Foreign AffairsRe: Uk Election On May 6; With Polls by jaybee3(m): 11:22am On Apr 30, 2010
Freiburger:
I really do not know why people get worked when immigration is been discussed. If you have the right papers, please come here but if you don't no point.

I wonder. As if the whole election is all about immigration.
Well, i'm not from the UK but i 've been taking a close watch on
the election, and i think the Lib dem leader will ermerge
as the next PM
since the polls signifies a tight race, and Gordon Brown
just revealed he can't be trusted by calling a labour voter a bigoted woman
few moments after a friendly and normal conversation.
So i think every potential labour voter who got angry from that will not go that far
voting the conservatives, they will simply end up voting the lib dem.
But another thing is that the Nick Clegg's position on immigration is somehow too porus,
and that might affect him in swing areas presently controlled by the conservatives.
He has a 1 billion to 1 chance of pulling that off. Dude, the polls are only showing opinion polls which doesn't necessarily translate into electoral seats.
For liberal democrats to win dis election they would have to have about 44% share of the votes and i can categorically say that's not going to be possible.

@tkb
PDP will rig him in.
The only way to checkmate the guy which i seriously doubt will happen due to d undemocratic PDP's rotational presidency policy is for d AP to declare his interest and in turn fight for the PDP ticket.
Power of incumbency can never be underrated.

CareerRe: Electrical Engineering: Aspirants and Practitioners by jaybee3(m): 3:34pm On Apr 29, 2010
Coolio.
Teeside is not highly rated according to 2009 figures from: http://www.thecompleteuniversityguide.co.uk/single.htm?ipg=6643

I will advice you to choose from the top 20 listed uni's in the above link

Control doesn't necessarily posses greater earning power. Everything depends on the industry and you are supposed to be looking at job availability for now rather than earning power.
CareerRe: Electrical Engineering: Aspirants and Practitioners by jaybee3(m): 1:46pm On Apr 29, 2010
^^
Why Teeside?
Do you plan to continue with the IT career path after the MSc? If yes then surely your first option is a winner as you are already skilled/experienced in that field and doing an MSc will only enhance your employability.

IMO should only do control bla bla bla if you intend to revert back to electrical engineering.

Why take the risk? I am all for continuity at a later stage in career.

and shame the Guy, when you refuse to take responsibility at Home you
will be subject to concrete Authority from Abroad,

And if the Senator has any assets abroad ie houses etc they should be seized and
sold and the proceeds sent to help Child Molestation Charities!!!

Is it a crime under international law? and since when did Nigeria sign a law that allows her citizens to be charged when crimes were committed outside her shores?

princekevo:
If the court or constitution recognises the Islamic mariages is he not commiting a bigger crime by goings against the Section 33(1) of Nigerian marriage act? Mind you, he is not being charged to sharia court of law, but Nigerian court of law. And the constitution made is clear that where there is a conflict between the sharia law and the Constitution of the country, the constitution prevails.
I get your drift. The questions are as follows;
Did a marriage ceremony occur between the 2?
If yes, was it performed by a licensed official or cleric in the case of sharia law?

If you answer No to the above questions then technicaly zilch charges can be brought against the dude.

ayettymama:
kidnap?? but the parents are aware?? u mean traffikin and wotnot?? but if they dont recognise sharia marriages and the child prob wasnt forced into prostitution or labour what exactly are we gonna say he did again??
GBAM. The child holds the key to untangling of dis case. If she was married against her wish then kidnapping charges can be brought against all concerned (d paedophile and d girl's parents).
Money and status rules in naija so i seriously doubt if anything is gonna happen. I can bet you the case is going to be swept under the carpet as they usually do.  grin grin grin
PoliticsRe: Ahmad Sani Yerima Disgraces Nigeria -BBC Report (example child bride pic posted) by jaybee3(m): 12:53pm On Apr 29, 2010
He def can't be charged for underage marriage but a mere lesser kidnapping charges might just do the trick.

ayettymama:
wow u gys are funny- its is actually in nigeria's child rights acts- if many of u werent soo blinded by personal opinion someone should have been able to point it out! kaii none of u can make good lawyers!! aaanyways;

It said the marriage violated Nigeria's Child Rights Act of 2003 forbidding marriage with anyone under 18. The punishment is a 500,000 naira (3,320 dollar/2,500 euro) fine or a five-year jail term, or both
Lawyer ayettymama  wink, Won't the court have to recognise Islamic marriages before that supposedly offence becomes punishable?

You guys are busy here going back and forth about non-issues that categorically won't make any difference. Sitting down behind computers doing unnecessary comparative analysis thousand miles away is surely not the way forward.

What can we do and how do we go about it?
