We don hear oooooooooooooo. leave us alone. no matter what you guys say here it will not change anything. so whats the point arguing. but note this point: the bible you are quoting was given to you by the catholic church. if all you are saying are correct, they would have removed them(cos it contradicts what they preach) just the way they removed other ones that says Jesus kiss mary magdalene. i plead with the moderators to stop bringing up such issues that will not unite us as one Nigeria. we are so particular about religion. Lets talk on what concerns us as a nation and leave all these argument.PLEASSSSSSSSSSS |

Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola on Monday rescued three children from the scene of Sunday’s Dana Air plane crash. Fashola had visited the site early on Monday when he was informed that the three children had roaming about since Sunday afternoon, after the plane destroyed their flat. They had been sent on an errand by their parents shortly before the plane hit the house. By the time they returned, they could not find their parents. There are fears that their parents may have died when the plane struck their flat. http://www.punchng.com/news/fashola-rescues-three-children-at-crash-site/ |

akigbemaru: Gay activities are not new in Iboland, in fact it's an aged-old tradition. Charley boy is not just steering any controversy he's just overtly bringing out what has been covertly out there for a long period of time. No wonder they see themselves as Jews of Africa, that might be true, because Jews started these gay activities and passes it to pope in Rome. That's why Ibo people held people in high esteem, he puts their heads under his thing so that they can lick from his sugerlicious chemical. Iboland, despite been just only 25,000km squares out of Nigerian's 912,000 km squares, I still see it as Sodom and gomorrah of Africa (sodomizes and gaymorales litter Iboland).Laggard like you. looking for a place to pour your frustration. you better change your mindset before it changes you. |

The recent report by the House of Representatives on fuel subsidy regime, heavily indicted petroleum minister, Dezeani Allison-Madueke, finance minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo,( who was Accountant General of the Federation between 2005 and 2011). It revealed how those who championed the removal of fuel subsidy, swore the nation would collapse without it, fleeced Nigeria of over N1 trillion. Others who allegedly supervised the fleecing of the nation's wealth through fraudulent payments to oil marketers among other scams, are Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Austin Oniwon, former Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Products Pricing and Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), Oluwole Oluleye and the current scribe of the agency, Reginald Stanley. The report exposed the monumental fraud perpetrated by officials of the finance ministry, NNPC, PPPRA, Budget office, and petroleum ministry. It exposed all the rogue deductions by NNPC, extra budget expenditary expenditures, illegal approval of price differentials (discounts ) to NNPC, fraudulent demurrage payments incurred by NNPC, and all payments PPPRA made to itself. According to the report, the NNPC, in tandem with the petroleum ministry over deducted N286 Billion from two separate accounts, in excess of the PPPRA recommended figure for 2011. It also illegally got N311 Billion as subsidy for kerosene contrary to presidential directive of July 29 2009 withdrawing subsidy on the product. Between 2009 and 2011, the NNPC illegally got discounts on crude oil price per barrel, to the tune of N108 Billion The PPPRA fraudulently paid itself over N312 Billion between 2009 and 2010. The finance ministry in collaboration with the office of the Accountant General of the Federation, approved foreign exchange payments to marketers who did not import petroleum products. The report also revealed that Gombe state governor, Dankwambo, as AGF, fraudulently approved the whooping sum of N998 Million, 128 times in twenty four hours, betwenn 12 and 13th January 2009 under the same scam. The revelations exposed the hypocrisy and crookedness of Okonjo-Iweala, Madueke and Ibe who doggedly defended the reoval of fuel subsidy. The report also brought to the fore the reason why the trio came to the Faruk Lawan hearing with conflicting figures, and why Finance minister minister admitted she nor her officials never attended PPPRA meetings despite the fact she is a member. |
Tom Henning Ovrebo, the referee of the controversial Champions League semi-final between Chelsea and Barcelona in 2009, has admitted that he made mistakes in the game that denied the Premier League side a place in the final. Ovrebo found himself at the centre of a firestorm at Stamford Bridge at the end of the second leg three years ago, having rejected four reasonable penalty claims from the home side - then managed by Guus Hiddink - during the 90 minutes, as they eventually went out to Andres Iniesta's last-minute strike. The Norwegian official was confronted by Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba even before the final whistle, and subsequently received death threats from a section of irate Chelsea fans. Ovrebo has now revealed that he still receives threatening messages, and has admitted that he did not enforce the laws correctly during the game at Stamford Bridge. "I still get a few death threats, but they go straight into the garbage box. I don't take them seriously, although sometimes I wonder about the people who send them," Ovrebo told The Times. "Just yesterday I got an email from a Chelsea fan saying he wanted to kill me and my family. "Everyone who knows the laws of the game knows I should have done things differently, but that's the life of a referee. In a strange way, I was actually satisfied with the way we all managed to keep calm in a tense situation." He added: "On the pitch I did my best. I shouldn't have to apologise as mistakes are part of the game." Drogba was subsequently given a five-game ban by UEFA for his outburst at the final whistle, with team-mate Jose Bosingwa given a three-game suspension. Ovrebo feels no ill-will towards the Ivorian, however, after the pair reconciled their differences at the disciplinary hearing. "It was a very challenging match and with the angry scenes after the final whistle it became less enjoyable," Ovrebo noted. "Some players got too emotional and behaved badly, but no one got killed. It's important to put it into perspective. "It helped me as a referee ... if I can cope with Drogba screaming at me, I can cope with anything - although he's a nice guy, really." The Blues have the chance to gain revenge on the Spanish club, as they face them in the Champions League semi-finals again this season. The first leg takes place at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday |

