donstan18: An average Nigerian is tribalistic and will always pick his/her people first.
But let’s keep acting different online. The issue is not even that she's qualified for it. We fit begin talk about tribalism then The woman does not live here. We don't even know what experience she has on tourism or governance in general. We don't know he field of study sef. But we should make her a commissioner in Anambra state because she's a non indigene and she loves our culture. Like seriously? |

DissTroy: You are more dimwitted than a rusty doornail. Everything I have stated, I have backed it up with verifiable references and full names which are public. I have referenced evidence of Igbos in Yorubaland and the South South getting appointments into executive cabinets with dates and periods, and examples of how the Igbos wouldn't do same to others.
You are a tribalist and xenophobe who is also covetous - you despise and don't think anyone who isn't Igbo by birth is fit to hold any official representative position in Igboland but directly or indirectly support Igbos holding key positions in non-Igbo lands.
Like I stated, we are watching. We are giving the Igbos the same treatment they met out to others. Wike is doing it in Rivers State and his Akwa Ibom State counterpart isn't relenting.
In fact, to up the ante, anybody seeking elective (especially executive positions) in Akwa Ibom who is married to an Igbo wife is automatically cancelled. 2019 began that. Let it go round. Even in tertiary institutions in the South South, the norm of Igbos seeking the top positions in SUGs have been put to an end in recent years.
Continue the campaign of hatred and ignominy. We are watching and would treat you the same way. You have backed your trash with more trash. You know why? You are naturally stupid. Probably born that way In your long post of incoherent trash, you mentioned governors appointing non indigenes as SSAs....you never mentioned one as a commissioner. SSAs that governors dash to friends and loyalists. The discourse was appointing a non experienced person as a Commissioner. A commissioner is not just to be a representative. There's a lot of work to be done. When a particular sector of a state is failing, it's probably because the commissioner in charge is sleeping. Lagos is a clear example. Look at sectors like transport and health that is thriving, and you'll see the commissioner isn't sleeping. But Dissfull wants us to appoint a woman who doesn't live here to be out commissioner. Not SSA oh... Commissioner. I don't even want to go to how you have unnecessarily dragged my tribe into something you didn't understand from the beginning. I have passed the level of reasoning with very stupid people. If you don't understand what is being said, just keep quiet. You will definitely be regarded as wise Dindirin |

DissTroy: You tribalistic prick! You're Igbo, right, Izzou?
How come you don't raise sentiments such as this when governors in the South West (Yorubas) and South South (particularly Akwa Ibom and Rivers State) appoint Igbos who are non-indigenes and not even married to indigenes as Special Assistants?
In Ogun State, as far back as 2002 under Gbenga Daniel, Igbos were being appointed as SAs and SSAs, and nobody had issues. The story is the same in Lagos State, and the most recent popular case being Joe Igbokwe who is wholly Igbo.
In Akwa Ibom State, under Godswill Akpabio (2007 to 2015) (who is married to an Igbo woman, Uloma Akpabio), SSAs and SAs who were Igbos were appointed and even Igbos drafted into our civil service. We were okay with it as they had lived in the state for donkey years and even speak the language, even though they married Igbos too and had Igbo names.
Tribalistic folks like you who chestbeat on the internet is why we kicked all of them out of these positions and got them removed from the civil service because Igbo States refuse to reciprocate the gestures and goodwill.
Arc. Victor Attah (1999 - 2007) who was Akwa Ibom State governor and Obasanjo's friend until the sharing formula for oil states fallout, was married to a white woman who couldn't even speak the language and wasn't one-tenth as immersed in the culture like the said Nwanyiocha is but was never treated less than the wife of the governor and was given the full powers as women leader of Akwa Ibom State.
A non-Igbo even aspiring to be course representative in any university in Igboland would have his or her life threatened, and worse if you aspire for a key position in any of the SUGs.
Continue breaking bridges instead of mending the ones your forebears broke with other tribes in Nigeria.
You should ask yourself why an Ibibio man (the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria) or Ijaw man (of the fifth largest) is always three times as likely to be fingeréd to rule this country or benefit from the socio-politico-economics than the Igbo who's amongst the three largest ethnic group.
You should ask yourself why every president is likely to take other tribes as key allies (including Jonathan and Buhari) but somehow skips over the Igbos.
You should ask yourself why Asari Dokubo or Boy Loaf who have committed more atrocities than Nnamdi Kanu would ever think of are walking free why the later is in chains.
Continue fanning the embers of hatred and discrimination then cry foul when others treat you the same way. We would keep watching. I noticed you bro. I really did I also liked and shared your post. Very insightful. |

