I take full credit for this   grin grin. . ,  .mazaje is now gradually dumping his ignorance and shifting his goal post from full blown atheism. . . .to doubtful atheism/theism.
Good job, noetic. Clap for yaself!  grin

To convince an atheist that there might be a first cause, or a creator(s), or a grand designer(of some sort) of the universe and all that is in it, might be quite difficult but not unachievable. But to convince the same atheist that that creator is the version that you subscribe to is a whole different ball game.

So, to demonstrate that, your next tasks are as follows;

1) Convince him that the creator is a "HE"
2) Convince him that the bible god is the creator
3) Convince him that the creator's name is yahweh or jehovah
4) Convince him that the bible is the creator's word.
5) Convince him that jesus is both the creator's only begotten son, as well as him at the same time. In other words, make him believe that christianity is the creator's preferred religion

I don't want to burden you with too much tasks (because there many more), but for now, try those 5 for size and see if you can accomplish them. Even you will agree that these 5 tasks will prove to be much much much more challenging. But have a go, anyway. Goodluck and cheers. grin

Its a prank. Soul cant be sould ignorantly
Depends on what is meant by "SOUL". The definitions are multiple and vary from person to person. If the mind is what is meant by soul, then it can be easily sold, because the mind was created by this world, so therefor, it can also be claimed or bought.Personally, i think that it is the "mindsoul" that is being bought here.

Nigerian pastors to come together for what when each of them have completely different beliefs?

LMAO!!! cheesy cheesy  Another comedy of religious existence. Who is the real christian? A very good question that no christian can objectively answer. With every christian and their cats and dogs claiming to be the only ONE who is real, that is a recipe for total chaos and disharmony.  33,000 denominations and counting, all believing that they are the REAL McCOY christians undecided. Absolute insanity.

The funniest thing of all is that they still want to drag new folks into this 2000 year old insane mess that they have created for themselves. That is like keeping the eyes open while letting flies in. Yoruba saying, "Igi gongo ma gun mi l'oju. . ."

I am loving these cartoons, though.

You would rather uphold pagan religions from abroad rather than the ones that were created on the african continent? Talk of mind enslavement. . .

Togetherness? Two camels will pass through the eye of a needle at the same time before that happens. Ego driven belief systems like christianity have no room for oneness, because the spirit of separateness dwells in them at all times. It is this spirit that drives the entire beings of church leaders, so hold not your breaths.

You must mean the christian and islamic god virus. Africans have always had a concept of God. But despite that, they have always been tolerant. But it takes the infection of the christian or the islamic god virus to make people both intolerant and bleeping fanatics.

sad sad sad This is very sad, indeed. Maybe i should seriously start considering living in Ghana, or some other more tolerant african country. I just can't live with intolerance of any kind, most especially religious. It makes me sick. Religious folks who are intolerant of others because difference in ideologies emanate such bad vibes to pollute the environment in which they exist. And when they are many in a community, such negative vibes can be overwhelming to sensitive people like myself. This is the main reason why i have never, and will never live in the northern parts of Nigeria. I can feel the negative vibes right up to where i am at right now(in europe), talkless of living in Nigeria.

Those are just elements that can be refined as africans grow and evovle spiritually. And those refinements do take place, albeit slowly. Some of the elderly guardians of african trado- cultural heritage and religions have long realized that these refinements are necessary in order to keep them alive in the modern times. They fully understand and aware of the "evolve or die" truth.

My guy, you did not read my post well. I know that nigeria has a religious society. I am not looking for a religion free town to live in. I am looking for tolerant nigerian towns where people keep their religiousity to themselves, instead of accosting people on the road or even in their homes and beating them in the head with their bibles or qurans. Are you trying to tell me that such tolerant towns are impossible to find in the whole of Nigeria? I refuse to believe that. Maybe i am asking in the wrong forum.

Pastor AIO:

http://www.matrifocus.com/LAM04/spotlight.htm

http://www.yahwehism.com/html/yahweh-samaria.html
Now this is interesting!

There were many Yah gods throughout the lands of Egypt, Canaan, and Assyria.  Yah is associated with the moon god in Egypt, with the heifer/cow gods of Jeroboam, and with goat gods.  One thing is certain, the real God of Israel was not Yah or Yahweh as we are led to believe.
Very interesting.

We conclude that the correct ancient name of God was Ehyeh Or Ehjeh and not Yahweh!

