A naij citizen refusing a bribe to the tune of $15 million dollars. What else do we want this man to do even though their has been enuff echo of him being a tool used by obj to machete all his opponents. Fact remains that the man deserve praise/applauds cos fight against corruption is a slow painstaking one.

Long live nuhu ribadu.

Another arrowing thing troubling my mind this friday morning is the fact that a man supposedly working as a cashier (maximum rate of pay per hr at the time <£5) in london can aamazea staggering fortune to be able to offer bribe to the tune of such huge amount.
Fake or real arrest, fact remains the man has been hhumiliated hopefully be stripped of all the looted billions and if lucky spend some time in jail.

Politics › Re: If You Were The President Of Nigeria-what Would You Do 2 Change Nigeria by jaybee3(m): 2:48pm On Dec 05, 2007
Your suggestions are good. But in the meantime what do you do to the rogues that keep us in a deficit and make the country uninhabitable to foreign investors other than tbe oil sector? You can educate the grassroots all you want, but if the criminal elements in Nigeria are not dealt with, no amount of education can help. You may increase taxes all you want, but if the "pocketeers" keep stealing the taxes as we have now, we are not going anywhere anytime soon.

We need people like us (young gunz)with life changing ideas to revolt (a major rally round aso rock) that will cripple movement of cars in and out of the villa will surely make the rogues realise ordinary citizens of Nigeria have suffered for long and it's about time to change guards.
Our problem is we Nigerians like to talk the talk rather than walk the walk, we have to stand up and be counted, do what we believe in not what we are told to do (Don't get me wrong i totally support law and order) but we are always very quick to accept our fate and let the rogues determine our future.

We are suppose to be practising democracy now which should enable people to express freedom of speech so making relevant noise alongside taking definite and rigid actions will do us a lot of good.

My take-investing in education without having a conducive learning environment that provides some degree of safety to citizens is a waste of time as you can see. Not when you tell the "youths" that it is more lucrative to be a "criminal" than to invest time and money in "academics".
I still believe in educating the youths, making them understand at an early stage that road to riches is hard work. making them understand that man can attain any heights he set himself to reach as long as he follows the basic humanity principles (love thy neighbour, work hard, honesty, self content). Only un-educated individuals will go and spend over 12 million naira to acquire cars that they can't drive in nigeria because of its roads. only uneducated Nigerians will have over 12 cars because they cannot ride in all of them at once. So many things that education teaches you whilst growing up so that's why i insist of basic education as a mandatory if we want to realise all the vision for Nigeria.

I for one is ready to donate books to my secondary school and if God willing i have enough money in the future, i will have some sort of scheme that will benefit a lot young people in my state. One don't have to be a chief, leader or in politics to help Nigerians develop. We all have to contribute and give back to our community.
Christianity Etc › Re: God Said Nigeria Will Be The Greatest Nation In The World - Adeboye by jaybee3(m): 10:24am On Dec 04, 2007
Ur question: What do dis churches do?
My answer: i know i am going to get slated but everyone has a right to their own opinions. uhm here it is; churches are fashionable/reputable business that if one goes into can/will quadruple returns over-nigth. All one has to do is to be able to charm your gatherings with word of God and bam people will start depositing life savings/hard earned money into the so called churches.

What is the essence of having between 5 - 10 churches withing a square mile radius? (me thinks it does solidify my theory of churches being fashionable and a source of income/riches to the so called men of God)

Why do churches encourage you to pay tithes, offerings with credit card despite knowing that it not only throws one into an unforgiven debt journey which can lead to people committing suicide (dis has happened in the past) but also meaningless as the God we all serve does understand our suffering and will not encourage one to be debt ridden.

Why do pastors drive the best rides you can see on earth and the enormous followers content with legediz benz as dey say back in the days?

Churches are meant to be charitable organisations not the way we naijs see it has the only solution to our problems. If you do the right thing, work hard, pray hard within the comfort of your own room, our Lord Will surely answer your prayers as he likes everyone equally.

Peeps so many reasons out their for us to wise up, offcourse we have to believe in God and do the right things but definitely not wait for a so called pastor to prophecise abt unreasonable miracles (enuff cases of peeps in the past that have chosen to believe miracles of them passing their exams without reading, what happened? failure on the highest order).

You can get into investment analysis with any numerate degree i.e (Any engineering degree cos of the maths content and engineer's structured way of thinking) or the old fashion economics or perhaps MSc in Investment Banking.

I am in a similar position only that i don't have any job offer from naij. I earn more than i can ever dream of in naij but i honestly think d sky is the limit with things you can achieve in naij with a very gud job.
so many negativity with high paying jobs here as u tend to be stuck (limited prospect of promotion) cos we will always be second citizen even if u were born here as such.
Don't know if u read about a bank (i think commerzbank or might be deutche bank) that will only make German white citizen head their respective strategic posts (positive discrimination if u read into it).

Topic/discussion is clearly about someone with a job wanting to leave certainty for uncertainty (def not abt unemployed grads wanting to better 'emselves).
