Sure, u can embed reportmill in any container u want, You can even export your reportd to PDF, Excel, Flash, HTML or any other, if u can make a simple HelloWorld, then u can use RM. It has a visual designer where u can design your reports and define the keys, When you are done, save it as a .rpt. See this when designing ur report

Employee Name: @getEmployeeName@
Employee Address: @getEmployeeAddress@

and so on,

Then i your code you you can pass your datasets as a java.util.List, a Map or an Xml File. When you fetch your data from God-knows-where and say, just add dem to the map,

Map myJavaDataset= new HashMap();
myJavaDataset.put("getEmployeeName", rs.getString(1).trim());
myJavaDataset.put("getEmployeeAddress", "Nairaland Avenue, Lagos"wink;

//Load ur report template

RMDocument template = new RMDocument(aSource);

//Generate the report passing ur dataset as parameter

RMDocument report = template.generateReport(myJavaDataset);

//Genarate a pdf if u like

byte pdf[] = report.getBytesPDF();

//You can also just write it out:

report.write("MyReport.pdf"wink;

//Make the viewer

RMViewer viewer= new RMViewer
JScrollPane pane= new JScrollPane(viewer);
getContentPane().add("Center",pane);

//Set the document
viewer.setDocument(report);

Thats all u need to do, More examples are available on www.reportmill.com. Its just a single jar u add to your class path. You also need to download the studio for designing ur reports and dats all,

go for which one of them u are passionate about. don't base your decision on money

the truth is, u actually get paid more for how good your job is. there are networkers that earn more than some java programmers and vice versa. its just a matter of how well u can market yourself

Well, i v never used netbeans before (can u believe that!!!) but i have it on my system sha. I use a small IDE and it gets my job done as at when due. I hope to start using it soon though so I can be seen as a "PROFESSIONAL" hisses . . . . as if i'm not already one

Talking about reporting, i also dont use iReport. I use ReportMill. www.reportmill.com. It's the best java reporting tool I know cos I have tried amost all the ones available from iReport, Datavision to Jasper, Reportmill is easy to use, handy API's to generate reports, a good page layout application for visual designs, with graphing and charting, cross tabs, mailing labels and other cool-ish stuffs u need. I have been using it for close to 4yrs and i will continue to use it,

i sing along all the tracks but to write them down go be wahala because i'm a bit busy, my favourite is Contradiction. The most intelligent rap song ever to be spat by a ngerian, Contradicting his previous verse with t next,

"I'm smooth but I handle my friction, " Friction only occurs on rough surfaces not smooth surfaces, !!!
"Bring them back to life, by killing 'em with the flow"
"I sworn after taking uff always keep it real, but most times i'm dropping friction to prove skill, "
"Hiphop is died off, I see nothing good on/ Diss me and fall of before you get put on, "

Modenine for lyfe!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone familiar with my posts on this forum would be aware that i lay strong emphasis on tight lyrics and intelligence. While pasuma is good in his own little way, getting all the fame and money, I would go with Osupa anyday anytime. That guy spits fire and can rip pasuma or anyther fuji musician to pieces with lyrics,

It was actually active for a while . I think it was formed around 1998 by one guy can't remember his name again we even had a couple of meetings but getting a location for the meeting was a problem back then.

Agreed a lot of the guys coming to the meeting then were java novices but when it was suggested we start working on a practical project guys lost interest and the group died.
Yeah, thats what happens jare my brother, lets hope we get it right this time, u don join?

FOr those in naija

Hmmmm na wa ooooo, I dont know why some peeps in naija would be expecting som1 to send the money, for what? Dont u have hands? Dont u have brains to think? When ur friend was travelling, did he say he would be sending you meal tickets, ? Meenn go get a life. We are enjoying more than those abroad in terms of money making ooooo. The only think we are lacking is the experience and exposure they have, If you work hard here, make urself relevant to the system and u prove that you are good at what u do with a few connections here and there, u no get wahala,

I'm a programmer here and all the time, i kep getting mails from my friends that I should come over with promises like, "Lukman if u were here, u wud be earning double, ", - - - - for where . . . . . e easy? Its funny to me but aw we go do,

There was even a time a pal of mine neede to give some of his siblings some money here, like 45k sha and told me to help me give 'em and that he wud re-emburse me, i did and never asked him for it, When he offered to payback after almost 2 months, i told him to forget it saying what are friends for, I understand how life is there and I hope some nigerians share the same. Its not that easy, UK is just a glorifies Nigeria to me (lol). When any of them comes back, I even offer to pay the bills when we go out - - - "Una no dey base here, when we come over na una turn to make us feel comfortable", They would laugh and its all fun sha . .

Nigerians, should also buy respect for themselves buy not calling to beg all the time. Lets be considerate when some1 says "I would sort u later",we shud be patient, kpoun yi ko easyy ooo

To those abroad

How una dey, ? We know its not easy but the part that annoys me is when I call, not aking for money and not sounding in a way that i'm begging either, then someone tells me . . . "Ma worry Lukman, things no dey easy but i go c u soon". Do u guys think everyone calling from Naija is calling to beg? When they come hoe gaann kpa kpa, to come greet us go be wahala because of fear of "begging", Ko da ooooo. Make una sef try change una orientation oooo. I'm sure its easier to make calls from Naija to UK and some of us go out of our to do that. Abeg make una respect us too and there are peeps here who are making doe more than those in UK (i didnt say yankee ooo),
TravelRe: 136 Ba Passengers Removed From Jet Over Deportee Row by javalove(m): 2:27pm On May 28, 2008
Heehhhneennn, ! This oyinbo people have always felt they r superior to us. If it was a white that did what Mr. Ayo did, i dont think it would have gotten to that. Any Nigerian taken sides with BA needs to be stripped on his Nigerian passport, his name and what ever it that makes him/her a nigerian.

No one would fight for us, we will fight for ourselves. When they come here we treat them they are from Mars while they trat us like garbage,

Any nigerian who supports BA on whatever ground is a fool and should be banned from this site, (i de vex oo). If Mr. Ayo was your brother or uncle how would you feel? The whites themselves know how a black thinks of his fellow black and its to their advantage,

I'm not even ready to listen to their side, Awon oloshi jatijati yi, Kaaada fun BA, hisses