We now turn our attention to this Yahweh.  Was he the God of the Israelites or a Baal god brought in from somewhere else?  The postsherd above that has the Yahweh and his Asherah heifer/cow, is from Samaria circa the 8th century BC.  This was a time of extreme Baal worship in that region and the heifer/cow god (Asherah) set up, one in Dan and the other in Bethel (1Kings 12:28-33). This cow worship is associated with Isis and the sexual rituals of this religion include homosexuality and beastality.  For Yahweh to have his own heifer/cow and demonstrate his Baal identity as shown on the postsherd, tells us this is not the God of Israel.  The God of Isreal would not be imaged in the first place, this being forbidden, and certainly not drawn on potsherds with his thing dangling to show his prowess!  There are only two other beings here, another man and a female playing a musical instrument.  Neither of these are Yahweh's "Asherah."  This leaves the heifer/cow as Yahweh's consort.  Is it just coincident that down through the ages men have spoken of their wives as heifers and cows?

We must insist that EHYEH is the ancient name (of the invisible God) given to Moses and the false Baal god Yahweh (images and figures made of him) was adopted by the Israelits soon after coming over into Canaan land. This Baal worship has been a pain and a problem for the Jews from the time they entered into the land of promise. They were warned to to adopt these gods, their worship and rituals, and not to intermarry with these heathens. But the Old Testament reveals they went after Baal (Yahweh) and the sexual rituals associated therewith, with such enthuasim, the nation was finally morally destroyed and God evicted them to Babylon as punishment.
Most Interesting!

According to the articles in the two links above, their seems to be some alluding to this "ASHERAH" as the consort of yahweh. We're not even sure anymore that this yahweh is the true god of the ancient jews and here i am looking for his "wife". I give up on these abrahamic myths. undecided undecided

that i hear is the use of mary 'the mother of God' in the catholic church and the whole prayer through mary as the softer and more motherly form through which you can reach God instead of the all macho wrathful God.(borrowed from the pagan cults of isis, artemis and diana)       that is why while God is king, mary is revered as the queen of heaven                                                                                                                                                see,it wouldnt have changed anything
The veneration of Mary defintely was a later addition, and she had no strong presence in the doctrine itself. Mary was the mother of jesus and not the wife of yahweh. So Mary's influence is highly debatable. Besides, how many denominations worship Mary in the christiandom?

Religion / What If Yahweh Had Had A Wife? - The Suppression Of The Sacred Feminine by jagunlabi(m): 7:47am On Apr 18, 2010
If jehovah really had had a wife and a daughter who had a great influence on him, as well as featured strongly in the creation story and the scriptures as a whole, how would the face of the christiandom have looked like? Would the womenfolk have been less suppressed and more venerated? Would the christian religion have been more tolerant, love based, and less militant?

Would the inquisition of the dark era might have been avoided? Would christianity have been part of the european slave trade onslaught on black africans? What do you think the effect of the strong presence of the sacred feminine in these three desert dogmas would have been?

I personally think that the effect would have been much more balanced and deeply spiritual religions, as well as a much less wrathful yahweh. The concept of a place of eternal torture in the afterlife would have been non-existent(i know such a concept does not exist in judaism).

The suppression of the sacred feminine in the abrahamic religions had a very negative effects on them, in my own opinion. What are your views on this? I'd like to hear from the womenfolks most especially.

Are there any such cities or small towns in Nigeria where the indigenes are relatively tolerant to other people's religious beliefs or non-beliefs? Towns that are relatively free of religious fundermentalism and bigotry where more tolerant folks can coexist without the constant harrassments of religious bigots?

Please, if there are such communities in Nigeria, can you guys give some mentions in here. I am quite interested in such communities because i have no intention of living within religious bigot infested cities for the rest of my life when i get back home. I want a peaceful coexistent with everybody who will accept as a human being while i do the same thing to them. This is very important to me and to all tolerant and peaceful people.

Thanks.

What does one call people who think that they own heaven? EGOTISTICAL.

What does one call those who think that they own God? EGOSTISTICAL.

What does one call those who think that they are the only children of God on earth? EGOTISTICAL.

What does one call those who think that salvation is their birthright, but not the birthright of others like them until the others join their ways of thinking? EGOTISTICAL.

What is the cause of intolerance? THE EGO

What is the cause of prejudice? THE EGO

What is the cause of discrimination of all kinds? THE EGO

What is the cause of fanaticism of any kind? THE EGO

The EGO is the root of all evil.
Religion / Re: Inesqor On The Salvation Of The Non-christian by jagunlabi(m): 11:10am On Apr 17, 2010
InesQor:

@jagunlabi: Your post above makes no sense, I am sorry. You were the same one who labelled some worldviews as henotheistic, and then labelled Gabry a Christian. Now you return to say labels are not to be rendered. Your point has been pre-nulled by your same self.

