I received a message via email on Tuesday that my application was in transit from the Consulate of South Africa in Lagos to the Visa Application Center. I also tracked online and saw the same message there. That I'll be informed when it's ready for collection
I didn't hear from them so I decided to track online again and it has changed back to Application is under process at the South African Embassy. Has anyone else experienced this before?

There's nothing I can do about it. I tracked it, application is still under process.
I called and was told the delay is because I applied too early. It shouldn't be more than 3 months before the date

I visited the VFS center in Abuja for my South Africa visitor’s visa appointment, which I am applying for in order to undertake a postdoctoral fellowship, and I encountered two issues:

1)Upon reviewing my yellow card, I was asked to obtain a yellow card certificate from the Ministry of Health because they were unable to verify it online due to the yellow fever website being down.

2) I was told that I had booked my appointment too early. They stated that appointments should be made no more than three months before the intended travel date, whereas I had scheduled mine 3 month and two weeks. So, I was 2weeks early.

Has anyone heard or experienced this before?

My experience is quite different. I went to VFS application center in Lagos to submit my application to obtain a South African visa in June, with the intent to travel in January. They collected my documents and didn't tell me I booked early.
But it's been over 5 months that I submitted application but I've not heard from them till now. I don't know why it's taking this long.

Being motivated is a good thing... But, doing things the right way is equally as important.

Did you undergo any training on this - before venturing into it? If not - why not contact the OP and get tutored a bit.

It also helps to run through at least page 1 - 2000 of this thread (there's value in it).

- You'd learn from the questions of others.
- You'd also see some "beginner" mistakes and learn from them.

Solely for the purpose of motivation I have attached screenshots of my first year in domaining. And the first sales I made.

I stumbled on this thread, took the OP's training - and began domaining.

I made my errors and learned from them.

There's a lot of educational motivation and critique in the earlier parts of this thread - you should do well to read them.

To the glory of God - I have seen growth. My earnings this year is roughly 5times my year 1.

Currently (2023) - I am still very much a newbie in domaining, but I now make a decent number of sales every month and average between $1-$2k monthly. Strictly through outbounding.

Apologies for the long essay - but, if it is motivation you want - I have shared my journey with you.

There are folks with more exciting domaining stories to tell on this very thread. I urge them to please share...

I used to have this thinking a while back - but it is not so.

For me, some of my names sell quickly because I researched/read/studied the name/niche/target-buyer.

I spend a ridiculous amount of time profiling my possible buyer - which is why - when I present him with my domain it is almost certain he would buy... Simply because I've touched on something he/she might have overlooked.

Before I forget - In the start, I subscribed for Iyke's training. I used his technique and methods for a while. But, as a human being you continue to evolve (or build on your success) or else you'd remain stagnant.

I KNOW the frustration that comes with a sales drought. You begin to question EVERYTHING you know about domaining...(I urge you to stay strong) BUT, this should not mean we result to asking "funny" questions (REALLY - many of these things we are asking can be found on Google or by merely contacting customer care) ...

A few things that I work with:

1.) Time Management - you've got only 24hrs per day... Use it wisely.

2.) READ...LEARN...STUDY (there's simply NO shortcut to this)

3.) Patience... Be patient enough to allow your efforts to yield. Farmer wey plant seed for ground today - no dey wake up see tree tomorrow.

4.) GOD. (I pray).

BONUS:
If you've read this far & you are looking for your next niche - here's some that I think are hot at the moment:

1.) We know "AI" is hot right now - research on tech companies that are active in this niche/segment. At some point - you'd "stumble" on a possibility - and register it. This would likely sell in 4-figures because these guys pay big!

2.) Finance - this is VERY broad, so niche down a little to any of its sub-sectors (loans, mortgage, Brokerage, insurance, investments & VC, FinTech/Payments)

3.) Real estate - this is also VERY broad... (property management, architects, interior designs, constructions)

*** I've given you the niches I am heavily involved in, your work is to dig deeper/research and discover your path for yourself.

Sometimes I wonder how some of you make sales in the 2 days, 1 week, etc....
I believe there's it something you guys are not sharing with us, there's knowledge you have that you have refused to share with the house, just keeping it to yourselves. But no mara, no leyley... Person go buy domain and in less than 3 days him don sell am, e come be as if no be the same domaining we dey domain. I know sey i go find out the secret soon and when i do, if i tell anybody, make i die. I go just dey post sales report, nonsense....

It always feels good to get a quick sale, but this doesn't happen all the time, there's no secret, its hardwork & Grace.
In the sale's report I posted, I sold a name after 3 weeks, another was 6 months and 11 months (close to expiry). It all varies.

I also have plenty that I was unable to sell. Some just expired as I didn't intend to renew. I have lots of names that me and the enduser agreed on price but they went mute. If we start posting these kind of reports, it'll discourage a lot of people. Sales report on NL is what gave me the belief when I started, that i will also make sales.

Keep learning, working believing and praying. More sales to us.
