I am sad to observe that we have reckless and over-zealous drivers and security men in Nigeria. Most of these drivers and security operatives salvour the authority of the dignitary they are protecting than the VIP himself'/herself. They have over bloated ego and false sense of authority. They aid and abet corruption by teaching the VIP most of the corrupt attributes. One thing is sure, They will retire one day. On retirement they look more frustrated and forlon when the naked reality of life dawn on them. May the soul of the boy RIP.
Politics › Re: The Final Solution To Corruption In Nigeria by jamace(m): 6:16pm On Feb 18, 2009
Fellow NL, i enjoyed your views on the issue of finding a final solution to corruption in Nigeria. Frankly, Nigeria's problem has defied every law put in place in Nigeria. Our leaders have learnt how to circumvent and rubbish any laid down rule. Just like a contributor said, Nigeria has all the laws necessary to check corruption in Nigeria. Our problem has been lack of implementation of these laws to the letter. Check out EFCC, ICPC, Code of Conduct Bureau and finally the almighty Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Apart from these main ones, there are many other books of law for citizens and even public office holders. All these books stipulate functions of office holders and what constitute an  offence or breach of conduct and some stipulate punishment for offenders. How comes despite all these books and anti-corruption outfits, corruption still go on unabated? The most annoying aspect is that roughly every Nigerian is religious and exhibit outward sign of loyalty to his/her religion yet corruption is committed by all. The Federal Government even go against the constitution to sponsor christians/moslems on holy pilgrimages, which confirms our love for religion and which was supposed to bind us in love and  curb corruption. Has this influenced positively  our attitude to corruption? I believe this is the darkest age of Nigeria's development wnere every aspect of our lives is in shambles. With the consiousness of the need to fight corruption in all of us, I see hope for a better Nigeria in the nearest future, maybe 10 years to come. The shouts, complaints and subtle threat and even overt confrontation of our leaders will yield fruit one day. I read a Thread here on NL were somebody suggested that we should be calling our leaders on phone and abuse or curse them. Yes, that may sound stupid but it will go a long way to touching  the consciousness of our leaders that all is not well, and there was need for them to lead well else their lives will not  be save as the masses could harm them. Gradually but surely Nigeria will shed its corruption toga one day. Let's just do our little bits in our own little way.

Politics › Re: Tough Times: Nigerians Flee To Ghana by jamace(m): 8:03am On Feb 18, 2009
The main problem of Nigeria is ELECTRICITY!! it's affecting alot of business and they are collapsing! Running biz on fuel is not profitable at all, Total Loss!

The Government are BASTARDS!!! They will die 1 by 1.
Why is there no electricity? Because of corruption, corruption and corruption. All our leaders are scooping our resources into their private use. At times I wonder aloud what is actually wrong with Nigeria. Whichever way I look at it, the fault comes back to our leaders, both serving and retired. They are really fucking everything up with corruption. Is it that our leaders are not educated? Not quite. Is it that there is not enough religious enlightenment? Nay. Is it that the resources for our development are not there? Nope! Then, where lies our problem? Corruption, corruption and corruption. It is our leaders corruptions that have filled and are overflowing to the society. Really sad sad sad.

Politics › Re: Nigerians Are Frustrated With Their Govt by jamace(m): 7:14am On Feb 18, 2009
This is naija democracy in action. If your reps don't perform, curse them till they begin to do so!!
Yessss! There are many ways to kill a rat. So, happy booing and cursing. We can also graduate to stoning them by using catapult(we don't have guns naa) grin. This is the people's revolution starting gradually. He that has eyes to see, let him see!
On a more serious note, these our leaders are giving us more stress than life itself. They loot the treasury without conscience despite the jumbo salary they recieve at our detriment. They collect all contracts, collect the money meant for it and abandon it without completion. They sponsor extra-judicial killings and use our money quash the case. They oppress us even in the churches/mosques by flaunting their wealth to get more prayers and blessings from the pastors/imams ; angry cry . God help us.

Politics › Re: Comfort Are U Earthamam by jamace(m): 10:41pm On Feb 17, 2009
Herein lies one of the problems of Nigeria - Rubbishing every good thing. I am not saying Comfort is Earthmama neither am I disputing it. But I know that some use different pen names. I don't know what they want to achieve by that. But it points to pepertrating corruption at every thing we do. May be, we are cursed.
Politics › Re: Nigeria We Hail Thee: Police Shoot Way Into Court, Abduct Star Witness by jamace(m): 10:28pm On Feb 17, 2009
The story is true. The police are only doing the biddings of our honorables and excellencies (powers that be) who want their interests protected. Do you know the amount of blood money staked by the honorables/excellencies to rubbish the judgement? This is our lot in Nigeria. Life is worth nothing. angry
