Blakpot: A pity. R.I.P. Nigerians have suffered xenophobic attacks in both countries. Ghana's hatred towards Nigerian's is like that of a jealous sibling. As for SA I don't know the source of their frustration. Their mob mentality against other Africans is frightening. - human trafficking - printing counterfeit notes - drugs - forging fake passports - prostitution rings - destroying South African infrastructure with littering garbage everywhere - overstaying their visitation in SA - running bogus abortion clinics - internet scams - credit card fraud - illegal invasion of city properties - fake pastors I think I can go on 'til sundown. You asked what is the source?? Pssst. |

APCNig: But Ghanaians know how to deal brutally with peaceful Nigerians nah, let the same Ghanaians deal mercilessly with the South Africans also.
You useless South Africans, in no distance time, you will be wipe out African map, just watch it, other Africans will unite against you, invade your useless country and wipe you off the map. Don't waste your energy on something you might not even finish.Put this energy on releasing your countries from fierce grip of your dictators so that you can have the freedom South Africans have. |

Looked for this story from popular South African news outlets and it is nowhere to be found.Me thinks this is just an attempt to drive attention away from the hot topic, which is the poor officiating by the corrupt Senagal referee. This attempt at damage control by reporting false info is not going to work.We might not get the replay but some people's careers are going down the drain after this.

Torture2020: Ghana does not depend on sa or any country to feed its citizens. I'm sure you know that, huh? Your backward, corruption riddled country messed with the wrong one this time. Some people are going to be jobless after this... keep your corrupt ways in West Africa. When Suarez did you dirty in 2010 you were crying like dying dogs and now you're trying to regain your lost glory through fixing matches? Try another country, not SA. |

TMKsouth: Lol, i also thought alcohol would be some kind of trigger. The fact it only occured in 2 provinces also needs thorough analysis. It could have turned out worse than it did because people in other provinces tried to riot but were stopped by taxi drivers and members of the community. |

TMKsouth: I was distressed by the main reasons for Nigerians getting deported from other countries as the OP put it:
"On different charges drugs? cyber crime? visa? prostitution?"
And often when we engage them they pretend these things don't happen and that everyone is simply jealous of them. When they think we're not watching they have the courage to look in the mirror and acknowledge that they are the architects of their own battered reputation. |

The weird thing about this riots is that I had a feeling that something like this was gonna happen in South Africa this year. The continuous lockdowns, banning of alcohol (the soul provider of our people lol).It was only a matter of time before people could find something to take out their frustrations on,now look what it cost. This was bigger than Zuma because I know for sure most of the people that participated in this don't even give a damn about him.
...it was only a matter of time. |

TMKsouth: Looks like it.
I must admit I've never watched a local cricket match - only internationals. I know more local rugby teams than cricket. Just at the top of my head - do we have a team called Titans? That's as far as I can go unfortunately I enjoy internationals too but the Msanzi Super League is proving to be the thing so far.Titans sounds familiar. |

TMKsouth: Looks like everyone else has accepted and submitted to corruption in African football. SA must make as much noise as possible. These teams come and play in SA glitch-free, but the goodwill is not reciprocated when we visit them. I have seen even some Ghanaians and Nigerians calling the ref's BS officiating. Ba re tlwaela masepa, and we always give them best football grounds in Africa and they still do this to us. |

There wouldn't be a need for all of these if VAR was used...and that ref messed with the wrong country. |

Not all that glitters is gold May not all be gold but still draws immigrants closer like a moth to a flame. The fact is South Africa still remains the BEST country in Africa regardless of the hurdles that come with it...FACTS. |
