Maybe, maybe not. I've seen educated parents blaming ASUU for a strike which is actually being observed by the lecturers to make government fund tertiary education more ; and I've also seen government officials like Adamu Adamu, Ngige etc spin the narrative several times.

I believe if the member of the public are on the same page with ASUU, just maybe the members of the public who can't afford sending their wards abroad will join ASUU in the struggle and reason with the lecturers.

[color=royalblue]I don't ever think ASUU demands are discreet. Yes, they are not printing fliers, but i think it is always bare for whoever wants to know

I doubt if Ngige, Tinubu, Atiku, Obi, Buhari's kids are in any school here. So imagine if you go on strike when they are in power. Why should they lose their sleep, when it does not personally affect them?

At least, our doctors began to have sense and decided to Japa. No need for any unnecessary strike. Move to a country that you'll be appreciated.

A friend on FB who resides in the UK posted the below leaflets which he was handed this morning at the premises of University of Manchester this morning.

So the union of lecturers are planning to embark on a strike and they are not only making their demands known, but also educating the members of the public on critical issues like why the strike?, what are their demands?, How reasonable are their demands? and how will the students stand to benefit from the strike?

If our own academics here in Naija follow this approach, maybe, just maybe the general public will side with the union and hold the government to account.
