You are always quick to say rubbish about you country, the write-up is childish and stupid.stop talking shit about your country.

see this robot saying something about “my country” - you must be ignorant if you think this place we call a country is not a piece of poker table being played by our politicians.

I’m actually bored so you got two replies, don’t direct your next bark at me, direct it to yourself and ur contemporaries who have been old enough to witness the rot in this system for the past two decades but aren’t brave enough to question the system.

Yet brave to play down the dreams of youngsters who choose to aim different, live different by instilling limiting beliefs in them by saying “ you are young, you are a kid, you are not experienced” ——- ces la vie old woman

how old are you too? only in nigeria do people justify their thoughts and actions with their age. you could be older than that guy but

Government migration laws have not covered freelancing in most countries. An exception is Germany where freelancing is a recognized profession and freelancers pay a specially created tax to the German government. Requirements are to ensure you can take care of yourself for the period you will be there and that you have non-immigrant intent.

Your best bet may be to register a business name and travel as a CEO. But then, you will need to produce a tax certificate. Alternatively, look for a friend who is willing to give you the accompanying letter as an employee of his or her firm. The 2nd option goes against my personal principles, so you may have to go with the 1st option.

i have a company registered in my name but have never paid taxes before, can i just pay it once in order to have the certificate? thank you

Travel / Going To Greece By March by jackyraw09: 4:59pm On Feb 18, 2019
Good morning my NL Fam and wishing you guys a wonderful sunday ahead. I've always contemplated the idea of becoming a digital nomad (so that i can work remotely) and it seems the time is now.

I picked up my Passport last month and now i've decided to start by going to relax and work in greece for a whole month (march -> april) - According to my intended local guide, the country is very cold at the moment but the weather will be more friendly by march so yeah, lets wait.

I proceeded to the embassy website, read through the requirements of obtaining a tourist VISA. I just need to keep this thread as a journal while i go through the process.

I could see the requirements differ depending of whether you are a nigerian national or you are an expatriate who is just applying via greek embassy in nigeria.

for the sake of brevity, i will only outline the requirements pertaining to the nigerian nationals:

1. Original certificate of employment of the last three years and employment letter stating the days of leave. -- This is a tough one i work online as a freelancer coder and also manage a plantation/farm so basically i have no employer

2. Salary slips of the last three years -- No one pays me salaries. for the online job, i get paid via paypal, for the farm, well there is no fixed salary structure for me atleast.

3. Bank statement and balance of account over last three years - Certified at least from one Official and from the Head of the Bank (name, surname, rank, signature and bank’s seal). -- Are these people for real shocked This is not a problem but i can only imagine how big the heap of documents will be

4. Hotel reservation – letter (in Greek) by faxing from the hotel with the evidence of the Guest (name, surname, and the number of the passport) for the whole duration of the intended stay, and the price of booking – Certified from the Manager of the hotel (name, surname, signature and the hotel’s seal). -- Pretty straightforward but i have a question - since i will be spending a month and don't intend staying in a single city throughout my stay, can i just submit a reservation covering my first 1 week? I also read that the hotels cancel the reservation if you do not pay within 24hrs. Is this true?

5. Copy of flight ticket or flight reservation including return flight. smiley

6. Travel insurance – Certified at least from one official and from the Head of the insurance company (name, surname, rank, signature and Company’s seal) -- where can i get this please?

thank you for going through the stress of reading this. I will appreciate if experience tourists can make make the clarifications (100s of them on this forum)

lol. You know nothing about gambling. When i lost my first 30k i tot i would never gamble again. Now i have lost over 5million. I have a thread here on nairaland where i talked about gambling. I had lost 2million at that point and yet today i have exceeded 5million. Breaking free from gambling is not by being willed, you have to create structures to keep your finances away from your direct control

Hmm, great topic and while I have been depressed in the past. Staying off social media helped to get rid of depression. Hopefully that tip helps someone. The newest problem I am facing is overspending for people who wouldn’t return same favor if the tables turn.

Don’t get me wrong, I am good at cutting people off the moment I notice u r taking me for a fool but atleast I want to learn how to “slow down” - I shouldn’t always be the one to foot the bills nah abi bawo

hypocrites. they won't burn 1k naira but will stake 100k on a bet 9ja game, carry olosho with 20k, spend thousands on drugs and alcohol
and when called out will answer "is it your money?" - while i don't approve of wasting money in any form, i still believe how we choose to "spend"
or "waste" our money is a choice to be made by us.

you owe no one this much explanation, orezi my man.

Health / Re: I Need Help On How To Quit Marijuana Dependency. by jackyraw09: 1:06pm On Dec 29, 2018
This topic interests me a lot, I believe as human we should have our limits and always reflect on our growth from time to time.

