Bnimz: According to DIBP, you can do your medicals in advance if you're sure of applying for the visa before its validity runs out.. What you need to do is to create an IMMIACCOUNT account,, and use the My Health Declarations form... After you're done with it, you will get a HAP ID which you can then use to schedule your medical appointment with the clinic. ..
Its valid for a year.. So, in the unlikely event that you don't apply for a visa after a year, you'll need to do another one.... That is just the disadvantage...
As for PCC, that one no be issue.. But again, the 1 year validity applies...
So, ya you fit do PCC and Medicals in advance... The advantage of doing all in advance and submitting all at once be say, when you eventually apply, except problem dey, it tends to be Direct Grant without CO contact.... And tends to take just about 2 weeks Ope oooo!!!! McTowel01 did you hear that? #offtofatayiwilliams |

My advice to everyone in the process of application is to carefully read every post here and adhere to the invaluable advice provided., and don't give up, Urs shall come soon. Timelines like urs give those of us at the planning stage all the strength and determination to stay positive, focused and resilient in achieving this heart pumping feat. Just a couple of pages back, Oga Bellong was spanking you for delaying ur search and conversion for ITA money. I'm really happy for you, sister. I wish the rest of us the best on this quest. |

Prolivingproof: Is there any CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER in this forum who has received a positive assessment from VETASSESS. Just getting my documents ready for submission to VETASSESS. I have obtained a 5year B.Eng degree in Building and Construction Engineering Technology under Civil Engineering and Msc in Structural Design and Construction Management. Worked for 5years before the Msc course and 7years after the MSc course. In all i have worked as a construction Manager for 9years i.e 2years before MSc and 7years after MSc. The point is , I understand all the processes involved in this pathway to PR, but the qualification and work experience assessment are the issues i need opinions, 'cos' haven't seen anyone mention this job title in all the pages of this thread which i have judiciously perused that makes me shiver.
My appreciation to these men and women dishing out their precious and valuable time to educate and encourage others in this forum @bellong Why not look at your B.Eng transcript critically and see if you can be assessed as a civil engineer under EA. If you really need work points, align your tasks as well to those of civil engineers on the anzsco task list and do away with VETASSESS Going by people's opinions here, EA is easier and faster. |

catchdwind4rmkd: I advise you to ask openly here for relevant CDR to your occupation. Mine, however, won't help you as different competencies are required. However, if you insist, then you should contact @Malkinburg as I've clearly acknowledged/referenced him.
This thread is followed by people from different occupations. It's far more helpful to make an open request regarding your specific case than request for generic materials. Someone will definitely contact you with helpful materials on your field. Well, yeah you are right to an extent. However, when people ask for your CDR, it is not necessarily because they want to lift the contents. What is most important is the structure. Regardless of your engineering discipline, EA is looking for something in your reports; and that is what is outlined in your summary statements and people can gain insight from how you have structured yours to receive a positive outcome. If anyone is naive enough to do 'copy and paste' (or paraphrase your work at best), then it's at their own peril and not yours, thank God you have scaled the hurdle. hsim247 and others who needs samples, there are lots all over the internet for your guidance(not for copy and paste else you'd regret it) google cdr scribd dot com To sum up, your 'Holy Grail' on this CDR thingy is the EA's booklet |

Bnimz: Question for the Engineers.. I have read the whole MSA user guide from EA - it is possible I missed it - but I did not see anything about the Chronology of the CDR as a whole pertaining to each CER.... So I want to ask, Is there a specific chronology? do we write from most recent to the oldest, or from oldest to most recent;;;
for example if I have 3 episodes from 2012, 2013, 2014
is there a specific rule that says maybe CER 1 MUST BE 2012, CER 2 = 2013, CER 3 = 2014
OR , CER 1 = 2014, CER 2 = 2013, CER 3 = 2012
If there is no such rule,, what arrangement is recommended? Abi it doesnt matter? Thanks
(i've finished writing two... i'm on the last one, na why I dey ask) Note that you won't be uploading a single document containing all the CERs. On EA's website you will upload them individually and chronological ordering won't even come up for you to consider. Unless you are saying which should be uploaded first which I think is irrelevant. |

diggy4real: I need clarification on this.....MSA brochure recommended only TOEFL and IELTS for engineers..if one gets the minimum 6.0 across all bands....can one go for PTE to add up to ones IELTS for points? You need to prove your language proficiency for two reasons: 1. To get assessed by EA -all they need is IELTS (minimum of 6 per band) or TOEFL 2. To submit your EOI with DIPB and gather points for PR purpose (refer to page 1 please!!)-your options here vary;IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, etc You may decide to use one IELTS result for 1 and 2. OR Use IELTS for EA assessment and PTE for EOI with DIPB (cos PTE is supposedly easier to pass and thus boost your points) Again... Please read this thread from back to back and all your questions have been answered over and again |

diggy4real: Please can I use a student copy of transcript..... That was written boldly across it...."NOT FOR OFFICIAL USE"......for EA assessment? Since schools don't give official copies to students. Some guys here have used their student's copy transcripts for EA assessment and gotten positive outcome. But if u are skeptical about the 'Not for Official Use', go ahead and request official transcript from your school. You may have it forwarded to a corporate address you have access to (eg ur workplace) |

mctowel01: Hello, something we aren't really talking about here. With this rising exchange rate, how can one fund these plans? What are alternatives available in getting dollars for payment? It would be good if we discuss and share ideas on this. Well something I feel should ease up your budget is to find a friend or relative in Australia (or anywhere else in diaspora). They can help make payments on your behalf while you reimburse (or pay ahead) using western union or moneygram. Their rates are far bearable compared to banks' or mallam's. It's a theory I applied when I travelled to Dubai for honeymoon and I saved a lot. |

mctowel01: 1.Assessing work experience(skill assessment) with EA is optional whether you used it in your cdr or not. 2. Its good to assess work experience with EA. However, its the final prerogative of dibp to determine whether you can claim those points for work experience. (Need some affirmation here) 3. Its even stated in their site.. Assessing work experience with EA is your choice. Besides, the figure you quoted there is without the fast track which is a long wait. With fast track, its about $A1150. Mctowel01 my personal person!! You rock!!! Don't mind me...na fast track fit do am ooo. I'm just quoting the basic figure to differentiate CDR only from CDR+Assesmment. |

jamson: Oga Bellong,
Just to be double sure. I don't need to present any evidence for school project based CDR, do I?
cc Jukeblam, Mctowel01, Deleyi20, Ibiyemiara Guys, I think I have mixed it up somewhere Ok this is my story. Maybe that would help clarify better I got 5+ years experience in Electrical Engineering/Communications Consultancy- Verifiable with offer letters, payslips, letters of rec, SOA, etc. I have completed 2 CERs based on the work experience Then 3rd CER is on my School Project. I intend claiming points for my 5+ years (thought that is to happen with DIPB and not EA as someone on this forum said I need not bother with CDR+Work Assesment, just CDR only as DIBP got the final say on points for work) Ponders 1. If 2 of my CER is based on workplace experience, does that mean I must then pay for CDR+Relevant Skill Assesment? 2. Where exactly do I claim points? EA or DIBP? or both? 3. If I am paying for CDR only (A$750) does that disqualify me from claiming points? 4. ............ cc Jukeblam, Mctowel01, Deleyi20, Ibiyemiara |
