daregold:
Sanusi is not a saint but a PROFESSIONAL FRAUD TOOL in the hand of GEJ. The two big banks oceanic and intercontinental were technically taken over by the CABALS,GODFATHERS AND GEJ.The whole process of banking reform is a BIG FRAUD, including AMCON. You the onlookers won't know what is happening underground because they have packaged you to think in a certain way or direction. All those noise you are hearing over the TV, Dailies and Radio by Sanusi are all propaganda to package all Nigerians.

No body will ever know that OBJ took over the 2nd largest bank in Nigeria when he was in power. What you are seeing today is the strategy to seal all their underground deals or buy over of those banks, buy more oil well, buy up PHCN etc. You never ask yourself why is repairing and building more refineries not a priority to the government.GEJ objective is to loot using professionals just like OBJ and the then CBN governor among others.

They will package their evil game plan as a benefit to the public in other to steal. What GEJ is telling us about fuel subsidy removal today, Babangida, OBJ told us the same. But today where is the money and where is the magin, where are the roads and infrastructures and other things they promised.

The game plan is simply to use the money for the public for 1-2 yr, then they go away with the subsequent money and deletion of the source of funds from paper and all they will tell you is that the funds are being used for so and so.

Must everyone that rule Nigeria loot?

I AM CERTAIN IN MY HEART THAT ANY MAN THAT LOOT THIS NATION WILL EXPERIENCE THE WRATH OF GOD AND THEIR CHILDREN UNBORN WILL NOT ESCAPE GOD'S WRATH.

If 6% depositors own 88% of bank deposit in Nigeria, then we all have to sit down and think.

PLEASE PRAY EARNESTLY FOR THIS NATION THAT GOD SHOULD HAVE MERCY ON US AND EXTINCT THE EVIL MEN AND TAKE OVER THIS NATION.
The rate at which supposedly educated folks display wanton ignorance and pettiness alarm me.

So there is someone that still believes Intercontinental and Oceanic Banks were not in serious trouble before Sanusi came on board?
Maybe you need to read Segun Adeniyi's book to know that even before Sanusi came on board there had been widespread suspicion that something grave was happening in the banking sector and Soludo was either unaware of it or looking the other way.

Sanusi's banking reforms predated GEJ presidency, how you said he was working for GEJ in his banking reforms is beyond me!

Na wa for this level of thinking o

Ok. We can raise 200k, 50k from TeHN's pocket, 150k freshly raised.

In the limited availability of the Coordinator(r231), can his Assistant(OAM4J) take charge and moderate this discussion so we have a clear direction and action plan?
Nairaland General › Re: Nairaland Charity Organisation- E-Helpers Network by Jarus(m): 2:04pm On Jan 13, 2012
Sorry, fellow e-Helpers, for reporting late. I have been following from sideline yesterday, quite busy.

I want to suggest as follows:

1, Although her case is beyond doubt genuine, we need to still fulfill our documented procedure of physical verification, which I think Ify has undertaken to help do, after strike. If we can get an Edo Nairalander it will be equally better

2, But pending verification, we shall swing into action immediately

3, We should offer 2 forms of assistance: Financial and Moral

FINANCIAL: clearly, footing the whole bill is beyond our capacity, so our financial assistance will be in form of palliatives. She says she needs about 10-15k per month for some drugs, if I get the earlier posts well. Let's take that one up. 15k times 6 months=90k, plus some other expenses, let's mark that up to 150k. I suggest we take 50k from our current purse(TeHN) and raise the remainign 100k for her thru a dedicated fund-raising thread, the way we did for the Obuhs.

MORAL: We will work on linking her up with NGO or Health Minister or even faciliate a publication of her case in newspapers and TV houses to seek wider attention and get sponsor/expert opinions on her trip abrod.

Let's be proactive. What do you guys think?

This bush man again!

Can you ever imagine a Dangote or even Wale Tinubu talking like this?

When SLS published the names of bank debtors in 2009, he was the first person to come out and deny he was owing any bank. The next day, he was the first to go and pay his debts and invited press to cover it.

How petty can a money-miss-road get!

This guy is just saying what he knows we want to hear. Why didnt he suggest this to Mr President before embarking on the subsidy removal. Moreover, the money would be squandered by the same people, They are all birds of a feather and he is one of them. CBN cannot claim to be ignorant of corruption in NNPC, and other government parastatals, so they are awae and perhaps get their cut. We have all studied economics and we know some of these thnigs but these only work in a sane and organised environment, so cut the crap!!!
You want him to go and fix corruption in NNPC as NNPC GMD/Petroleum Minister abi?

Naija sha.
Once someone is speaking nice English, and has a lot to say,  they are automatically 'brilliant'.
So we are still at this level of colonial mentality, and some of you are supposed to be the new generation. Shame.
Oga, can we have your idea of a brilliant person and how SLS is not qualified?
And how you come to the conclusion that 'speaking nice English and having a lot to say' is what those that said he is brilliant used to judge? And the consequent insult!

I strongly doubt Hausas will forment trouble outside their home zone(north) except they are defending themselves or retaliating?

