According to unofficial sources, we have been informed that Tecno’s latest addition to the Phantom series, the Phantom 5 is in line to receive an update to the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Phantom came loaded with the Lollipop version and users will soon be able to receive Over The Air (OTA) update to enjoy the offering of Google’s latest Android version.

While there has been concerns about Tecno devices not being able to get OTA updates, it has been observed that updates are gradually rolling in on the Boom J7, the Camon C8 and the Phantom 5. However these OTA updates only improves overall system performance but not an upgrade to the Android version.

While we await these updates to begin rolling out on the Phantom 5, it will be more interesting if other devices such as the Camon C8 gets an OS bump to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

We have reached out to the guys at Tecno and we are sure to give you an update once we get a response.

Why will they use YunOs when they don't even use AOSP? MIUI was developed before the YunOS, has its own app store and has been ported to more devices than YunOS.

Any Xiaomi device that doesn't carry the MIUI ROM (Yun,Mokee,Flyme,Lewa,Color,AOSP,Cyanogenmod) must be a ported ROM.

If you are going for functionality, you should get the Phantom 5. It has a 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM, quad core processor and many more. I was lucky enough to operate the Phantom 5 for a little while and I must say, it's a keeper.

Janet trust me if i put a Samsung J7 and a Tecno Camon C8 in front of you, you won't hesitate to pick the Samsumg and thank God Tecno came out with the new Phamtom 5, it 's more of a match for the J7 than the Camon and please i have now seen the Camon in action, the camera and all that and i can say it was over hyped, it looks alright but the front camera is basic even with the flash, MissTechy i am very sure doesn't use and woudn't buy the Camon C8 for the very reasons i won't.
