Zionbel: Breach you said! Is there really privacy? When she submitted her application with cv or resume, did she not add her whatsapp number and all contact details there? The girl is wrong in all form. And she deserves no pity for her ill-manners. Be kind to strangers. Let them prove who they are with time. First impression matters. What's wrong, saying, "Goodmorning" "Trust you slept well" and after responding, then continue, "Please may I know you, because your contact isn't saved to my device, and obviously, you know me well, having mentioned my name" Look, we are all different and we react differently to situations. And what you have just stated is how you would react in this sort of situation. But you need to remember, that not everyone is you, and they will react differently from you. |

Zionbel: That's a lame excuse. You don't expect your examiner to tell you method of questioning for your exams. Interview is like an exam. Be prepared at any time. Some interviews don't require questions on your field. They just require your manners especially where you're supposed to be working with a team. Perfect expertise in a field can be ruined by bad manners. Please define the word interview and compare it to what happened here. |

NaijaOlosho: Any firm or private sector can decide how their interview would be
I am a medical sonographer
When I applied for a job somewhere in 2015
They got my application and called me to come.
Immediately I got to the hospital they showed me 10 patients to scan them
Without asking questions or letting me check the kind of ultrasound machine they have.
You see their pattern of interview??
So what I did was go ask the patient to give me 10 minutes to charge the machine ( this was how I bought little time to check the machine type and acquaint my self with the machine before i started scanning.
After i was done that was how i got he job
After you have applied for any job always prepare your self for anything that's the truth.
Some girls always think anyone who chats them want to chyk them You are completely off point here. First and foremost, we are not talking about you, or your success in securing a job; we are actually discussing on the method used by the above company in disseminating information to one of their applicants. |

KosiGee: Businesses in Nigeria like to play gods to the citizens due to unimaginable employment rate. That’s why some HR staff from some company would find it convenient to sit in his living room with a mobile phone in his hands stalking vulnerable people who sent in applications or attended interviews. This is bad...Sadly there are people supporting that.
It’s win win for such companies, they’d come in sheep’s skin via unprofessional platforms and when the response embarrass them, they’d claim rudeness and bad attitude...give such staff the needed attention and you’d hear how the potential employee was sexually harassed.
In Nigeria, bad habits have become normalised and part of everyday life. You are right my brother. These companies operate very shitty recruitment processes all in the name of cutting expense. And if you check well, most them have a very poor organization structure with an even poorer salary scale. In fact such companies tend to owe their staff over a long period |

JONNYSPUTE: .....Guy you lied. There was this job I bidded for in a state ministry last year. No information until two weeks ago when I came out from the bathroom to see a miss call of an unknown number.
I simply returned the call and even though I greeted the person at the other end, there was no reply to my greetings. The only thing I heard was,are you Engr so so so,I said yes sir and he now introduced himself as the chief of staff and informed me that the job has been approved.
If I was rude when I greeted and he didn't respond,do you know he might cancel the contract?
All we are saying is that we shouldn't be rude to anybody especially to strangers. Ogbeni, what you experienced has no resemblance here. You went to bid for a job; not an interview or recruitment excercise. And even at that, it is still not right for companies to go about treating employees in such shitty manners. |

phorget: You must be referring to ages when technologies were absent. This days, people can conduct interview through Skype, Zoom, etc. We are in 21st century bro, archaic things don't exist or are almost going into extinction already. If truly you are an employer as you mentioned then I'll advice you to flow with technology and forget about the old ways of doing things, technology is way more cheaper and more economical. E.G,if I am in kaduna and I applied for a job in Lagos and someone offered to interview me through just a phone/video call or chat then that means I'll be able to save my time of traveling, I'll be able to be safe from accidents on the road, I'll be able to save my travel expenses etc.
Please bro, it's more appropriate to live in a digital world than your old analog ways and please remember to thank me when you start enjoying your new ease as I don't always give out a free advice. Mr man, just admit it, you do not know the definition of the word "interview ". The Zoom, Skype and co, you mentioned would require a facial interaction(face-face), not a messaging session like what was done between this girl and the company. But take it or leave, what was done here was not an interview, it was Social media chatting |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Lady Loses Job To 'Who Gave You My Number?' Question On WhatsApp by Jashub: 9:21am On Nov 28, 2020 |
phorget: The interview is a conversation in which you and an employer exchange information. Your objective is to get an offer of a job, and the employer's objective is to find out the following: What you have to offer (your skills, abilities, basic knowledge). Who you are (your personality, character, interests).
From the above I think you should be able to deduce that characters are also very vital in employment scheme. If an employee can be so rude if in a mere phone conversation/chat then how do you expect him/her to deal with the clients in the said organization.
I once worked in a hotel and I saw what my coworkers were doing. They attend specially to clients that hand them tips while clients that will only pay for the services rendered to them without giving out any tip were been treated like a nobody. That is how bad those type of employees can be. Bros, no offense but it seems you do not even know the meaning of an interview. FYI, and interview is any face-to-face meeting, especially of an official nature. What is done here is not an interview ; it is incompetence modified as an interview. |

You're starting to sound like a broken record with your numerous replies. Just keep shut and stop embarrassing yourself. My basic problem with you is that you lack the necessary exposure to know what right from what is wrong. My replies do not support her rudeness, no. They are merely throwing light on the loopholes the company failed to put in place in its recruitment process. In saner climes, this company would have been sued. But since this 9ja, and a lot of you enjoy eating shit, then who am I to complain. |

Mitsurugi: I call them a smart modern thinking company. The best way to test character is impromptu. So the company should in this day and time give her the notice to "package" herself. In my opinion experience probably got them using this tactic and from the looks of it, they dodged a bullet. Always be courteous whoever will pick your call will come like a thief in the night. The company is not smart, it is just one of those mushroom companies that have no organization. It is companies like these that will owe you till eternity. |
