THE CLAIMS:

Claim 1. That Nigeria had 54.4 million people in full time job as at May 29, 2015.

Fact Check: In a bid to verify the claim, The FactCheckhub checked the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) website for the data on Nigeria’s labour statistics as at May 29, 2015.

May 29 falls on the 2nd quarter (Q2), The FactCheckHub could not find the 2015 NBS report, however data for the country’s labour force for the 2015 was included in the Q1 –Q3 2017 unemployment report.

In the report, it was stated that approximately 55.7 million people were fully employed in the 2015-Q1, 54.4 million people in 2015- Q2, 55.2 million people in 2015-Q3 and 54.5 million in 2015-Q4.

The data shows that 54.4 million people were employed as at May 29, 2015 which makes the claim TRUE.

The data shows that 54.4 million people were employed as at May 29, 2015 which makes the claim TRUE.

Claim 2. That Nigeria currently (August 2020) has 35.6 million people working full time.

Fact Check: The FactCheckHub checked the NBS website for the 2020 data on Nigeria’s labour force. From the data for the 2020-Q2, it was stated that approximately 35.6 million people are fully employed out of the 80.3 million labour force population. This also makes the claim that only 35.6 million Nigerians are fully employed as at 2020 TRUE.

Claim 3: That 18.8 million full time jobs was lost within 5 five years under President Buhari’s administration.

Fact Check:
President Buhari was sworn-in on May 29, 2015, which implies that he has spent over five years as Nigeria’s president.

To ascertain if 18.8 million jobs were lost as alluded in the tweet, The FactCheckHub compared the number of Nigerians fully employed as at May 29, 2015 to the current number of Nigerians that are fully employed as at June 2020. The use of June was selected because the NBS report is presented quarterly. The data for August will be in the the 2020 Q3 report which ends in September.

The difference between the number of people who were fully employed as May 2015 – 54.4 million and as at June 2020 – 35.6 million is 18.8 million.

PoliticsOpen Letter To Buhari: Required Actions To Cushion Effect Of Global Pandemic by jaelz(op): 12:43pm On Apr 27, 2020
Due to the Covid19 pandemic and it's ravaging spread like wildfire across the country, the various governments at state and federal level have taken proactive measures to actually put an end to the devastating effect should in-case the figures soars in a geometric progression while recovery and health cure stands at an arithmetic growth rate.

Nigerians over the following past months have resulted to disobeying the lock-down rules and orders, protests against the lock-down and massive looting and robberies across the country, should Nigeria provide incentives and palliatives to aid the suffering of the people, YES, can the afford it, NO, WHY, because as a country with a single sole source of revenue coming majorly from Oil Exploration and Exportation can't currently afford such due to the decline in the prices of oil at the global oil prices falling into the negative, a fall that saw even the unique Brent crude crashing the resulting effect means slashes in income for oil producing dependent revenue generation companies like Nigeria.

In my open letter to the president, I suggest he does the following to see the following positive effects on the general economy:

Distribution of facial masks and hand gloves to be produced and locally sourced thereby increasing earnings and creating a source of livelihood for the teaming populace

Upliftment of the total ban of movement from 24 hours in day and limit it to just 4 hours a day

Enact rules that enforce the mandatory use of the facial masks and hand gloves in public outings

Create a general rapid mobile court and sentencing unit for those found guilty of violating the Covid10 rules.

Create a special task force team that ensures the social distancing rules are strictly adhered to in public places, thereby creating more job opportunities for the teaming unemployed among the general populace

Distribution of free hand-sanitizers to be locally sourced and produced by the local populace

Make available washing and disinfection apparatus at public places in strategic locations like airports, ports and government houses.

Set up a special committee to look into the total overhaul and rehabilitation of the healthcare system and it's practices to meetup with international standards and guidelines by at-most 2022

Set up another special committee to look into the post economy recovery and diversification to house and accommodate extra sources of revenue generations for the country, agriculture, technology and logistics should be the core areas of research look into to further cushion the adverse effects of the lock-down.

Direct anti-corruption bodies and organizations to probe cases of fraud as regards the disbursement of funds meant to aid and relief the suffering of Nigerians during the global pandemic crisis and lock-down and stay home period.

We all know Calabar people are the Chinese of Africa and Nigeria as they consume almost everything on this planet earth like the Chinese people, the city where the current Corona Virus Pandemic ravaging the planet originated from.

Calabar people love dog meat to a fault but then snapping yourself killing and detailing in pictures as you killed and prepared your your own dog for peppersoup is a little bit out of the way, dog meat is a delicacy enjoyed by many around the globe and by the Plateau State Indigenes and Calabar Indigenes also around the country, others tribe consume the meat also but not as rampant as the tribes listed above.

The pictures which she posted online on the popular social media platform Twitter via her own personal page has generated alot of mixed feelings and reactions as many users were of the opinion that she went to a far with her actions stating of she were to be in a foreign country she would have been arrested.

However others were of the opinion that she is just an innocent lady preparing pepper soup as a meal to survive, on my opinion I think the outrage is due to the fact that it was a dog that she was using a dog as everyone knows a dog is always a man's best friend.
