bolaino: It's a question that should be answered with utmost sincerity, with all honesty and with no religious bias (but I doubt my christian folks will be able to do that).

But let's examine the death of jesus, christians from time immemorial have given us the illusion that it was the greatest and noblest thing any man or God could have done for his people, by paying the ultimate price, ( giving up his life),

But I chose to disagree, in the case of jesus, he is said to be God, and he created all things, having this knowledge how would coming to earth and dying and going back to splendor a big deal? I know of people who have gone through a lot worse for no reward at all, not to talk about jesus, who is supposed to be the beginning and the end, this should have been like a walk in the park for him.

But it was'nt, even knowing fully well that he was going to rise up again and be praised in heaven and on earth for all eternity, he was still scared, begging himself in heaven not to allow the whole thing happen.

Personally I would go through all jesus went through just to be given one billion dollars, I know of people who would go through same tin or even worse for less, did jesus suffer more than the slaves in america? Or did he suffer more than the people who were tortured and beaten to death, in places like cambodia, uganda, rwanda etc, the answer is No, so christians should stop saying how difficult it was for jesus to lay his life down for sinners.

Hence, the commandment for muslims not to eat pork is not scientific but spiritual. There was no way our prophet Muhammed (Peace Be Upon Him) could have known how dangerous pork was at that time. It only meant that the commandment came from a higher authority.

If you pick uo the Qur'an, not just the issue of eating pork, there are so many other commandments/admonitions and information that could not have been possible to know back then. It is only now that we have microscopes and all "other forms of scopes" that we can tell.

bappahman: Bomb explodes behind Emir of Kano’s palace

It is unclear if the latest attack was targeted at the Emir of Kano.

An explosion has been reported near the Emir’s palace in Kano.

The explosive device, driven in a keke NAPEP tricycle, went off metres away from the palace’s back fence, very close to the central mosque where the Emir prays on Fridays.

Muktar Ahmed who prayed at a Mosque close by, minutes before the explosion, said the explosion occurred shortly after the Ishai prayer time, around 8:00 p.m.

The casualty rate is still unknown as the police are still awakening to the incident.

“The scene of the incident was immediately barricaded by the police,” Mr. Ahmed said.

The Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, was a target of an assassination attempt in mid January.

He was attacked by gunmen on a Saturday afternoon leading to the death of his driver and his orderly.

The gunmen laid ambush on the convoy of the Emir around the Zoo road when he was returning from the Murtala Mosque in the city where he had gone to attend a Quranic recitation competition.

He sustained minor injuries and was flown to London for treatment.

It is unclear if the latest attack was targeted at the Emir.

The Kano State Police spokesman, Rilwanu Dutse, could not be reached for details of the incident as he did not pick or return calls made to his phone.

2iic: A suspected bomber met his waterloo in Kano on Wednesday as he was apprehended and killed by an angry mob near the Emir of Kano’s palace

The suspected bomber was said to have been apprehended immediately after setting off an Improvised Explosive Device near a Mosque very close to the palace of the Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero on Wednesday night.

The aggrieved residents were said to have defied the explosion, which went off at Kofar Fatalwa by the Kano Central Mosque, and arrested one of the bombers, who had arrived on a tricycle to set off the bomb.

It was learnt that the residents pursued the terrorists after the blast, and burnt one of the men before handing over the other to security operatives.

The spokesperson for the Joint Task Force in Kano, Ikedioha Iweha, confirmed the explosion.

He also confirmed that no one died from the explosion, itself.

It will be recalled that the Emir escaped an assassination attempt on January 19 when gunmen threw an IED at his convoy.

They then entered the bus and told everybody to get out of the bus and line up beside the bus. According to him, the armed robbers then asked the bus passengers"if you pay your tithe move to the left, if you dont pay tithe stay where you are." He said most people moved to the left but a handful stayed. Then the armed robbers looked at the people that did not moved to the left and told them"you that dont pay your tithe you are robbing God so we are going to rob you, but you that pay your tithe you are free to go." The armed robbers then robbed the none tithe paying group and ran back into the woods without taking anything from the tithe payers....

When i heard the story i was a little perplexed....how can armed robbers who took months in planing and gathering weapons and man power....ambush a bus only to ask them if they pay tithe?
What if everybody would have moved to the left what would have happened? they would just thank them and tell them sorry for the delay and leave?
