Ball clearly ricochets of Lovren onto Silva's arm. That is not a handball by the rules.

Then in the same passage of play, the ball is played onto Arnold's outstretched arm. here is what the rules have to say about that:

"If the ball hits a player who has made their body "unnaturally bigger" then a foul will be awarded."

by having his hand outstretched, he certainly made his body bigger. the ref has defended this by saying he didn't think it was intentional, but the intention is not the appropriate test. unnatural positioning is, and going by that, that was a clear penalty.

2. I didn' t see the second one but by narration, it should have been a penalty.

Should a referee use his or her discretion in penalising infractions in a match or follow the letters of the law as prescribed by the governing body?

as a Chelsea fan, I supported Liverpool to win but the ref and VAR officials were shit. You have to be consistent with decision making like it is done in other league and according to the rules. It could happen to anybody. It happened to us against Watford. Even though we won, I was angry with the ref

this is not about var rules. Hand ball rules, offside rules, goal kick rules and drop kick rules are set and were changed by FIFA before the beginning of this season . It was clear that Arnold hands left his body and made his body bigger

As for me, I saw 3 penalty cases in that match. 2 were hand balls while the other was the pushing of sterling within the 18 yard box near the corner line

A penalty is a penalty. If it means giving 5 penalties a game then they should change the rules not refuse to apply them. That was a penalty to me, and I believe it would have been called as such in many other games.

I don't know about conspiracy theories though.