Nigerian Americans have long been known for their community’s intense cultural emphasis on education, and now an analysis of Census data coupled with several local surveys shows that Nigerians don't just value education, but surpass all other U.S. ethnic groups when it comes to obtaining degrees. "Being Black, you are already at a disadvantage," Oluyinka Olutoye, an associate professor of pediatric surgery at Baylor College of Medicine, told the Houston Chronicle. "You really need to excel far above if you want to be considered for anything in this country." According to 2006 census data, 37 percent of Nigerians in the U.S. had bachelor's degrees, 17 percent held master's degrees and 4 percent had doctorates. In contrast, the same census data showed only 19 percent of white Americans had bachelor’s degrees, 8 percent held master’s degrees and only 1 percent held doctorates, the paper reports. The census data was bolstered by an independent analysis of 13 annual Houston-area surveys conducted by Rice University and commissioned by the Chronicle. "These are higher levels of educational attainment than were found in any other...community," Stephen Klineberg, a sociologist at Rice University who conducts the annual Houston Area Survey, told the paper. |
how do i make my post(thread) appear on front page |
fellow NL. why did Okonjo Iweala lost the world bank top seat? is it because she is from the third world country or because she is a lady or because of the powerful cabal in USA. pls lets hear your opinion |
You people baffles me. During Easter celebration, the phrase "WHERE IS IT IN THE BIBLE" featured prominently. CAN U GUYS TELL ME WHERE IS IT IN THE BIBLE THAT ALCOHOL IS A SIN. many of you take drugs forgetting that most of them has alcohol. The catholic church does not condemn alcohol but taking it in excess is a sin cos of what it will lead you to. |
Why do people like to attack the catholic church. Winners chapel holds 21 days or more fasting every january- is it biblical. They also ve shilo every dec- is it biblical. Watching atmospher for miracle on tv- is it biblical. Why don't u respect what others decided to do at a particular time. Infact the biggest question is - Is it biblical to worship on sunday |
people who should contribute to this topic are those who observe lent. if you don't observe lent please leave others and don't judge them or their religion. child baptism or believe in purgatory, lent etc are none of your business. i have learnt that argument on this issue cannot convert one from Catholicism to Pentecostalism and verse visa. why do you people always attack the catholic church and some orthodox churches. the bible says the gates of hell(including attacks on the church outside and within) will not destroy the church. i personally will not criticize other churches because they dont ask their members to commit sin rather the members indulge in sin. come to think of it pastors preach that heaven is better than this world yet they live in mansions buy jet wear expensive clothes while their members die in poverty. they should leave their comfort and die quickly for the sake of heaven (boko haram are doing that already though in a negative way) please let us watch our comments because Nigeria is a religious country and any bad comment will hurt so many people. |
