See as you just de laugh like person wey buy new toothbrush grin

Do you mean China's system of procreation? I'm actually not a fan of it but, going by that system, we (Nigeria) need to curb, to the barest minimum, the rate of unemployment at present so as to accommodate the already unemployed graduates so that then, the war against unemployment will be victorious.
You be winch!!! grin. How you take know I get new toothbrush? Na Sunday I get am ooo grin

grin on a lighter note, the high unemployment rate can also be linked to the high population rate. grin

We're too many in this Country grin. The government should adopt China's system ;that way the jobs would be available for most. grin

@ Bolded, How many companies/factories have come to these Nigerian Economics departments to source for economics related assistance? None. So your point here is baseless.
With no offence to the Economics departments (I finished from one anyway), employers won't come because they know the departments are not practical.

We just keep on 'assuming'... can they build workable models with our own variables that apply to us?

they told us about the people in government today, how they started, they were given job after service year with official car with no experience, but they have failed us because they do not learn from other nation example, A lecturer teaching geology student , MSC class for that matter' trying to explain how a machine works, and when he was asked to explain better, the professor said , in his word

" I myself have not seen the machine before" that is what i was told, they said it worked like this, like that
"

imagine a lecturer saying that? it was one of the student who is already working with the machine in Port Harcourt that explained to the student" and the lecturer , and the lecturer was even begging him to make arrangement for him so he could see the machine working to enable him know how to explain to the student next year!

how then do you want the student to know what their teacher do not know?

in Germany and Australia , Especially in Germany, when you do 1hour in class, you will do 2hrs in the workshop, it is called apprenticeship programme , that is the best way to pass knowledge to the upcoming generation and make them employable.

then again, there is something called National skill Needs, The National Skill Needs Board is a body responsible for calculating and estimating the skill need of a nation, and their finding will then be forward to NUC who will pass the message to Universities on many medical student should be admitted, Carpentry, plumbing ETC but reverse is the case in Nigeria today, we are all trained to handle pen in the office for white collar jobs.

link to Australia national skill needs and apprenticeship programme.
http://www.australianapprenticeships.gov.au/publications/about-national-skills-needs-list

you can also see their skill shortage information here
https://www.employment.gov.au/national-state-and-territory-skill-shortage-information

the areas where demand could not be met are then given to foreigners , this is what determine the number of visa given to foreign workers

unlike in Nigeria where they just work without planning e.g running a nation without budget, universities /NUC producing graduates without objectives and then blaming the graduates for not been able to fix into the economy

96% of our officials are just busy gallivanting around as official for nothing .
kiss I love you. So analytical, on point and apt.
You finished from a Nigerian University?

@ topic, many of Nigerian graduates do not think logically, outside the box or what to do with the box.
We all know our educational system is quack, what can we do to help ourselves since for now we're stuck with the system? There in lies the great challenge.

Well, how can I put this...

Okay, I'm a fresh graduate heading for service by March. I saw the advert in December and tried it out, the job description has me all on it! Only thing was, I've not served yet (NYSC is a pain).

And that's why I was not given the opportunity to interview but I did the hard "exam" too. Lovely experience, I wanted to test my CV and my employability. That's all sorted now. I love that organization though a startup but still okay.

I have no idea about the pay but I'll bet it's within the 70-120k range.
About the interview, search for a thread on the coy here on Nairaland, can't remember the link.

Cheers!
Thank you. NYSC is really a bother. grin. I have read a couple of Nairaland threads on the topic. As at 2013, they said the pay for trainees was 80k upon confirmation.

Sincerely, thank you.

Be expectant, but occupy yourself for the meantime. I got the message late last week.

Thanks for the tip, already did justice to that before coming here.
Hallos. Please, how did your interview go? I have one with them soon after the hard 'exam' I wrote. grin

Most importantly, do you have any idea how much they pay?