Iv had moments where smoking helped to decipher situations that seemed complex while I’ve had moments where smoking made me over-think simple situations.

All in all, best way forward i think is to cycle on and off weed. Quitting it cold turkey might stunt your growth in life. Weed helps and it kills too.

Exercising on a daily basis is the surest way to take weed smoking off your todo list smiley

Y’all just whip up trash to make front page. Thank God i was live at wizkids show yesterday and saw wiz go bring skales from the backstage, the later performed his hit single temper remix and they hugged. Wizkid probably had had gone to to eko convention center (a stone throw from where his own show took place - eko Atlantic) where olic5 took place with skales and now ur making it seem like they met at OLIC5.

I won’t be surprised if this OP is posting somewhere in abeokuta and is making their judgements based on IG posts of these celebs.

Nairaland / General / Re: What Are Your Regrets For This Year? by jackyraw09: 6:36pm On Dec 23, 2018
My regret would have been not making as much money as I hoped and not being so discliplined.

But towards the end, I switched goals and stopped letting my happiness in life depend on outcomes of my hustle/actions and just living life As it comes.

The goal should be to put in your best in everything hustle, relationships, religion etc but not letting the outcomes affect you, it’s written already.

At the end, all that matters is dreaming really big but don’t let situations you have no control over affect your sanity.

Cheers to a bigger and better 2019 my nairaland family

i see a lot of jewels in this topic. I face a lot last year because i was also shy, introverted and soft- thanks to my childhood but lessons learnt last year revealed the fact that no one gives a Bleep! not even your parents man (kidding, but real talk this issue of being timid is something you gotta face your self).

first step is to pay FULL Attention to your 1.)body and 2.) environment at ALL times.

i placed body first because you have to love yourself because no one in this world can do that for you. spoil yourself, respect yourself, play with yourself, work on yourself. do things with yourself. be hard working for your self, build your reputation, let the things that will move you forward get done on daily basis. its an ongoing process. All these will make you know your worth because hey you have put in the work so you earned it yourself. then proceed to clap for your self smiley Why not start by hitting the gym?

Then understand that you only live once. Don;t be miserable for one minute. Feeling tired? get up and do some push ups RIGHT AWAY!! or get a warm shower. Or go on youtube and watch a couple self help videos(leo from actualized.org, another person suggested one up there).

Feeling bored? Go out there and talk to someone, take a stroll and check out whatsup in your neighbourhood. GO to the beach and see the serene view. Call up your girlfriend (if you don't have one, please do get. you need to have atleast someone you can share stuff with, its not about sex but good sex will get you undiluted loyalty.)

i got work to do, its a monday morning, but i will keep tab on this thread. its really interesting and millions of youths are dying in silence from these so called manipulative villains we call friends.

i was even very generous.....go to any Benz US dealership, ask how much it will cost monthly to get that same car off their lot....you will be amazed!

oh. i see you assumed he's paying for this car over a certain period of time. what if he paid in full? remember the person in question is a billionaire smiley
Business / Re: Tonye Cole Buys His Wife, Sylvia Cole, A Benz For Their 23rd Wedding Anniversary by jackyraw09: 1:19pm On Jul 20, 2018
MrBrownJay1:

what you should have understood here is that such car cost $1.5K tear rubber in the US, therefore being with his wife for 23years, he could have bought a more significant gift... unless, of course, if this "supposed" billionaire living in the US for the last 23yrs couldnt afford to buy his wife a Benz (aka car that even a waitress/Mc Ds supervisor can drive) all this time.

if people want to flaunt such BS on social media, then fair enough, but then let it all make some sense. having this man driving the car that is supposed to be a gift to his wife makes NO SENSE to me.... let him take a picture of HER driving the car, if he wants to flaunt it on social media. its all about her, right? or is it really?

gentlemanliness to drive your wife's car that you supposedly just bought for HER?! really?!? we must be from different world.

and you are fully entitled to your opinion

the price of a mercedes benz GLE falls in the range of 45-80k USD depending on the number of cylinders, whether its turbocharged or not, the mod etc.

where you got your 1.5$ k price tag from is where i don't know

wait o...let me understand this right.... this man is a Nigerian billionaire living in the US, has been with his wife for 23yrs, and a $1.5K (monthly) car gift is what he is making noise about?!?!!?!? how many car notes must he have gotten her in the past to suddenly make that one any special?! am i missing something?!

as for the pic of "him" driving that new gift of hers....hhmm ok!

you made no sense. and nowhere was it stated that he only made downpayment, he could have paid in full.

Also i see no biggie in him driving his wife in her car on their anniversary - its an act of gentlemanliness(?).

summary of my rant: you made no sense