donjazet: That's egregious, it's not just because she's white. It's because I see her devotion to a whole different culture. It's rare to see someone from another continent go to another whole continent and ingratiate themselves totally to that new culture.
It's not impossible to think of a Yoruba woman who adapts to an igbo culture or an Hausa culture because that person has already been exposed to bits and pieces of the culture since birth by virtue of proximity. The cultures share certain similar attributes, traditional monarchy, relatively similar diets, similar cultural fashion. Some of this brought together by the fact that both share similar environment, same whether, same vegetation, same climate etc. Very much unlike the different factors someone else from another continent faces.
So it's a much bigger deal for nwanyi ocha to have adapted so well than those from the same geo location or continent. This is not even a reason to make her a commissioner. So we should make her a commissioner of Tourism because she's devoted to our culture? Can she even mention tourist sites in the state? Has she been there? Does she even live in Nigeria? How does she intend to generate revenue for the state through tourism? I can go on and on and you'll see that she's not qualified to be a commissioner. Leave emotions aside, Nwaanyiocha is doing well for us. But it's ridiculous to appoint her to head any administrative part of our government. Very ridiculous |

donjazet: Personally, I might argue she merits it. We are talking of tourism and cultural affairs here. What better way than to put someone who has shown a deep love, acceptance and advertisement of the said culture than her. She is already doing it, she is qualified. But I understand the negative optics. I understand that giving the post to a foreigner when there is barely any other cabinet member from another tribe just looks absurd. Still doesn't take away from her qualification for the job. She has shown deep love, acceptance and advertisement of our culture more than hundreds of thousands of the ladies in Anambra? Na joke be this, abi you serious? You just feel this way because she's white. You may not advocate for this if it was a Yoruba or Hausa lady married to an Igbo guy. She can be recognized by the government, but appointing her over the affairs of our state is just ridiculous. Nothing makes her more qualified than Chinyere that was born and bred in Fegge, or Adaora that grew up in Ozubulu. |

donjazet: But as a Nigerian by marriage, it qualifies her for the job. I think she's also done a good job of promoting the culture. It's why I wanted to see ibime's view on the issue as he's literally experiencing this. I just hope my question wasn't interpreted to be ill-mannered or bad intentioned. Brother, we are talking about an important position that appointments should be made on merit and achievements. The reason you're being empathetic is because she's white. I don't think a white administration would appoint a Black woman married to a white man to take such a role because she promotes their culture. She can take any other thing, but not a commissioner abeg |

I really feel so sad about your predicament. This is painful
I always carry out any transaction involving large sums in a banking hall. If you had insisted on going to the bank, he would have either sold the car, or declined.
Also, nobody pays for a car without seeing the original documents. If he didn't bring the original, how would you have claimed ownership?
Lastly, always take someone along when dealing with strangers. It could be your friend, girlfriend, colleague, mechanic, wife.... anybody. There could be signs that you may ignore, but it could trigger the instincts of your partner.
I pray he is apprehended and killed. |

donjazet: I didn't know they brought this topic to nairaland yesterday. It was a bitter war on Twitter.
https://www.nairaland.com/6952662/should-swiss-woman-nwanyiocha-made Ibime, I am genuinely curious to hear your opinion on this. I recognize that you are literally living through this and would like to know how you see this. You married a fine British woman who is now Nigerian by marriage and have beautiful bi-racial children.
If a lot of people knew that your British wife is quite enthusiastic about your ijaw culture and that she actively promotes your culture to everyone, would it be a wonderful opportunity to be employed by the state government as a commissioner? Quite important Keeping in mind the tribal tensions that already exist between different tribes in the same country. We rarely see people from different tribes in state cabinets because of this. What do you make of the optics? Is it okay by you? A commissioner is a very important post in a state government. Why should someone be appointed because she's enthusiastic about our culture? Tomorrow, when that sector suffers, the same people clamouring for her appointment won't waste time to drag the government. We can encourage her with someone less demanding, but not with the post of a commissioner |

BlueMann: No but it is perhaps a popular notion that Trent's weakness is his defending; he's been often times referred to as the weak link in the 'pool defence. Stats alone may not do justice in this argument, I think someone brought out his defensive stats in comparison to James and he seemed to have the upper hand, but that doesn't mean he's a better defender than James.
Offensively, he's a genius tho. When they say he's a liability, they are trying to say he is bad defensively, which is very untrue. And that's why I quoted him. Trent is good defensively. He may not be the best in the league though, but he's one of the best RBs in the league defensively. If he has the upper hand than James defensively, then he is better than James defensively. No need to redefine it. Trent is not a defensive liability |
