Iran’s IRGC says it downed a drone over Fars province

In a statement shared by Iran’s semiofficial Tasnim news agency, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it intercepted and destroyed a Hermes 900 drone over Lar, a city in the southwestern province of Fars.

The IRGC added that the presence of any US or Israeli “enemy aircraft” in Iranian airspace, “even without conducting military operations”, would be considered a violation of the ceasefire agreement.

“And a decisive response will be given,” it said.

He added that “there is no safe place” for Hezbollah members, writing on X: “The [Israeli army] will continue to pursue you and operate with great force against you wherever you are.”

‘There is no ceasefire here’ in Lebanon

When the ceasefire was announced overnight, people were hoping it would hold and that Lebanon would be included. But it soon became clear that Lebanon was not included. These statements came directly from the Israeli military, who released several warnings this morning leading up to a very massive, countrywide strike.

One of them included an entire neighborhood here, Abbasiya, which was also targeted during this massive strike across the country. Several locations on the outskirts of the city were also attacked. Two missiles landed in the center of Tyre itself, on the small peninsula that goes out into the Mediterranean Sea.

People were actually hoping to come back to these areas in southern Lebanon after the ceasefire announcement. There was some traffic headed from the north to the south overnight. But now it has become clear to everybody here, there is no ceasefire.

US-Israel suffered ‘crushing defeat’ in Iran, Russia’s Foreign Ministry says

“Our country, from the very beginning, in its first statements, said that it was necessary to immediately stop this aggression, that there was no military solution to this situation or any attempt to establish order in the region,” she said on Sputnik radio.

Zakharova also said it was necessary to immediately begin “a real political and diplomatic settlement, which, of course, is based on the negotiation process with a real consideration of positions”.