Any objective reader who sees this thread knows that I am not showing any egoistic tendencies, but I have in fact done quite the opposite on this thread, enough to brand me a heretic. Deep Sight asked me what the Biblical views are on the (possible) salvation of non-Christians and I have quoted Jesus' teachings to explain them, which necessarily involves accepting his person (Deity) and his purpose (the sacrifice); except in cases of innocence and/or ignorance in which case God will take a fair judgment of the heart. If you have a problem with that, take it up with Christianity. Please get off my back.

Well, inesqor, when you are conversing with egos, you get infected by egoism, and that is the reason why i use labels in this thread as well as other threads, so bear with me. To be out of the ego, i have to avoid interracting with folks totally embedded in it, lfolks like you, for instance. But, unfortunately, in forums like this, that cannot be achieved.

Labelling is the language of the egoic minds and one slips into it again and again. Creating and wallowing in the illusory "US vs THEM" paradigm is the game of the EGO. But the difference is that some people can actually rid themselves of the ego when doing real life interractions with their fellow human beings and i will be correct to say that most christians can't manage that because they are mindcontrolled by the EGO strongly sustained by the dogma of their faith. You can never see your fellow human being as he/she truly is, inesqor, except as a label, THE OTHER, THE UNBELIEVER. Labels will always come first when you interract with people who are not of your religious beliefs, no matter what.

And that is the real big point here, is it not? I don't care of which faith a person is, or which colour, or which tribe, and so on. I always accept people the way they are instead of looking to turn them into myself through the imposition of my ideologies. To be out of control of the ego is to see through all the labels the ego has created in our minds, to get out of prejudicial mental boxes and see the much bigger picture. How many christians can accept other folks for who and what they are, instead of trying to impose themselves on them? Precious few and it seems like Gabry is one of those few.

Now you said that any objective reader who is following this thread will see that you are not showing egoistic tendencies in your views. How wrong you are, especially when you are making your views from a rigid ideological standpoint which is very very christian in nature.

Your biggest egoic statement in this thread is that which you stated that non- christians will only make heaven in place of christians who did not make it! You also stated that all christians have already automatically booked their tickets to heaven, except those who lose their "reserved spots" through they losing their faiths or whatever. That only then would non- christians have a chance of getting into heaven as substitutes or place fillers of some sort. Now how egotistical is that for statements? It doesn't get more egotistical than that, inesqor. In fact you posts so far has been overflowing with so much ego that they got me shaking my head in disgust.

Now, i can understand that you are definitely not always aware of the ego working in you because that is always the case when one is possessed and controlled by the ego. YOU WON'T KNOW. That is the reason for your denial. But i can see it, i can feel it, and any objective reader following this thread would have spotted it instantly after reading just a few lines of your very first contribution. As long as you keep debating from the christian pov, you  are seeking specialness and can only mean that you are in the grip of the ego, and anything you utter will always come from the ego, always.

InesQor:

@jagunlabi: Thanks for your post, but I must say you are really entitled to your opinions. Only time will tell who was right.

And for the record, Gabry is as much Christian as she is Pagan, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Catholic and she even found some resonance with Satanism; all in a frenzied smorgasbord of theistic worldviews. But I can see that you chose to say that she is Christian because that suits your post. You have lied very well, but just quit your duplicity already.
Inesqor, why don't you get out of the ego if only for a few minutes and consider this; don't you think that all those labels that you have just mentioned, are nothing but worldly and carnal things? Did jesus not tell you to leave all the worldly things behind and follow his teachings? You ego originated mind forms, your thoughts, your ideologies that let you make those worldly labels like christians, muslims, pagans, buddhists, and so on, are the worldly things Jesus was refering to.

When you do manage, for a few minutes, to step out of the ego and look at your fellow human being, what you will see is that human being without any of those labels. You will see past those labels and into that human being and discover his/her humanity ans te oneness that you share with that human being, and it is always a beautiful thing to experience. That is what your Jesus asked you to do, and that was what Gabry did and is still doing.

So, can you do it, inesqor? Can you step out of your ego for just a few minutes? Do you have the courage?

You're right, though, time will tell who is right. but for the time being, let us keep on bashing each other on the head with our own ideologies. It is fun. wink
