I don't have data on issue at hand, So no comment for now/

Statistics are like miniskirts. They give you a good idea but can hide the most important feature.
I am in love with this quotation. Thanks Sauron. grin

Politics › Re: Is Increase In Minimum Wage The Answer To Our Problems In Nigeria? by jamace(m): 9:42pm On Feb 21, 2009
Increase in salary is not the ultimate solution to our problem but is a part of the solution to the problem. The civil servants can no longer meet up with the basic responsibility of providing for themselves and their families. What is the minimum wage in Nigeria and what is the maximum wage? Compare #7,500 with about #3,000,000 per month. Bear in mind that both are rendering services to the nation in their own capacity. Remember also that those with the minimum wage have no special allowances to boost their financial power while those that earn the maximum have allowances and other benefits which are 10 times more than the minimum wage. Meanwhile, both have families to care for. Again, the present economic down turn makes the minimum wage in Nigeria grossly inadequate and therefore requires an upward review. In another dimension, the gratuity of those with minimum wage after serving the nation for 35 years is not upto one third of the monthly basic salary of those with the maximum. Just like you said, those who collect the maximum are enthrusted with providing facilities and infrastructure for all, but have they been doing so, and optimally? Nope. Legally, it is right for labour to negotiate for upward review of salaries and wages with their employers from time to time. Therefore, it is in order for labour to request for upward review of their salaries and wages.

@jamace

This is not a matter of praying for him.If yaradua dies in office(God forbid) i do not think you know the level of crisis that will descend on nigeria bearing in mind the political set up of this country.
Nothing will happen that has never happened in history. I make bold to say that nothing bad will happen. It will only lead to a change which is constitutional. Express no fear about the presidents' health. Your fear should be about our religious intolerance and corruption plague. Both are the real threat to the corperate existence of Nigeria.
Politics › Re: Not Ready For Nigeria by jamace(m): 4:18pm On Feb 21, 2009
I don't know why some people are following the President's health condition as if his ill-health is the problem of Nigeria. I believe we should concentrate upon looking for solutions to the religious crisis and corruption that is ravaging our country than attacking the president's health negatively. He is human, so his being sick is nothing extra-ordinary. If you can not wish him well, just let him be.

Politics › Re: House Of Reps 4 Million Naira Sallah/xmas Bonus by jamace(m): 1:42pm On Feb 21, 2009
So how does speaking positive change the situation in this case? lol
To inform and arouse the consciousness of all on the evil of giving #4m to a man for sallah/xmas relaxation in a country where poverty is ravaging those who they are supposed to serve. With this information, some of the politicians will see the evil they are perpetrating and with that the spirit of service could hit a few of them who could standup against it either now or in the future. Note that any information you recieve does not leave you the same. It will surely have an effect which might not be obvious at the moment but with time.

There is no hiding place for this thieving politicians for the fact that we have more frustrated ex-servicemen with unpaid pensions waiting for the slightest opportunity to use their expertise once more (I am not talking about coup). It's like the politicians are not aware of the gathering cloud which will soon turn to rainstorm. Hmmmn.

Politics › Re: 2011 Elections: Politicians Spend Billions On Armoured Vehicles by jamace(m): 8:59am On Feb 21, 2009
They have to hide in armoured vehicles because those whose money they stole are on revenge mission. If they want to be safe, they better use the money for the good of the people else, those armoured vehicles will only be expensive coffins to die in. The people have been pushed to the wall and are bouncing back. There is going to be no hiding place when the bubble finally bursts. Let the looters take note.

Christianity Etc › Re: Do You Believe In Luck? by jamace(m): 12:09pm On Feb 20, 2009
I believe in the blessing of God and the good things of life but some good things of life which you dont expect or deserve(favour) are termed as luck even I sometimes term favour as luck depending on the circumstances it came.
I share your view. Those who say there is nothing like luck should read Ecclisiastes 9:11

there is nothing like luck in the bible but favours. so i dont believe in luck but favours of God.
Rubbish. Is the word "Bible" in the "Bible"? Do you believe in the Bible?
Crime › Re: Muslim Man Kills Wife(for reading bible) And Buries Daughters Alive by jamace(m): 11:45am On Feb 20, 2009
I don't see this story from the standpoint that a muslim did this. I see it from the perspective that men have continued to allow themselves to be decieved and driven to the extreme by religion. Remember the Guyana suicide, where a pastor told his followers that the world was going to end soon. He convinced them to take poison and they did and committed suicide. That is pure nonsense and absolute lack of intelligence. I think men should come out of darkness and know the essence of their existence on earth. Fellow NL, do not see this as something to use to tarnish another person's religion. Rather see it as the foolly of a few who are drunk with religious deceit.
