The way these wailing elements with elementary minds think is just too absurd. Imagine having to still have patience with Jonathan after six years but it is justified by them to castigate Buhari after less than 100 days.

Who are the we?
Truly, the Ijaws have put you in their pocket permanently. If the Ijaws are making this threat, then it makes sense to me but for you a supposed smart Igbo man to be a mere pawn for an Ijaw man have reduced you to a complete joke.
You can't blame the Ijaws, for trying to play SLAVE MASTERS. you blame the Igbos for throwing their blind support for a people who do not beg or solicit their support in the first place. The Ijaws like all other tribes in Nigeria care primarily about their survival and anything that guarantees or enhances their survival chances is FAIR GAME.
I have asked myself, what is the rationale or justification for all these blind support? Is it the role the Ijaws play in jeopardizing their Biafra dream?
The Igbo properties that were seized and termed as abandoned properties?
All the promise Jonathan made to the SE that he did not fulfill any?
When Ojukwu ran for the presidential election, did the Ijaws drum up support for him? did they even vote for him? The agitations I know the Ijaws were or rather are still clamouring for is not secession but resource control, did they factor in the Igbo interest in this agitation? What have they gained from the so called (attachee), even the warlords and militants that benefited have toned down their lavish lifestyle.
The fact that the SE voted GEJ is no justification to marry the Ijaws with the biafran agitation as even they are silent on the issue, Where is Asari Dokubo's voice and his biafra theatricals like he played before the SE spectators just before the election? Since Jonathan lost, why has he gone suddenly mute on the biafran agenda? A man that SO MUCH LOVED HIS LAND that he cited his schools, university and investments in Benin Republic. Where is the BLOOD and FIRE he threatened if Jonathan is not re elected?
The truth is that the Ijaws and the SS have moved on, the SE should do the same.

HOW was Jonathan fair to SE. I really really really need to know and understand the EXACT reason for this melodrama. I'm intrigued!
How can you say Jonathan is not fair to the SE. He completed the second Niger bridge as promised. Can't you see the deep sea port he built as promised? SE has the best motorable roads in Nigeria, all thanks to GEJ. How can you say the man that kept and delivered his promises to the SE is not fair to the SE.

For the fact that her credibility is questioned is enough reason for people not to accept any election result she presides over.
Election must not only be free and fair but must be generally believe to be credible and fair. INEC as an independent umpire, must be seen to be independent and unbiased in alignment as anything short of this, would create room for post election violence.
Anyone can question anybody's credibility, (even the credibility of Jesus Christ was questioned) the point is that is it justified?

I just wonder why people spin issues out of their weird imaginations, to what ends? The issues they are accusing Fashola is (or rather was as it was just recently taken off the Lagos state website) on public domain. Has Ambode or his Agents issued a statement to the effect that they are behind the accusations of Fashola inflating contracts? since the information was on public domain I would want to believe that the mischief and accusations did not emanate from the Governor or his Agents as anyone could access the information and spin any tale or theories with it. Until Governor Ambode launches an official probe or enquiries in Fashola's administration, I will stick to my premise. It might interest one to note the the website that contained the information wasn't hosted by Governor Ambode but by Fashola to ensure transparency and accountability.

Of course not. Just saying that I'm still proud of my region. Ogogoro and all. wink

But hey. Jonathan gave us a bad name. Someone like Pat Utomi or Donal Duke would have shown the world what real SS men are made of. They may be high on something a lot of times BUT they are smart, critical, fore-sighted people.
To prove this, look around other regions. It's very popular to see a very wealthy man whose siblings are just average or even just managing. These rich men like most black men don't enrich their families. They only care about themselves and their own children. Igbo men may give their brothers money to start up shop but they hardly follow up on their businesses. Most yorubas are even worse. Where are Otedola, Adenuga, Alakija's siblings? Hausas help their siblings but not as much.

But check out SS families. The Ibrus, the Bruce brothers, The Iboris (yeah I know na stolen wealth) the Igbinedions, the Dukes in Calabar. The Nkpubures in Akwa-Ibom, and many more.

We are silent achievers and yes we have good taste too.
My prayer is that we are given another chance in Nigeria in the not too distant future.
@the bolded, you are quite right. We Yorubas don't empower our families as well as the Igbos do. This unfortunately is the bitter truth about my people.

