Seen. This just supports my view that this is one of their costliest losses in recent times, and it's still rising.

You're right that Israel doesn't hold back when it goes to war but they will hate that they left themselves open to an attack on their own soil. Which is my original point.

For example, the biggest losers of 9/11 were the Americans, even if they later destroyed Al-Qaeda. That's why they hold a memorial every year.

Whichever way this goes, Israel would be at the losing end of this particular phase of the conflict.

If senior military officers have been captured, as touted, Israel will have no option but to negotiate prisoner swaps.

Either way, this crises will continue for another 100 years.

The death toll for Israel alone is already at 700, easily one of the most they've ever lost in a conflict, and you think that's not enough losses for them? This is not your government that doesn't value a single life.

Israel lost this phase of the conflict because they're only reacting to the damage Hamas has caused, this has never been their way. Usually, Israel intercepts danger before it crosses their border.

Even Israelis are wondering how all their intelligence and military organisations missed out on an attack of this magnitude. No amount of aggression on Gaza will bring back lives lost so they remain the biggest losers.

Worst case is that they are at risk of losing the agreements they had with Arab neighbours like Jordan and Egypt if this conflict spirals out of control. Even the Saudi agreement has been placed on hold.

Ignorant people said Israel doesn't swap prisoners, I laugh you. grin

Anyway, like I said, the Israeli -Palestinian conflict isn't ending anytime soon.

Also, I'm for neither side. Only stated the obvious.

It's easier said than done. Nigerians are in for a very long ride. One way to consider is the interest rate.

It's crazy how the CBN allowed money supply to run amok under Emefiele, even introducing a failed policy to rein in supply, instead of considering other less punitive measures for the masses.

Simple economics dictates that people will rather do things when there are incentives for them to do so. How can you reconcile an interest rate of around 10% per annum while inflation rate is over 25%? Which sane person would keep their money in a bank when it keeps losing value?

We are talking about people with billions of naira in financial assets who would rather not hold the naira.

In simple English, equate the interest rate to the inflation rate. This could be done in phases. Borrowers will grumble but it will encourage savings. After all, how many of the loans given out have been used for productive ventures?

This figure has been overbloated because of the current exchange rate of world currencies to the naira.

Case in point is the USD to naira conversion which is tending towards N1,000.

This means that if Nigerians in diaspora send USD 1Million for just September, they'd have sent around NGN 1Billion in total, when converted.

That nurse's life has changed forever, irrespective of whether her actions were the cause of death or not.

This is one of the reasons I've always been against "learning" nursing and midwifery from a hospital, instead of going to an accredited school.

There you must pass professional board exams and be certified before you inject someone.

It's a lesson to everyone, don't let anyone just inject you in the name of being a "Nurse".

And most importantly, make our eye nor see bad thing.

Good point made but that's half of the job in my opinion.

The process of sending parcel abroad should be made genuinely as simple as ABC to allow genuine exporters start small and grow big without burdening the central purse for dollar thus weakening the Naira.

The likes of Dangote who love monopoly out-muscle small businesses in the forex jostling process. And because they are monopolists don't want to face Iintl competition so do not earn their own forex as much as they should.

This admonition should be supported with cost friendly export process void of rent seeking civil servants.

The State university lecturers have made their points known, in solidarity with the national ASUU. This is not a good time to lose any job, though I know sacking them will be difficult.
