development. All they do is just construct 5 km roads, repaint some hospitals and schools. Then, go on an aggressive PR drive to show that they are performing.

The Anambra that you want Soludo to turn to Japan has about 500 million dollars yearly budget, remove salaries, debt servicing, wetin remain?

Jokes on you if you think one Nigeria Governor is better than the other because of aggressive PR campaign.
Anambra has an insecurity problem

Soludo met it there and after 2 years it is worse.

Under his administration, a HOA member was killed and beheaded. Till now, no arrests, no conviction

Maybe we should not even be voting anymore since all of them make 1 million kobo a year as IGR

Nwanne,

I really wish these people will leave Igbo people alone and just focus on campaigning to Lagosians. This is why I said this nonsense is intentional and people like Elliot did not invent this wheel. I look at the pic posted by @liveLongandProsper and I wonder, isn't this the same spare parts market that was politically weaponized in the lead up to the presidential elections?

Lagos is littered with tribes from across the country, please go and campaign to eligible voters, stop using Igbo people as narratives because when it goes South, Igbo people will still suffer the brunt of it. I don't know if you have been following my comments recently but I am sick and tired of this nonsense. I am expecting my Yoruba brothers and sister to call this nonsense out but everyone is staying mute and pretending like they can't see the nonsense going on.

Please go out and campaign to Lagosians.
Apart from the fact that i like Sanwo-Olu, i really want him to win for the sake of peace.

The kind of bile spreading about in the name of Yoruba/Igbo is something else.

For me, 25th was a different ball game. Obi was the mandate, and all the NASS and Senatorial candidates rode on that wave.

Normally 2yrs is long in politics but soludo has a big mouth and it will cost APGA this weekend seats in the HOA.
That should have a ripple effect on him.
LP already has their own governorship candidate in Anambra who is quite known and would not jeopardise that for a man who doesn't have the backing of his people.

And one last thing, soludo's mouth will keep putting him in trouble