Mr Wikipedia, what was the name the Aworis gave to it?
They Initially settled at Ile-olofin (now Isheri) olofin meaning the same as ALAFIN.
before they dispersed to different parts of Lagos.
The name they gave to Lagos Island is ISALE OKO.
as it was seen as a farming settlement. Lagos Island was called so when the First son of Ogunfunminire migrated further south to Ebute-Metta. and they used Lagos Island as their farming settlement. ISALE OKO means the farm further south.
wonder why the palace of the the Oba of Lagos
is called IGA-IGUDARAN? IGA means palace while
IGUDARAN means pepper farm. IGA-IGUDARAN
means PALACE BUILT ON PEPPER FARM.
It is also worthy to note that the Aworis don't lay
claim to all parts of Lagos state, the Ogus
(Eguns), Ijebus and Egbas were also leaving in
Lagos long before the Portuguese set foot on
Lagos soil. The Oba of Lagos original domain
was Lagos Island and he was in no way superior
to the his other brothers who was are now the
Idejo chiefs. The first son of Ogunfunmiire has his
palace at Isale-oko and he was a mediator when
quarrels break out among his brothers overtime
his influence grew and he was seen especially by
the Europeans that the Oba of Lagos was the
commanding king of all the Land holding families
of Lagos.
The Oba of Lagos is not regarded as a first class
king in Yorubaland, his status is not higher than
Oba Akran of Badagry, each administer his
domain but the Oba of Lagos happen to rule over
the most Economically important part of Lagos.
The Island I stay belongs to the Onisiwo family
and Oba Onisiwo has his palace on Lagos Island.
All the "omo onilu" herer are all related to the
king of Lagos. Most of them have their family
houses in Lagos same as most Land owning
Awori families.

Politics › PDP Begins Online Registration Of Members by jaymichael(op): 9:57pm On Aug 23, 2015
Following criticisms of the actions of the national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, members of its National Working Committee has initiated online system of registration for its members across the country. This mode of registration by members was once suggested by some aggrieved members within the party, known as PDP Renewal Group, but was rejected by the national leadership of the party and its governors. Also, stakeholders of the party had insisted that this mode of registration must be introduced by the party. Following the dismal performance of the party during the last general elections, some members of the party have been calling for the sacking of the entire members of the NWC in order to give another set of leaders the opportunity to pilot the affairs of the party. The criticism that trailed the poor performance of the party during the elections forced the erstwhile Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, to resign. Last week, the steering committee of Restart PDP Project, another pressure group within the party, submitted a blueprint to the governors and some prominent members of the party. The group, which is headed by Mr. Nwosu Emmanuel and Dennis Ukpabio, insisted that the online registration must be brought back, among other reforms it suggested. On Sunday, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Chief Olisa Metuh, in a statement, said the party had agreed to start the online registration. He added that Edo State would be used as a pilot for the project, a development he said would result in the deferment of earlier scheduled congresses in the state. Metuh said the decision to resuscitate the e- registration project was part of the re-engineering efforts to rebuild the party. He stated, “The National Working Committee, after very wide consultations with critical stakeholders, and in line with the wishes and aspirations of our teeming supporters across the country, has approved the resuscitation of the e- registration project. “This project, which was initially presented in the 52nd National Executive Committee meeting of our great party on August 12, 2010, is aimed, among other things, at harmonizing our membership data, returning ownership of the party to the people and strengthening our various structures at all levels across the country. “The NWC believes that the e-registration is indeed a decisive step towards enthroning internal democracy and giving every member a voice in the party. “While details of the process will be transmitted to our various structures across the nation, the NWC announces that Edo state would be used as a pilot for the exercise.” Metuh stressed that the earlier scheduled Edo State congress would not hold until the completion of the pilot e-registration exercise in the state. He said members of the NWC were committed towards ensuring that the control of the party was returned to the people in line with the ideals of the founding fathers, while urging all members to remain focused and continue to work together in furthering the rebuilding effort. When i saw your reply i thought you were going to say something logical but i was wrong. How does situating a REFINERY up North facilitate the distribution of refined products? Now this is why i said the average Hausa-Fulani is incapable of complex reasoning. Lagos does not have any refinery but it gets more petroleum product than Kaduna. Imo, Anambra, Ogun does not have refineries but they get more refined petroleum products than Kaduna.

You build tank farms strategically across the country not refineries dunderhead. BTW you did not answer all my questions.
Kaduna refinery was built to take care of the distribution of distillates to the Northern region which unlike Lagos has no waterways where ocean going vessels can ply, berth and distribute distillates. Lagos has no refinery but the NNPC facility at ATLAS COVE was built @Tarkwa bay to take care of the distribution of distillates brought in by ocean plying ships to the different NNPC depots in Lagos and SW region. The North has no such waters.

The terrorist was found to be in possession of a valid Nigerian VISA. not passport. If he had in his possession a Nigerian passport, he wouldn't need a visa to enter Nigeria.
Do you know who issues visas? I know you don't, but I will tell you. The consular office is charged with the responsibility of visa issuance not the immigrations department. The Consular offices are under the MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS while the immigration is under the MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS.
The terrorist was caught abroad before even boarding. If he had succeeded in entering the country and slipped pass security, then the immigration will have a case to answer. The CGI could not have been suspended for the terrorist affair.

Atte made two points clear,
1. All Area comptrollers should increase weekly revenue collection from 13 to 35 billion naira.
2. All task force is hereby disbanded.
While I agree with the second, I disagree with the first. Increase revenue how? with the decreasing rate of importation? Go APMT, TICT, LILLYPOND, P&CHS, PTML and other bonded terminals, you will notice the activity rate has dropped from how it used to be 2 years ago and it's still dropping. I especially pity those bonded terminal operators as some bonded terminals have virtually turned football fields.
