I rejoice with you bro and I tap into your Blessing. One of d reason why I love Ausie is the standard of living . I won't lie u na my spirit dey naija ,my full body is in Ausie as I type this. If we manage leave Nigeria we will know that we have been in hell. Jejeje dey obey d rule of d land and leave ur peaceful life jejeje for Ausie. So how is the. experience so far, the weather , food and the mortgage system how are they like?
Thanks for your kind words, it has only been 8 weeks, so to come here forming 'omo onile' would be fraudulent. So far, it has been cold. Not UK, or Canada cold. The lowest we've seen in Sydney since we arrived is around 12 degrees. From the news, Melbourne and Canberra have seen worse. I hear summer can be Sokoto hot (we never experience am sha).

Food. Maybe, because lots of Asians reside here, you get to see lots of food stuff that is familiar with ours like rice, beans (white), potatoes, choice fruits like apples, oranges, bananas, pineapples and vegetables like lettuce, cabbage, cucumber (not sure but I think I caught a glimpse of ewedu in an Indian store). Surprisingly, plantain and yam dey, but not everywhere. Chicken is the cheapest meat around. There are few African shops selling stuff like Palm oil, garri, etc though expensive.

Can't say much about the mortgage system, but I know it's unlike naija wey banks go give only politicians and some selected few others mortgage loan. Everyone with a valid and regular source of income has a fair chance.

Life is not all bread and butter to be honest, but it's not a hard nut to crack too. I hope to see your body reunite with your spirit soon.

Cheers

Thanks a million, for pay slips, amount deducted on tax reflected on it, only one year missing, my first year in the company and can provide like 3 per year till date; however, I have a bank statement that reflects all the salaries I have received till date. Finally, I think I will go ahead with I have and hope for the best.
see the screenshot below. though Statement of account showing your income is not stated, but it obviously qualifies to be among the highlighted.

Someone should help me out on this question.
Whichever you lay your hands on is fine. Even better if you have a tax document (any kind) plus a pension fund statement. They are independent documents that verify your income from the company you work for. EA asks for any of the two. A bank statement showing salary inflow will suffice too. If your assessor needs more, he/she will ask. EA no too get wahala jare. No reason to fear.

You should take extra care to work on your:

1. Reference letter (clearly showing important details as outlined in EA's MSA doc). Your job duties should reflect at least 80% of the duties of the profession you are nominating as listed in the ANZSCO doc
2. CDR
3. Transcript + certificate
4. Etc

Ok folks,

Been itching to come around and drop my memoir. It's been quite a while isn't it? Will be 2 months old in Sydney, Australia in a few days time. I missed you guys no be small

Same same story with medicare, centrelink and Tax file number. Tyosho did justice to those already.

Well, as planned, we hit the Aussie's ground running. Got white card within 3 days of arrival and a forklift license within 2 weeks. On the side I kept applying for the pro job. I got a Forklift job immediately I got the license and the pay wasn't bad for someone who just arrived. Turns out if you want to get a job on time, you do not only push out your CV but also call the advertising agencies to follow up on your application. More often than not, I got to secure interviews with recruiters I called up after applications.

Accomodation is story for another day, but in the end, God win and devil lost...lolzz. I'll advise those coming to start hunting as soon as they arrive so they don't fall under intense pressure like I did to get a place. It's not mere gainsaying that you must come with enough money so you can get what you want without sweat. Real estate agents give preference to people with:

1. Good rental history (sorry, your Akowonjo or Okokomaiko rent does not count)
2. Enough payslips to show you have a job (so for house rent sake, don't mind picking up any ok job as soon as u land as the payslip will work wonders for u)
3. Fat account balance (like one month of average wage sha)

House rent in Sydney is not cheap, but at the same time, it's all about location and individual preferences. So it's hard to a 1 bedder goes for this or a 2 bedder goes for that. But all I can say is that, Sydney hourly rates will definitely pay your bills if you are not lazy or unnecessarily choosy.

Agents usually organise general inspections for properties they are letting out. Na there you go see crowd wey come check house. There is a tendency for you to lose the house to some other people who have better credentials than you do (JJC). The secret here is to call the agents ahead of the inspection days and request for a private look and feel of the place not forgetting to mention how serious you are in getting the place. At least, that's how I eventually got my place after more than 3 weeks of fruitless house hunt.

It's good to get a car for job and domestic purposes. But I advise you get from a dealership where you can cause trouble if your car coughs.
The story about getting a car for job purposes is not one size fits all. Within 2 months I have worked in 3 places, 2 of which requires a car.

I failed my first driving license test (didn't have time to prepare for it well, was busy making money...lolzz and looking for house too sha). You must be more than prepared to leave behind you the insanity of Lagos driving and become a born again driver. Use a drivign instructor ahead of your test and pay attention to traffic signs and other details. Enjoy your 3 months of naija license while it lasts.

Happy to say I'm on my first professional job and I have every reason to be thankful to God and to friends that helped make my journey so far as smooth as possible: Bellong, Ibiyemiara, Iceberg54 and Bnimz.

Now that I'm settling down better than ever, I hope to be here on the forum make we dey gist like before.

Love you guys!!!!

Hello Jamson, I'm a civil/structural engineer, with over six years experience. I need you to please make out time and answer these few questions regarding EA assessment:
1. Do I need to have NSE/COREN license before applying for assessment?
2. How long did your assessment take?
3. Is IELTS required for assessment? If yes, which did you take, academic or general? I'm guessing general.
4. How much did you pay, and what's the breakdown?
5. Do you mind I have a sample of your CDR?

No offence. Thanks.
Perfectly answered by Mctowel01

There is a link already on the thread for a library of CDR samples posted by Bnimz, pls search for it.

Hello House,

I have just been contacted by GSM Brisbane. They asked for:
1. Evidence of change of name for all other names (for me and my husband) mentioned in my application and
2. PCC for these names.

Please i need urgent help with these questions

Can we use court affidavits as evidence for the name change?
Can one PCC serve for up to 3 names of one person?
Also can we get PCC (Nigeria) without an international passport bearing each of the names? These names are not officially in use, but appear on birth certificate and degree result.

cc jamson
Kinda unusual situation there. It is now established that DIBP no dey take change of name play at all. For evidence of change of name I made use of newspaper declaration. An affidavit should do the job as well. It's hard for me to say whether or not you should get PCC for each name especially if the bearer is less than 16 years old. But I know for sure you can get PCC for a name other than that on the passport

Congratulations Jamson. I wish you greater heights bro. But I don't understand it when you said you wrote 6 career episodes.
I thrashed the first 3 CERs I wrote based on my mentor's advice as he wasn't convinced EA might easily correlate them to the occupation I was nominating.

Mr Keleto, I was like you couple of months back. Scared of putting together a CDR. I even came to the thread to ask if I could use TRA too. But in the end, you would find out that EA is the easiest and fastest body to assess with. Even non engineers on the thread are wishing they had the opportunity to be assessed by EA.

CDR is not as hard as you think....