Oando is a legitimate importer and unless any of you can prove that Oando participate in sharp practices like smuggling to other country, over-invoicing etc, stop counting Oando as cabal.

Fuel importation by a competent company is a legitimate biz, go after the mushroom companies that were quickly set up in the last 3 years and being given licence to import when they are not qualified.

A final year varsity student and Students Union leader not knowing anything about subsidy.

By the same token, how can he convince us that his new stand is also because of some personal benefits?

Mine is not in Ilorin, but in another town in Kwara I won't like to mention.
But I once got an offer to buy a complete, fenced and already painted 3-bedroom flat in Ilorin at 4m.

You will surely get a land at 1m a plot at a decent place in Ilorin. You should also be able to get a decent landed property at 7m.

Your expectations are therefore realistic.
Politics › Re: Email Conversation With Sanusi On Fuel Subsidy Removal by Jarus(m): 2:10pm On Jan 07, 2012
SLS is actually a very approachable person. And he takes his time to communicate directly with people. I have read his exchanges in a googlegroup that has Mobolaji Aluko and co. That is very rare of a public servant in this clime.

I also have his mobile and we communicate from time to time and he takes his time to clarify things to anybody, irrespective of how lowly one is.

For example when Ayo Oritsejafor and co were spreading that Sanusi had re-introduced arabic inscription on our notes and people were swallowing it en masse, I confronted him directly and he said he never re-introduced arabic, that what Soludo did was to remove arabic from denominations less than 100 and he never did for 100 and above, and that is the way it still is. Worried about how this propaganda against him was spreading, I advised that, why can't CBN issue an official statement to debunk that lie, and he told me 'impossible!'(his word) that it is too glaring and petty.

Yes, I agree with this.

From experience: Post(Garri + beans) = Sleep.

If you have time to sleep after attacking, then you may sub kulikuli for beans(cooked with fresh palm oil). Just set your fan close, after attacking, I tell you within 5 minutes you will find yourself sleeping on the floor. you wil not even remember to pack your materials(cup, sugar pack etc).

Politics › Re: Nigeria Bank Boss Sanusi Defends Fuel Subsidy Removal - BBC Podcast by Jarus(m): 12:09pm On Jan 06, 2012
I am personally not against deregulation, my issue is with how it's been done.
Put some fundamentals in place, then remove subsidy.

Something like:
1, Fix (or even sell) government refineries
2, Give private oil companies that already have refinign licences 2 years to complete their refineries(I know those that have started their refineries already, only slow-paced because it is not profitable under subsidy regime)
3, Issue more refining licences
4, Give a timeline for removal, say 30 months i.e June 2014.
5, At the expiration of 2 years deadline, withdraw licence from oil companies with refining licence but don't build refine
6, By this time, local production would have shot up to meet demand or close to it
7, Importation of petroleum products can the be banned after 1 year, say December 2014.
This is the phased deregulation I expect.

Politics › Re: Oil Workers Divided Over Strike by Jarus(m): 8:23am On Jan 06, 2012
The One:
Babatunde Ogun is a stooge who is being manipulated by Oil company mgt to break the unity of PENGASSAN. All the policies being introduced since he got into office are designed to provoke individual chapters into rebellion and thus break the union and play into mgt's hands. Imagine him and a couple of others sitting down and saying they increased union dues from only 0.75% of basic salary to 2% of basic salary and 5%of every other allowance. To quantify, he wants to increase yearly dues from an average of about N100,000 to N700,000 per member even when there is no reporting on how they spend the current dues. Also, he knows that such a decision can only be taken at a full delegates conference but still went ahead in his bid to break the union. Anyways, my company chapter have told him we don't agree to such nonsense and will pull out of PENGASSAN if need be.

Members will join the strike whatever Ogun says. Only thing is that I don't think production will be shut-in and that is not customary during strikes. It is a weapon of the very last resort if all else fails. There are a couple of reasons why you wouldn't want to shut-in but I won't go into that now.
Na so o. This leadership appears to have been infiltrated. I think I also need to start active participation in PENGASSAN activities, starting with contesting a position in my chapter in the next elections. The Secretary sits besides me here and he still insists they've not gotten communication from National Secretariat on way to go. We have already told them here that whether they send official commuincation or not, we are joining.
Politics › Re: Seun Osewa, Would You Be Interested In Political Office (nass)? by Jarus(m): 8:16am On Jan 06, 2012
One thing about Seun is he knows himself very well and he is very frank about it. He is very straightforward and frank about his person: atheist, capitalist, not likeable. He doesn't mix or play with words to describe himself.
Politics › Re: Oil Workers Divided Over Strike by Jarus(m): 8:03am On Jan 06, 2012
I am a member of PENGASSAN, and close to my branch Chairman and Secretary, both of whom have confirmed that although there is no drective yet from National Secretariat, it is vey likely that we join.

In any case, whether there is directive or not, boys are ready to taatan for this strike. I will personally mobilize and lead the revolt against the leadership if they compromise on this one.
