Take this example: fill up two cars and put them on the road, one with petrol and the other with CNG, let's say both with 60cl. Destination is Benin City.

Fuel car reaches destination in 3 hours with 40cl, remaining 20cl.

CNG car reaches destination with the exact 60cl in about 5 to 6 hours.

So I believe most people would prefer fuel although more expensive.

He was talking about range (distance that your car will cover at a certain fuel level, in this case, when your car is filled up with either gas or petrol). So, he is saying when your car is filled up with a 60L of petrol, you will travel more distance than when it is filled up with 60L of gas. But of course price of gas/L is cheaper than price of petrol/L. FYI, CNG is sold in SCM. 60L CNG tank will take about 12-15SCM of CNG depending on pressure and where you refill. So, at N200/SCM retail price, cost to fill up 60L CNG is between N2,400 and N3,000 compared to petrol of N36,000 for same 60L.
The common denominator to determine the cheaper one is to do a calc on cost/KM which OP already did.

Are you talking about speed or consumption? If it's speed, it's understandable and people would grab it. Who speed help? But if it's consumption (as in, which one burns faster) then fuel although costlier will still be preferred.

Ah! Op said a full tank CNG will cover lower miles than a full tank petrol and diesel. So comparatively it's not really cheap in that sense. The more you look the less you see.
