I had my visa approved today at the Lagos Consulate. Time was 6:30m.

V- where are u going in the US?
M- University of xyz123 in California, for a mgt conference

V- What do u do?
M- I'm the Personal Assistant to the D.... of xyz University

V- *typing furiously* are u married?
M - Yes; with 2 boys

V- Why do u want to spend 14days, most conferences are less than that?
M- Yes i'm aware my conference is for 3days but i'd love to see America cos i've neva been there...
V- *cuts in* it's ok, i'm just asking

M- i'd visit Golden gate bridge, Disney land park, so i can take my kids on my next trip.

LOS: August 2nd
ABV: August 3rd
You will also have to fill out a new form to reflect current situation especially if your travel date and other parts of the previous form are affected by the available appointment dates.

Mum got her visa this morning without any input from an agent. Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread.

Her interview was for 8:30am @ the Lagos Consulate and it went thus:

VO: Good morning
Mum: Morning o

VO:**speaks somethings 2 her**
Mum: i no 'hear' English

VO calls for an interpreter, an elderly lady comes in

Lady:Where are u going ma?
Mum:California

Lady:what for?
Mum: Summer, my daughter's husband sent 4 me.

Lady: who's paying?
Mum: My son-in-law

VO smiles and passes white paper 2 her and dat was it.

Mum: Can i have my passport back?
VO and interpreter both laughs and interpreter explains to her dat d visa would be issued on d passport.

BUT while i was filing her DS160, i couldn't upload her passport photograph, so i told her to go with it.

She put a copy in her passport but it was returned to her.

Can her visa be issued without her passport photograph? She's worried now.

Observations -

*bodies vary from one woman to the other, a lady was brought in on tuesday afternoon, she was in active labour and 4cm dilated, she was not shouting, jst silent groans, she requested to go ease herself and after a while, matron said she must come out else she would poop her baby in the WC.

She was taken to be checked in the delivery room and next thing we all heard was baby's cry. All her stay was less than 2hours.

**2nd case scenario, a lady directly opposite me, her labour progressed and at the peak of her pains, against the midwife's advice, she pushed out her baby and tore her cervix, almost 5hrs after, she was still in the delivery room, screaming agonisingly.

I was checked intermittently and was told i'm making progress. Lo and behold, by monday morning, i was still 6cm when they all said i should have put to bed. Then the real show started.

Due to my prior CS, i wasn't augmented but was left to progress naturally. Now they strapped a fetal heart monitor to my tummy, inserted a drip and gave some pints of oxytocin abi pitocin, i wasn't listening cos the pain was maddening. This was on monday 11th April around 8am.

By 1pm, i was at 7cm and they all got worried and started advising i go the CS route. The contractions were strong and the urge to push was irresistible.
Against the matron's advice, i started pushing...

By 2pm, i was losing my mind, i made the call for CS, i was prepared for theatre, and emergency C section was done, baby was already in distress. Was given a spinal anaesthesia and saw the whole process. My son was brought out, i heard him cry and my hrt melted.

Saturday 9th April, during the night, strong contractions started and i endured all through the night, no sleep of course till sunday. Could not attend sunday service, my parent came over after service and saw me in pains, mum convinced me to go get checked and we headed for the hospital at 2pm.

Was examined by the matron and she said i was just "tip of the finger", she directed me to the doctor again and i was told i was 2cm and can go home to return by 7pm.

Mum said we shd take a long walk and i obliged, did a 20mins trek back home, ate eba + okra soup. Dad rushed to a fast food and bought me jollof rice + goat meat. I devoured all.

Mum said, "now you have enough strength for the task ahead". I smiled. Fast forward to 6:30pm, we told dad to come with baby bag and drive ahead while we walked down, i had 5 strong contractions on the way before getting to the hospital.

We got in, and the dreaded VE was done, i was advised to relax and it didn't hurt me at all, was told i'm 4cm and given a bed...

EDD was Monday, April 4th and i've been on mat leave since Mon, March 28th. I was highly expectant and kept packing and re packing my hospital bag. Still nothing

Wednesday, April 6th, 9:20am while doing the dishes, a thick white mucus came off, i rushed to show dh and we were super excited as it signifies the beginning of the end.

From white mucus, it graduated to bloody catarrh - like ones and i kept looking forward to meeting my prince.
Contractions started mildly and i didn't go to the hospital to get checked, i kept bearing it like a chic

Saturday, April 9th,i went to the hospital but fled cos of my fear of VE (vaginal examination)...

People of God, the journey has started o!
White mucus plug came off on Wednesday @ 9:20am. Afterwards, contractions started off and on...
Friday and today, blood stained mucus dropped off again, told mum and she said i should head to d hsp 2 inform them.

I got to the hospital and doc said I'm not in labour yet else, i won't be wearing make up, earrings, wristwatch + talking freely.

While he was saying that, he saw the contraction and said i shd go and return when the contractions are painful and more close, he then said he wld check me, na there i say NO way!

Told him i'd like to leave and return when i'm in real labour. I cannot come and allow him to chook his long fingas in my totorose
