Hmmm, well said, open heart surgeries and all that would not have been possible without computers. Its more than a tool. Its the father of all inventions and no invention would stand on its 2 legs without them.

Its getting smaller, ? Sure and better too, Computers dont mean laptops or desktops A mobile phone could be reffered to as a computer and al other stuffd

Guy, why do u like mode9? just curious undecided
i m intelligent. The only thing that appeals to me is intelligence. I dont follow public opinions on an issue, i follow my opinion. Modenine is by far the only naija hiphop head that awakes the mental thought process. No one rhymes like he does.

I always want to be around intelligent pple, read intelligent books, date intelligent gals and listen to intelligent music. I luv hiphop, intelligent hiphop. I like modenine

There cannot be any invention greater than computers ---why? Cos computers have become indispensable to our lives such that any new invention or discovery would need computers for it success. There can only be better computers, maybe computers that, ---- i dont know actually but i feel there cannot be inventions greater than computers. Future inventions would need them Robotics, HIV/AIDS and all have their solutions revolving round computers,
ProgrammingRe: What Is Wrong If African Coders Build An Online Payment System For Africans? by javalove(m): 6:35pm On Apr 16, 2008
Nice idea without the "AFRICAN" concept in it. I agree with you we need to start developing our own things but a project like this does not rely on your coding prowress to succeed. It requires lots of protocols and beuracracies. It requires trust, since its a group of people coming together and not a company, then security becomes an issue. Government policies is also a major factor. While the government would be happy at the project, would the banks or merchants involved be? Interswitch is a consortium of Banks-----meaning the database connection strings to each bank's database is trusted with a company - interswitch. It costs them less and of course they feel secured.

However, if you say we should develop a universal banking system for our banks would be a veru nice idea. That i know they pay through their nose and i'm sure they would be glad to have a cheaper and very reliable application. I have always been thinking in this direction sha.

All the same, nice idea and nice to know your mental thought process is awakened for development. Keep thinking like this!!!
BusinessRe: UBA Charges COT On Savings Accounts: Be Warned! by javalove(m): 8:33pm On Apr 15, 2008
My case is a bad one. I came to adamawa state to do a job for one of my clients. Because i was rushing to catch my flight, i left the bag containing my ATM and my withdrawal slip. On getting to yola, i went to a UBA branch and told them my story, could u believe they charge me 630 naira for every withdrawal i make, ? They give me one stupid form to fill before i can make withdrawal. I am still there now and i m still withdrawing, ko easy oooo

ROCK MUSIC IN NOT DEMONIC BUT MAJORITY OF SATANISTS AND MASONS ARE KNOWN TO BE ROCK MUSICIANS. HAS ANYONE LISTENED TO THE SONG OTEL CARLIFONIA, ? EVERYONE IN DAT GROUP IS A SATANIST AND THE CHURCH OF SATAN IS ON A STREET CALLED CARLIFONIA STREET IN CALIFORNIA, IF U LISTEN TO THE SONG THEN U WOULD UNDERSTAND. I USED TO STUDY SATANISM AND MASONRY 3 YRS BACK AND I STILL HAVE SOME OF MY RESEARCHES INTACT,

Every line of code you write is a post to somebody's problem , very true. These things already have solutions online. I believe if someone has a problem he should make it known. there are more tasking things you could involve yourselves in (working with a bandobject, using the new WPF (Zammel) language in .NET2008, learning to use to Facebook framework to develop facebook apps and a countless other stuffs). If we continue this way we would continue going in loops. Check out other foreign programming forums (codeproject e.t.c). Check out new articles being posted there. I'm thinking of starting a forum like codeproject very soon for Nigerains Software writers to post their articles and solutions to problems for others to download.
Aw r u sure. Look lets just start simple. Lets assess the success of handling a small project like this one before we go into something large. Obviously, there is no bigger project i believe we can't handle. No matter how big it is, i beleive our collective exposure and expertise wold achive it for us.

You just mentioned .NET. Thats another thing. WE are not all .NET programmers. What we want to promote first is unity in diversity, (am i right?). Different languages to achieve the same thing. Then we would assess our compatibility in developing a project with different languages using plugins. i am looking beyond the contact manager sha,

I have been a member of code project for more than 4 years. One of the earliest members u would say. They didnt start from the top like u want us to do, they started from scratch, posting from articles to explain the simplest HelloWorld of a language and now, its a huge success. Lets just complete this little project first. If it goes fine, we are on track.

Its a nice idea you've got sha. I am sure we will support you in making it a succes,

In essence, patterns

-- Provide ready made solutions (not code snippets, but design ideas) that prevent you from reinenting the wheel in common recurring problems
-- Makes your code industry and standard compliant since everybody understands what trick you are trying to play in a particular code block

A good analogy is the difference between Queen's English and Nigerian English.

Though you will communicate using any of the two, but you will be conforming to standards when you speak Queen's English.
Good one. Nice illustrations.

is not about the software u can develope nor the programing language u can speak (don't forget that YAHOO(the OS of the internet is frm open source languages)) it is about tinking ahead to produce a new tin in the industry or modify perfectly an existing technology. we can achieve this but not as a person but as team (a team of programmer and humanist) if u are tinking in this direction we can reason 2gether
Hmm, i agree with ya. Lets achieve this first. Then after we have this very simple task first. We are just starting u know. Lets follow process. Even cold water doesnt just become hot, it has to be warm first. Lets warm ourselves before getting hot cheesy
